At around 1000 Feet the beam is around 35", but this varies from Lidar to Lidar...the PL3 has a Tripple beam so it has different patterns.

Laser has different classes. This is a class 1 laser, 905 nanometers used for traffic enforcement. It's not a laser you see in James Bond that cuts people in half.

all cars should have built in radar detectors.and cops should always have their radar on. you know when you hear it go off, you will slow down. thus, if its always going off, you know you have a chance of getting a ticket= people driving slower.

By beamwidth i mean diameter. the beam would be similar shape to a spotlight only focused better.

Dont forget about the spot size ratio. i.e at 1000ft the laser beamwidth maybe 6-10ft across.

Check the units specifications for spot size ratio. i.e. 100:1 etc.
