  • video has been helpful i bought a hunk of junk from pistonbikes i am very good mechanicly but every thing is not fitting i am extremely upset with this company 4 or 5 emails and they never responded but all n all these videos got me pret near done with minamal tools

  • Your vid is the best cuz its the only one i've seen to install a motorized bike. :D

  • you got links to the ebay advert you got the motor from ?

  • you should have drilled the holes first befor cutting your new engine mount, prevents possible drill press injurys

  • I bought the black one, but it arrived damaged from shipping. The guy sent me a silver replacement which was also damaged in shipping. I merged the good part from 1 motor to the other to get 1 complete motor.

  • im confused, why did you use the black one and eventually put the silver one on?

  • Let this be a lesson to you all; don't buy garbage from China! Buy American garbage the shipping is cheaper! Dont buy kits unless you have to! Get parts from bike shops and lawn mowers.

  • god i wish i had all those sanders and drills and extra metal. When i built mine it was such a pain in the ass at some points to get everything fitted and secure without all that stuff

  • This is fantastic Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for putting so much time into it! A rare high-quality tutorial.

  • thanks., great info :D can u tell me where to buy that vibration absorbing rubber online. ? cheaper ? i live in australia. and my my bikes pole was large, i forgot to cut the excess mounting bolt so after like few weeks, the vibration caused it to break. fixed that but removing the old ones and cutting the groves with a larger diameter so i can screw in a lareger bolt. then after another few weeks, the back bolts broke off. now im looking for the best way to mount the engine without vibration.

  • is 6061 going to be tough enough?

  • thanks... I guess.

  • u kinda sound like a pedo .... BUt this vid was the best iv seen soo far on how 2 install =) thz

  • my kit cost me 350 but is very high quality from blue icon cycles. I had exacly the same small problems as you with the mounts and the exhaust using a giant aluminium frame.

  • my kit cost me 350 but is very high quality from blue icon cycles.

  • Thanks!

  • awesome work shop

  • seriously anal

  • If you want to get a really good motor kit go to motovelo.us they have really great kits. the motor they sell will go between 30 and 35 mph they also have upgrade parts. their gas tank averages between 80 to 100 miles per fill up. Great customer service based in California. Great Company.

  • what is the horse power on an 80 cc motor

  • what is the kit called

  • I bought my motor from ebay. If I did it over again I'd spend a little more and get a better quality motor.

  • whats website did u buy the motor off

  • panofish...eggsClent vid....have you tackled an electric aftermarket kit yet?...this was so well done...i've passed it on to some curious nubies who got tons of info from your detailed, clean, audible, informative video....a benchmark for this type of home production. thanks

  • You are very detailed and helpful. I'm hoping that this helps my son getting his Chinese kit. He is having a lot of problems getting the engine to get started. Would love to get some advice.

  • Are you sure your sprocket is on right? Ahould't the pads sandwhich the spokes?

  • pretty kool...

  • I am curious which kit this is and what size? Also, how is it to ride without the motor running? Do you notice it?

  • Skip the music

  • great vid. Good job. And I have to complement you on your tools and garage. How do you keep it so clean??

  • excellent vid..just subscribed

  • whats the are measurements for the bottom plate can you please help i really need them ..

  • I have no formal training in machine shop. The web and a few books have been my teachers... I recommend the MIT machine shop videos...

  • Thanks for your useful videos. Sir, where did you get your machining skills? If I want to have those skills, and I don't want to work in that field, just for my own needs... is there some training, a certificate...etc? Something that's not so academic. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

  • i watched all 3 of the vids and my question is does the kit work for the newer bikes without having to do all the extra work because i dont have all those tools

  • @bitlhninja there's a lot of custom work here that's pretty avoidable if you just get a bike with a suitable frame. Just one with tubes that aren't as thick as this guy's.

  • You could of put a spacer between your bottom bracket and your crank arm instead of having to bend the muffler

  • so what is the website did u search for the parts?

  • She's not that fast... the engine one of the cheaper ones from ebay... it would only do 20mph, but I've heard the quality motors can do 30-35mph or more. I haven't actually measure fuel mileage, but it should be anywhere from 60-90mpg.

  • yo i gotta a few questions

    how fast can it go?

and like how much fuel does it need?

  • a well explained video/tutorial.... well done!

  • that's a nice jig

  • where did you buy it and how many cc's is it

  • You had all those problems because you had the wrong bicycle for the kit. The most compatible models are the Beach Cruisers. Some companies in my country sell them very professionally assembled.

  • Nice video. Gave me a few ideas. Thanks.

  • i got a starfire engine , the mounts are welded on the bike no more loose bolts.

i also welded the gas tank mounts also no more loose tank due to vibration.

built a custom chain tensioneer amd changed all the chinese bolt and screws of the kit with new ones. I also threw away the bottom head gasket and used reinz black head silicone also no more loose head bolts and increased cmpression.

The bike is being treated so harshly i'm amazed it has survived all these 2 years, every dirt trail it goes

  • top speed of these is typically 25-35mph

  • Fucken awesome video bro... I'm planning on making one to so thanks for the upload.

  • kinda like watching paint dry

  • cheers i enjoyed watching this ,, your work is tidy and the bike looks good fun !!!

  • Can you please send me one of the engines if you are not using it sir. Im really thinking of getting a motor bike, but if you can send me one of those it would be great.

  • awesome video, way better than others

  • Finally, A video that shows all the problems. Thank you so much!

  • it won't be long before all the Communists try to make this illegal

  • will you send me the complete description and estimate cost of the project

  • i wish i could do this to my bike although over here in england were cant

  • I don't have that engine anymore.. I am planning to install my honda tiller motor with a friction mount. Sorry, I can't help.

  • Thank you for your videos, they are very educational and you are extremely mechanically inclined. I had a question on the clearance of the engine and the crank. Yours came very close. Would you happen to know the distance from the center of the engine mount to the edge of the case (longer side)? I want to get one but don't know if it will fit my bike.

  • your definately rich haha but nice bike man

  • not very good shipping, noticed big crack in motor, would of sent it back.

  • This is a neat project. Mostly all of these videos they don't look as neat. B ut this one does!

  • it is calls a gob

  • i am buying a motor set of ebay its comming in 4 days so happy cant wait

  • dammn u have all the tool a man would want.....

  • you had to do alot of mods to get it all on i just put it straight on

  • Awesome job man, Looks like a factory made set of brackets you made...

  • hey what do you think about the 4-stroke 49cc engine Kit that comes with the belt transmission? I would like to get one like that for my bike.

  • thats the best video on youtube for motorized bicycles.

this video is a instruction... Thanks panofish.

    5*

  • looks like i need some tools

  • is youre one leaking used oil out of the top of the exhaust??? mine is :/

  • I got mine on ebay, but those are the cheaper ones. Try these places: spookytoothcycles bikeberry and kingsmotorbikes

  • did you get to keep the black one...or did you have to send it back

  • @americanboy64 ... I got to keep it :)

  • @panofish I woulda kept it too, Old engines are fun to play with.

  • great video, good job man u r a smart, organized man. with lot of patiene.

this video helped me alot. thanks

  • you hade to modifie alot of pieces

  • @woodshuck Near the beginning of the video I explained that the ebay seller sent me an engine that had damage in shipping... so they sent a replacement... which also had some damage. I merged good parts to make 1 good engine. Early on... I used the black engine to layout position on the frame.

  • @panofish ah ok

  • The kit is one of the cheap ones on ebay and didn't have a brand name. I would recommend a better branded one.

  • what is the kits brand or name?

  • hey man these are a good set of videos

it made me order a kit

also i admire your patients and willingness to do everything perfectly

good job and keep up the good work!

  • Wow, one needs a lot of equipment to do that adaptation.

  • i hear alot of people burn their legs on that muffler or engine, have you put something in between to protect you from that sort of inceident.

  • @arijunal No burning here... my legs are longer than average. I think the main thing is to be aware the muffler is very hot... same as a motorcycle muffler which also has no protection.

  • @panofish how fast can these go sir? :)

  • do think that you can do the same thing to and old eletric scooter?

  • well done awsome vids but i hope i dont hav to go through as much as u......lol. we will see next week when my kit arrives

  • hey nice video not a real fan of theses kits seems to never be a direct bolt on always some fab work involved buts it fun check out my page for all you 49CC NEEDS

  • Hey panofish, approx how long did it take for full assembly?

    Thanks!!!

  • Thanks for that, that's really helpful!!! :]

  • I got the kit from ebay... there are many different kits on ebay. My kit wasn't the best quality. You'll have to pay more for better quality.

  • Wt's the website u got the kit from!?

    Please tell me!

  • Go to my website (top right under panofish author) for part 2 and part 3.

  • Hi, please part 2, very good!!

  • Great video, check out mine!
