Why don't they use the 1 platform for both directions temporarily instead of that contraption? Also, how ignorant are those people getting on that bridge before the train stops? They don't think about the people getting off?

weird they should of used a temporary platform and placed on the track like they did on the NYCTA's IRT White Plains Rd line north of Gun Hill rd station. And Flushing line during the 90s. But for a certain section of course.
Usually there are 2 bridgeplates set up at this station, set for the first and third cars, or if there are north end deadheads, the first open car and the third open car. Very unusual to have only one, Botanical Garden is a busy station.

doors open from 0:40 to 3:07 - 2:27 total - thats actually not that bad. Double bridge plates suck.
