He didn't have a mic when he was pulled out. It was put on him right after Bill Bailey said "say 'out of order'." The show is shot with a live audience, but is edited before airing, so they can do things like that at the risk of disrupting continuity a little. Another indication of that is the scores often don't work out - it will be say 9-2, and the final team will get 3 right and end 9-7 or something like that.

Watching this straight after the Donny Tourette ep, Preston doesn't seem as much of a tit as on first viewing. At least he walked out when his wife was being insulted, not in over a joke made about him.
