  • go to 2,53 for submission

  • i just watched a vid on a twistoplata. i thought i saw it coming, either way that was nasty. good match

  • Great display of BJJ.

  • basic omoplata setup. but it was a giveway since he bent as arm into it. bend the other way you give up a striaght armbar but IMO armbars are easier to escape than omoplatas or any -plata for that matter.

Omoplata family(for those who dont know.)

omoplata-gogoplata-locoplata-monoplata. and the standard stuff armbar, triangle, wristlock.

  • You actually were very helpful, thank you very much.

  • You're very welcome. I tend to study a lot of bjj videos guess it shows. lol.

  • Does show.

I only got into BJJ 3 months ago. So the way I study it is more like; observing when people are in the same position when I get my ass kicked.

  • You'll get better dont rush it. It takes a while.

  • @bjjartist lol no offense but omoplatas are way way easier to escape than armbars. and omoplata has much more options for escape and you can even escape to dominant positions.

  • @carlsongracieteam you're right from a technical standpoint which is why I said in my opinion. I have cerebral palsy and a curved spine therefore I don't have the ability to stand or roll forward. That makes omoplatas really hard to escape as my only option is to roll underneath. I'm pretty sure if you had to do bjj the way I do you'd share my opinion. I was answering his question from my perspective, yours is different. Different perspectives=different answers.

  • @bjjartist o that sucks man how do u manage with cerebal palsy and a curved spine?

  • @carlsongracieteam I do well, I always start from the knees. Since my hips don't move well I try to get on top and stay there. I do play guard but I usually only go there in scrambles where I don't have a choice. My guard=sweep 1st, sub 2nd. If I have to play the bottom I'd much rather be in turtle than regular guard. Needless to say the stand up is REALLY REALLY important. I love bjj especially competition I compete every chance I get I feel it makes me better.

  • its cool when you get the guy in that.......then with your free hand start slaping him.

  • The guy he's rolling with is Tony Tipton from Travis Lutter's.

  • -Mundials 2008 Purple Belt Champion that is!
