  • Great edit.. this is amazing.

  • one of these days alice, one of these days! im going to stimulate the economy by buying an american car..

  • Alice - The great feminist!

  • Newt's moon project

  • Alice owns..... Even in 2012!!

  • OMG I was having a bad day until I came here. I just couldn't stop laughing. THANK YOU YOU TUBE!!!

  • Jackie Gleason, as he did with Art Carney (Norton), found the perfect counterpoint to the big, bellowing bully that was Ralph Kramden in Audrey Meadows' Alice. But all the yelling, all the threats, all the insults between the two only worked because fans knew how much Ralph and Alice truly and deeply loved each other. Thanks for posting this wonderful collection of clips.

  • @agatematt Thanks for writing something so nice.

  • One of these days, pow, right in the kisser! In my opinion, the standard that all television quotations are measured against.

Here's hoping you have a Merry Christmas.

  • bravo!! bravooooo!!!!

  • Pow right in the kisser.

  • Bang! Zoom! What a treat! Thanks for the laughs!!!!

  • 8:53 BANG! ZOOOOOOM!

  • And after all that shouting that Ralph have given Alice, she didn't even flinch!

  • try to watch this without grinning or Laughing :)

  • hahahahahahahaha :D

  • 4:32 best hahah!

  • What happened to the times... :(

  • Im Trying to Do a Ralph Kramden Imitation for A Play im in. Anyone Give me soem tips.

  • Ah, the '50s, the golden age of threatening wives with beatings.

  • That was funny.

You haven't got any sense of humor.

    Oh yes i do, i married you didn't i.

    lmao

  • No matter how ralph treated alice at the end of the show he always says baby your the greatest.

  • looks like john goodman's father

  • I loved that show. It made me laugh b4 going 2 bed played on channel 11. I wouldn't describe this show as 'a domestic violence' show back in those days!!!! It's more of a marriage with a verbal abusive husband!!! completely different from domestic violence!!!!

  • Their apartment always appeared to be about 90 deg., smelly and stuffy.

  • Not so funny looking back. Very threatening and abusive. I have 3 daughters and any husband of theirs who spoke to them in this fashion would go : BANG ZOOM, TO THE MOON. POW,...RIGHT IN THE KISSER !

  • All i can think of is Princess Celestia when i hear "one of these days, straight to the moon!", If your aBrony you'll understand ^^)

  • "One of these days, Alice" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic... Just the way a man should take control and how a woman is to be able to respond without ever being touched... Not a threat just a feeling.. This is so classic. This was a man who is a genius! Respect what our elders teach us we can learn alot about respect...

  • RALPH: Peanuts? What am I supposed to do with peanuts? ALICE: Eat 'em like every other elephant. LOL

  • @ilovesidneypoitier BANG, ZOOM!!

  • I hope he does actually punch her in the last episode

  • TO THE MOON ALICE, TO THE MOON!!

  • Aaaaahh back in the days when casual domestic violence was both accepted and encouraged.

  • "The 1950's. When threatening spousel abuse was considered funny!'

  • Jackie Gleason wasn't an astronaut, he was just using space travel as a metaphor for beating his wife

  • I met Alice in person!

  • I liked the part where he said "one of these days, one of these days, pow right in the kisser"

  • One of these days Ndenda, bam! Zoom! Straight to the 3rd moon of Omicron Persei 8.

  • @gunninlinguist Omicron Persii-eye 8

    :-)

Your version is correct but mine sounds similar to how he pronounces.

  • I never thought domestic violence could be such a blast! And to think this show won Emmy Awards back in the day... Lord have mercy!

  • 8:25 my favorite part

  • why the hell am i watching this?

    but etherway FANTASTIC JOB!

  • The thing about these couples is, they appear unhappy, but they have GREAT SEX!

  • her saying it FAIL.

  • Homina homina homina!

  • Aaaaashaddap

  • 2:00

    3:25

    4:38

    LOL

  • God i just love the "Honeymooners". A show where the husband is always threatening his wife with physical abuse & violence! Because the husband is the MAN of the house! "ONE OF THESE DAYS ALICE! ONE OF THESE DAYS!", how come we dont have anymore shows like that? "POW RIGHT IN THE KISSER"

  • How come Ralph never hit Alice?

  • @Mavericker7 cos dats spousal abuse.....

  • @Mavericker7 Because spoucal violence isn't funny?

  • @Mavericker7

The technical reason was that it was wrong (and still is) for a man to hit a woman. That'd never get past the network censors back then. The threat was always played to comedic effect - especially when she told him to shut up. But despite his frustration, he really did love Alice and realized he was a very lucky person indeed. Most episodes, Ralph was wrong, and she'd forgive him. How many times did the show end with him saying 'Baby, you're the greatest?'

  • I loved the Honeymooners, but the whole "pow, right in the kisser:" was my least favorite part of it. It makes Ralph sound like an abusive husband.

  • @RootsinBrooklyn He is, POW! Right in the Kisser

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, this is classic - and I'm glad things aren't even remotely like this. LoL :)

  • 'I AM GOING!'

You gotta love how Alice could get as loud as Ralph when necessary.

  • i LOOOOVE THEEEESE!!! Thank YOU!!!! XD XD XD!!

  • so this is what it would be like if george constanza and elaine got married

  • Despite it all, they did love each other :)

  • And that kids, is how the first woman got to the moon

  • @7:00 How'd you like to go sailin' over the clubhouse????!!!!!!! LMAO

  • Alice is foxy .

  • Damn good job you did on these! I saw both of the ones you put together....Gleason(may he rest in peace) would love 'em!!!

  • @wolverinet86r It's good to laugh--especially these days. Thanks for writing.

  • This was socially acceptable back in the 1950's, try putting something like this on TV today with such consistency. Im glad I dont live in an era where women have to put up with this.

  • @jimbxny eeehhh shut up. POW!!! RIGHT IN THE KISSER!

  • The one at 2:00 with the raccoon hat is the best

  • Abusive relationships have never been so funny.

  • This is more of "Pow Right In The Kisser".....or "One Of These Days".not "To The Moon"

  • alice is hot, no wonder he stuck around thru so much bulls---... oh, and i guess he loved her or sumtin

  • 1 OF THESE DAYS POW RIGHT IN THE KISSER LMAO

  • CLASSIC TV

  • POW RIGHT IN THE KISSER!!!

  • i remember the bang zoom at 8:51 it was in back to the future 1 its show ralph dresses up as a man from space. did you know that episode was aired on nov 12 1955 for the first time and they show this in the movie on nov 5 1955 1 week now thats what i call a paradox

  • I always liked watching reruns of this show with my dad when I was young, it's a classic no doubt! what I find funny though is that so many people (particularly older people) complain that tv now is brutal and sets an awful example for kids, but this was acceptable. Not saying I have a problem with this show- it's just a show! A funny show at that. I'm just saying it's kind of ironic.

  • ahhhh shaddap

  • Best 10 minutes I ever spent on YouTube.

  • @maxpowers518 You're a sweet kid.

  • @maxpowers518 The fuckin best!

  • 1:05 WHOSE A HAPPY BIG MOUTH

    WHOSE A HAPPY BIG MOUTH

  • I loved this show growing up. My favorites "Aah Shaddup and You're the king of nuthin'" When my husband and I have a disagreement, to diffuse it I always use the line Alice says "AAAAAH SHADDUP" It gets a laugh and smile everytime...

  • would have benn funny if he did hit her lol

  • heheh...... Bang, Zoom...

  • LOL I had to watch this after my grandma just called my Uncle the name "Ralph Kramden" because of his huge stomach ROFL!

  • is this the guy who influence characters like Seinfeld, George Costanza and Kramer? i can see the similarities...

on another note, i can't imagine this show being too successful/popular today. a show that almost encourages wife beating!

  • @2:49 Alice looks and sounds sexy when she says "will you let me have it..."

  • Broken promises. He said he'd beat her and he never did.

  • 09:01 Best comeback line from Alice!!!

  • Aaaaah, shaddap.

  • Time. that's something people would say in the 80s & 90s. Lmao this was an awesome show and Jackie Gleason a true comedic genius RIP.

  • @10:40 "that's ok but don't make any noise when you hit the floor..." that line was waaay ahead of its

  • I'm glad he's all talk and no walk.

  • At 10:08 Alice's grin is harilous and creepy at the same time. XD

  • Gleason really gained weight throughout this show. He looks so large in later episodes

  • @AbuBishir That says something about either Alice's cooking or the only kind of food she was able to prepare on Ralph's stingy allowance! (wink)

  • I loved this show watching it when i was lil in the 80s. A classic!!!

  • one of this days one of this days pow! right in the kisser! eh shut up! :) lol

  • 2:15 woman wearing pants in 1950's?

  • We always loved this show growing up. Then once, I got thinking how I couldnt blame Alice. She's stuck in this dirty apt all day. He works and comes home with his demands. Maybe goes to the Racoon lodge with Norton. Once in a while Trixie comes down, but she never get out of this rat hole apt much. Then has to put up with his big mouth too. Lucy was the same thing only nicer home. Always wondered why Ricky wouldnt let her out either. ESP she could not come down to the club. mmm ?

  • @beadsandbraids This is really a perceptive comment. Thanks for writing! Both Ralph and Ricky were jealous, possessive husbands, to be sure. But while Lucy was a restless complainer and active rebel about her "home status," Alice was more resigned. Occasionally, her long-suffering patience cracked and she'd cut and slash with her wonderful deadpan sass; but, truly, in the end she seemed to love life AND her big palooka in spite of "everything."

  • I just read NASA is sending Eugene Shoemaker's ashes to the moon. I propose they send Audrey Meadow's ashes as well...Thank you for this well done compilation.

  • @Sailbadthesinner666 Cute, Sailbad, cute. Thanks for writing!

  • AWY THE GOOD OLD DAYS .NO WONDER THAY NEVER HAD KIDS

  • basically she made mince meat out of him

  • she flinches every time he swings his fist

  • one a these days

  • We watched Jackie Gleaon, live, in our un-air-conditioned house, when all the neighbors were doing the same. Johnny Olsen was the announcer ("And away we go!")

Then, Jackie Gleason and staff, including the June Taylor Dancers, boarded a private train to Miami Beach, "the Sun and Fun Capitol of the World"!

Later, in an interview, he denied he was dying of lung cancer. He said the doctors said he had the lungs of a 17-year-old. And then he died.

I'd live that life, any day.

  • I've hear that in the fifth season they were planning to actually make him punch her in the face every time he said that! WOW History is so amazing to learn...

  • Bugs bunny must of watched this show......

  • She's hot. Too bad there no white women like her anymore.

  • 1:58

    3:04

    3:25

    3:55

    4:35 (Gotta pull a muscle!)

    5:18

  • BANG...........ZOOM..........LOL!

  • man back then domestic violence was hilarious.

  • @aglewi41 ; Did you notice there was no violence, they only talked about it; but they never laid a hand on each other.

  • Ralph always threatened but never did it cuz he knew Alice would put him in a wheelchair! LMAO

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa shud up

  • So it IS true that he used that as a metaphor for beating his wife!

  • these were the condition back in the days ~ and it's still going on today! *shame*

    .

    thanks for the vid! *thumbs_up*

  • Their tragedy is childlessness !

  • nice job on this

  • I like the young Alice from the lost episodes, she was skinnier. 0:39

  • Domestic violence has never been funnier!

  • Alice= Queen.

  • how many days do u have Ralph?

  • i love this man

  • One of these days Alice, one of these days! Pow, murder suicide!

  • I love da Honey Moonerz! Real TV.

  • Wow! Im really enjoying this!! man i miss da Honey mooners!!

  • I wonder if he ever "accidentally" hit her during shooting.

  • Alice was freaking hot

  • In Mexican translations.. spanish is "Pow, Directo a la Luna, means "Pow, Right to the Moon"

Now, I don't get it, what is the real sentence? is "Right in the Kisser" or "Right to the Moon"?

  • @gohj1089 neaaaahhh... shut up! =))))))))

  • ah shut up

  • one of these days pow

    ah shut up

  • One of these days ! Gleason and the whole staff was excellent and miss them dearly !

  • ehhhh shut up!! classic alice.... i sure love her.

  • 62$ a week is good isnt it

  • Wonder how many fat drunk men back in the 50's who accidently hit their wives by imitating this, when trying to be funny xD

  • 2:00

    LOL

  • i'm 14 and i love shows like this and laurel and hardy

  • The good old days. We men were men and girls were girls. America the great.

  • i love this show i am 18 and i love old films and this was a funny show

  • I liked it much better when he'd say, "BANG!!!! ZOOOOOOM!"

  • I am looking for an episode where Ralph was telling Alice a joke that he wrote for a speech and had his raccoon hat & jacket but he had no pants. Alice had his pants cleaned or something but as Ralph told the joke ( i think it involves beavers) I remember Ralph saying:

Ralph: "So you don't think it's funny?

Alice: "I don't think it's funny at all"

Ralph: "So you don't think the guys would laugh at that huh"

Alice pauses for a second and goes: "Only if your pants don't arrive"

  • Northbreed, thank you so much, this is exactly what the doctor ordered for me to laugh like mad....could always count on when Alice would make fun of Ralph and his weight, the "Bang, Zoom" was coming. lol

  • I will incorporate this somehow. Very funny.

  • 10 mins of epicness I laughed nonstop

  • My dad did this routine at 7:32-7:53.

  • 5:50 LOL!

  • I love how people used to watch this and think its funny....

  • @TheMohdd00 cause it was and is funny....thats the difference with the shows today to yesterday....the shows today dont even come close to the comedy they dished back then, perfect example is this show is 1952-1956, here we are in 2010, and the show is still going strong with millions and millions of fans, including young people like myself today....I could never laugh at a show like I do this one and I Love Lucy, Bewitched....

  • @TheMohdd00 It is funny. It's just nowadays everything is politically correct because of uptight people.

  • @Zipperman2000

Hitting your wife isn't just politically incorrect, but also morally incorrect.

  • @ObamaIsPathetic its 50,s comedy, lighten up gleason was the best!!!

  • I don't see how people think the show was chauvanistic. She always put Ralph in his place.

  • @TommyRoastBeef76

Erm... a husband threatens to punch his wife "pow, right in the face", and you can't see how that might just be a little "chavanistic" [sic]? Geez.

  • @BigLoveFanatica Fred Flinstone was based on Ralph Kramden

  • 8:51 - AH HO HO HO! BANG! ZOOM!

  • man she was a looker and tough too

  • And Alice stands her ground and gets the last word in.

  • HAHAHAHAHA ........best show ever

    Thank you:)

  • Bang! Zoom!

Gleason was truly the Great One!!

  • Alice was a doll. I wonder if Gleason ever clocked her by accident. :p I hope not!

  • my dad loved jackie.i guess we knew how to take humor in the 50's.this is great!

  • exactly what i was looking for when trying to describe Ralph and Alices relationship...and where i get "Pow, right in the kisser"
