  • Excellent music . Missing my own band days. North West Command Army Band Potchestroom 83 -84. Smallest band but one of the best.

  • Played with such a freedom and what an awesome control. I have been a conductor of an orchestra and appreciate the perfection of control over the band.

  • Loved it

  • das ist einfach nur spitze

  • One of the most creative Navy bands out there

  • The best Navy band in the world !!

  • Hey killerMouse! Just a question... not that I disagree with you... but why would you rate the SA Navy Band as the best in the world?

  • i ve seen so many navy bands ( USA, UK, CHINA and none of them can touch these guys !

  • The Uk doesn't have a Navy Band

  • @sevicat i remember in the 80's they were one of the worlds best. u wanna see them live mate. excellent

  • S.A makes us all proud. The first nation to bring the FIFA world cup to our continent. Well done Navy. VEry entertaining

  • amazing

  • love it=)

  • The Navy is probarbly the only respectable part of our military since 1994

  • This guy Willie van Zyl is such awesome on the whistle. Great to see South Africans working together..brown, black, white..

    The tune was well played.

  • That is what the instement later on in the music is but the first man is using a tinflute.

    Pelleoliekalle you are correct

  • it's a tinflute i think

  • It's called a penny whistle, cause in the old days it cost a penny to buy... It was an affordable instrument in townships in the 50s and 60s in SA. SA Township jazz often includes the penny whistle.

  • No the old white guy!

  • Love it,love it,love it.

  • Mango Groove :) Special Star

  • Hi. The guy playing the whistle is (Warrant Officer) Willie van Zyl, a totally awesome world class sax player. The conductor is Commander Mike Oldham. I used to be in this band - the Senior Staff band of the South African Navy when I worked in South Africa (Leading Seaman Simon Harpham) - trombone). They are based at Naval Base Simon's Town near Cape Town.

  • i could listen to this all day and never get tired of it one bit. i love the recorder in it. if im not mistaken thats a sopranino recorder. very beautiful. BRAVO!!!

  • good african music. thats style! great posting
