........just got back from POP yesterday.....we love that place. Our room was in the 60's - Bldg 4 (Rm 4111 - First Floor)...and can be seen at 2:10 of the video...great location....50 feet from the pool....75 feet to the BAR!!!!
That looks like the creepiest place on Earth. Maybe it's better when you're right there looking at it, but it looks more like a nigthmare than something fun. Maybe if I were a kid again I'd think different about it.
@rokinrebex22 I'm not sure, but like most hotels my guess is they'd say something along the lines of "you can ask, but we can't guarantee your room location"...
@jordie99999 Hmmm, I don't recall it having wifi. It's possible, but this is one of Disney's bargain properties so there weren't a lot of frills. But perhaps someone who's stayed there more recently will know for sure...
@hisbigness no Wifi...still need the cable to get on the net from the room. No big deal...$9.95/day....but well worth it if you have to do business while the family has a good time.
Actually we recently decided to stay at the Buena vista suiets so we're not going here any longer:( BUT we're still going to disney world for sure!!! U have fun!
is this an already established hotel complex taken over by the disney co.? I ask because the building itself looks like a very average hotel with a cheaply themed plywood cutout overlay of nostalgic imagery.
Do the rooms beds have period pop culture sheets depicting such important films as starwars and e.t?
Given it's location - on the Disney resort complex - I expect Disney built Pop Century as opposed to taking it over. As one of their "Value" properties, it certainly is average at best, but it is a deal and it is conveniently located
Same here. i don't know what section I'm in tho but all of it looks really cool. We arent gonna spen a whole lot of time there bc we will be at disney world! rofl!!
We might try POP on our next visit in order to save on expenses. Our regular choice is Riverside as it is soo calm and quiet after dark - and the kids stay with parents and are not roaming. We are concerned about the noise, restaurant choices and large numbers of unsupervised kids roaming at all hours of the day and night at POP -We have found that some in the lower priced locations tend to let their kids run wild with no consideration for others.. Any bad experiences at POP?
My honest answer, while limited, is that you get what you pay for. I don't normally stay in "value" properties when I travel, but I decided that given the hours I'd be spending at a Park each day, this would be a good time to save on the hotel. The rooms are completely basic, restaurant choices are definitely limited and it certainly is packed with kids. Still, for an affordable night's rest and access to the Disney transit system I'd definitely stay there again
We stayed at Riverside before staying at POP and it was honestly just as great of an experience. Of course at Riverside it was more quiet outside while walking to the room, but in the room I didn't have any noise problems at POP. There is also no sit down restaurant at POP, but everything else was great. Food court was awesome, bus system was as good if not better than Riverside, and the theming is great and makes you wanna tour each decade to see their icons. Have a great trip!
I think the 50's, 70's and 80's were bordered by parking, and the 60's weren't that much farther away. I didn't have a car so I wasn't paying much attention, but I do remember a long stretch of parking along the front side of the resort.
thank you soo much. I just came back yesterday. the Resort was awesome, my room actually looks upon the Legendary Years resort, and the Computer Pool. I had an awesome time, thank you again for the wonderful video.
Will be staying here for the first time starting Tuesday! Thanks for a great preview!
