Yea I never recommend rfx 75 once you drill the holes you have a junk 29 also you cant run a 1 to 4 pill amp anymore so whats the point for 3/4 of an s unit. I dont think so

Nice rig. I keep my Galaxy DX99V for my main rig. That's my favorite. I like the 75 watt amp for sure. A lot of folks like to just have one loud clear CB with no box to fool with. I keep a steady supply of 2SC1969 final transistors and 2SC2166 drivers in stock. Very hard to come by but this guy I know has his own little company in England. $8 for the 1969 and $5.50 for the 2166. Many many installs and never a fail. Most Cobras can get 5-7 swinging 30-35 easy.
The radio need's re-tuning there guy. The receive sound's like poop and and the needle only comes up, looks to me like, to around S3. The mod is a nice one to do on a 29 wx nw st because it's a nice radio to begin with (I personally have one myself). You just need to re-tune and you'll be DXing with that rig in style!! Good Luck!!

i got a 40 watt transistor off ebay when I had mine, and put a super swing kit in her.. Mine did the same thing.... The transistor was from china or some shit but mine didnt have that big lug on the back and put out 40 bird watts

yea i wouldn't think the radio led's should dim down that much unless you need to upgrade your power cord and boost up that power supply and really all that work for 75 watts??? seams over rated miss those old 2sc1969 a alot easier to me lol
@allenward69 a bigger power cord is needed 8 to 10 amp power supply is then good and changing the regulator in the radio will give it better results and less dimming as well . this is a start . take care

cobra and uniden radios are more reliable the exports are o.k as long as you do not 4x4 with them or put them in a dump truck , the add on kit could be better constucted as i had a few wires fall off from the factory solder they used . have a nice day
I think you can get atleast close to 40w mod.with out touching the finals.Or just put a swing kit in so your keyin 2 dead and swingin 12 like my 25 and put it through a 350 texas star 2pill.You will walk all over this 75w.25 no prob.

8 amp power supply was used just to show the radio , a 15 to 20 amp supply is best or direct to a car battery . thank you .
