Their adjustable. The afr shock is a great xc shock, its stiff when it needs to be but plusher on the larger hits. This shock helps this bike climb like no other 6" bike. But I replaced mines with a dhx coil cause the afr shock isnt much of a dh shock. Not plush enough at all.
Just got a Enduro SL Expert 2010. The video just reflects the same feeling you get out the bike and it spells: F-L-O-W! The bike is sweet as candy can be. Got and get one, enjoy!
Enduro and Stumpy both rip on singletrack, both average to epic. If you ride a lot of rocks, roots, and small-medium jumps and drops then you'll want the Enduro. Otherwise, especially if true XC climbing is a priority, then you'll have an easier and better time with the Stumpy.
As far as the angles go, it's all in how fast you go. If you go damn fast on the downhills and want to feel stable and planted, the Enduro wins. The stumpy might feel a little bit squirrelly at warp speed.
In my opinion, the Enduro's downhill capabilities more than compensate for the hit you take in climbing lugging the extra weight and travel around.
As far as crowns go, I wouldn't be worried about the lack of triple crown forks on the non-Sworks versions. Triple crowns are almost entirely the domain of downhill forks - which have 50mm more travel than the E150 or the Fox forks on the Enduro. Lots of freeriders take huge drops on single-crown forks, and the Fox ones may well be better anyway.
I say that because Fox is a company that is well-known in the bike industry for making superb suspension components - that's all they do. Specialized, on the other hand, makes bikes first and suspension second.
Basically, I wouldn't worry about the lack of an extra crown. I don't think most people ride Enduros at speeds and on terrain that would demand the extra security/stiffness of those forks.
(If you find a deal on a used bike that looks good, I support taking it. Use money for new bits!
Yep, I've had an Enduro SL for a year now and it's the best all-around mtn bike I've ever owned... and my last bike was a Turner 5 Spot...which ain't no slouch either ! ;-)
Going up or down this bike just rocks... with 2008 internals on the e150 fork I haven't had any issues at all... one amazing bike ! :-)
I have the Enduro expert, paid £2000. Love it!!!! My only complaint is the e150 fork has a 25mm thru axle, when you decide to upgrade your wheelset you'll find no major manufacturer makes a front hub to fit. you have to stick to a spesh's own brand. If i'm wrong please tell me but i've tried the lot- 'HOPE, CHRIS KING, HENDLEY, SUN RINGLE'
I have heard great things about the Enduro SL, and know people who own the high-end aluminum version. I think the video was poor, It showed the bike on trails that could easily be ridden on a hardtail. I have ridden far more difficult trails in XC riding. If they are advertising for an all mountain bike, then show it doing some all mountain riding!!
These bikes are the best. They bring out the best in your riding and they are a very confident bike on the rough. I went from a lower mid range hardtail to my Enduro SL and its a whole other world. As good on the ups as it is on the downs. Do yourself a favour and buy one NOW!!! :)
there isn't any really, its rear suspension is on the hard side, its optimized for high speed hits, but its not good with square edged obstacles. the rear suspension is tuned in such a way that the low frequency 'bob' of pedalling doesnt open the damping valves, so its hard. You can reduce front travel to 4" and adjust the seat tube angle so its steeper to make it more like an xc bike. I commute in full 6" slack mode, soft compression, and its not a drag. the enduro sl is the king!
I came here from the specialized site to find out what song that was and thankfully someone had already posted it. if you decided you want this bike from watching the vid, you are right on. i just demo'd it this weekend and it was an incredible ride. it climbs way better than my 5" travel old school enduro- i am saving my money for sure now!
A marvel of modern engineering! Check out a complete assembly of the specialized demo 8 in my videos!

Hey Rally
I'm torn between the Stumpjumper and the Enduro.
I'm a tall guy (194cm) and weigh 100KGs, so the components will be working overtime.
Sales agents tell me the stumpjumper has a head angle that gives it more agility, but the Enduro has components that can take bigger hits.
Im not a DH rider, ideally I'd like XC riding ability with DH like durability.
How would you rate the Enduro on single track?
JustifyJustin 2 years ago
hi i rate the enduro its a god bike , for normal and offroad tracks.Ther performance is more then great =)
I hope i just help you.

Ishatawk> Thanks for the reply!
I'm seriously leaning towards the Enduro, and from what I hear, it isn't all that heavier/more difficult to climb on the uphills than a stumpy.
Something I'm a bit worried about is this year's model doesn't come with the full crown E150 (?) fork, but rather a typical XC style one.
Is this a very NB part of the Enduro, to such an extent that I should rather hunt down a used 2007 rather?
Tx again
