@Rogerio34567 actually he's not... thats a midfoot strike, ask any biomechancs expert to look at his footstrike and they will all say midfoot. there are also photos of him in his running phase and at no point does his heel make contact before anything.

I think Hicham would struggle to crack 1:44 in the 800m. His speed endurance is what makes him phenomenally good, but to run a 1:43, you need to be able to go through in around 50s, which is probably abit faster than Hicham could run comfortably.

El G could've run 1.43 dead, no problem. You go on his 1500 and he'd need 1.43-1.44 capability to maintain 1.50 tempo for 3.75 laps. If he's a 1.45-46 runner, he's already tired after about 1000m. It's just common sense.

Hicham is a Legend even in Kenya but no one gives a shit of his world records.

Why is Deano called a loser for disagreeing? Calling people racist these days is the calling card of someone with no truth on their side. I think Hicham is the greatest 1500 guy ever, but he didn't have any chance at the 800 record. If he did, he would have gone for it, just like he went for the 3 k record. He missed, but he gave it a shot. I think El G probably could have run 1:42+ but he couldn't have stayed with a top form Kipketer, Coe or Cruz over two laps.

Wikepedia is littered with mistakes and inaccuracies. It's obvious that whoever wrote that profile is a very big EL G fan, probably funkymario himself! Lol! I'm not doubting that someone in ELG's camp has claimed he ran a time trial of that nature, but it would have been hand timed, therefore up to 0.4 secs out, would probably have pacemakers for each of the 200m quarters, and at the end of the day doesn't count because there is no proof!

Likewise it states in Coe's book "Running Free" that he ran 45 mins for a 10 mile training run in 79, inside the existing WR! But this is not proven. I don't doubt that had EL G ran a few 800m that he could have run under 1:44, but to claim 1:42.7 without any "concrete" evidence is misleading. Certainly the IAAF wouldn't recognise it.

yes i dont know he didnt try the 800m comon sense tells that maybe he is not good at this distance? however he run 7 23 in the 3000m and was the only race at this distance why he didnt try again?????

so only el guerrouj knows the answers however he never thought of running the 800m he said he will switch to longer distances after the age of 30 and try to take the 3000 5000 WR but he stopped his carrier.

just after this 2003 season el guerrouj had a hard winter season he didn't train that much. i just cant believe it 8 years of domination for el guerrouj. never ger injured never had a abd season always ran easly under 3.30. ur the man that the world will never have again. dima dima hicham.
