PVR Tutorial - Import M2TS to Movie Maker and Vegas NO CONVERTING

still doesnt work for me dude. downloaded so many codec packs its not even funny. when i go to import file to movie maker it says the file is not a supported file type. i dont get it. any help would be greatly appretiated.

@imabussuupson I don't know why it would work on my computer and not yours (or anyone else's). I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium...that might be the difference.

Deadset, i install the codecs and everything, then i click vegas import my videos then it still crashes, i paid so much money for this pvr and yep doesnt want to work, im so pissed off..

I have Windows Vista Basic. I edited a video, and went to the "publish movie" screen at 1:45.

There is none of those HD options to select. Is it because I don't have the codecs, or is it because of the version of Vista I have in my computer?

The frame rate for these m2ts files that crash Sony Vegas is being reported as 119.880 for me, are any of you having this problem?

I Downloaded the Codec Pack (I used a 64-bit) and My Sony Vegas 10e and 9e will freeze whenever I play m2ts videos. PLEASE HELP!

@SGExoTic try using mp4, it doesnt degrade the quality, it just uses a less compressed h.264 container, or try restarting your computer, or even reinstall, and when it comes to the first check boxes with the list of codecs (remember not the accosiation with windows media player page) and tick all boxes, the right codec might not be a standard install

This does not work for vegas pro. B/c it still freezes no one has a solution for this bug. Converting the M2TS file only reduces the quality thus it destroys the whole purpose of recording the game in HD. Might aswell use a Dazzle 100 if your gonna convert it. I had this issue ever since I captured my game play in 1080p and imported it into vegas pro. Now my vegas pro is rejecting 1280x 720 videos that normally get edited and rendered with no problem. This issue will not be solved for a while.

@skilletoif3 maybe I shouldve said it doesnt work for Vegas Pro 10e which is the latest update today. I guess I'll download Vegas Pro 8 to see any difference being made. Ive searched in Google and saw that even Vegas 8 and 9 users were having the same issue as mine. It sounds like its a codec corruption within the vegas software. B/c it used to work with M2TS videos before I attempted to use 1080p videos on it. This issue is heavily common the guy SkuxTrick has the same problem as me.

@skilletoif3 I can Confirmed that Vegas Pro 9.0 works with M2TS videos. I simply installed it with(No Updates) and it works fine.

@iCamSkiEz Yes I did actually the problem is that the new HD PVR drivers is the cause of the Vegas Pro crash. Its a driver bug that makes the PVR capture videos in 119.880fps which vegas pro cant identify it and it crashes. To fix this you need to uninstall the new drivers and re install the old ones using your Disk. 1.5 is the old driver that will make your videos work in vegas pro back to normal

@skilletoif3 M2TS, the codecs made a bit of a difference, like i could see a frozen picture of the preview and it would take an extra, say 5 seconds, before it crashed.

IDK if you would know anything about this but it seems that my pvr is recording at the frame rate of 119 fps? :O i know it sounds impossible as the console frame rate is capped at 60 ( I THINK) but if i match media my clip in vegas it says its 119 frame rate. Is this the reason its crashing? If it is how do i fix it?

@klsgamer1115 hmm I guess just keep trying different codec packs that are made for you pc type. I have 8.0 and 9.0 and the codecs work on both.

I downloaded the codecs but my Sony Movie Studio keeps crashing when I try to upload .m2ts files. Was there something I was suppose to do during the installation?

@louie540x I'm not sure if the codecs will work with sony movie studio. All I know is it worked for me with sony vegas.

Movie Studio is Vegas but watered down a little and so it doesn't read the m2ts files. Luckily, I upgraded from version 9 to version 10 and it works now.

@zanaik well I know that my vegas doesn't import MP4 with or without codecs. But it will add a lot of stuff to help play different file types.
