I absolutely love this production! I don't care what people say about Nadja Michael's pitch problem - to a lay listener, a bit flat or sharp doesn't really make a difference in a chromatic score like this. I've never seen such cohesive narrative, striking visual, and deep characters in an opera such as in this production, and this dance is so incredibly appropriately set to the music: we get to see her innermost turmoils and darkest secrets, and she could be more naked in this dance.

I saw Nadja in SF's Salome. She was quite sensational, as well as the new conductor. SFO's woodwinds rock!

Here is the only production inwhich this silly dance becomes great theater. Michael is the finest SALOME today.
