The UK wouldn't have defeated anybody if they weren't stealing the oil from Iran. Iranian oil was the only oil the UK had & Anglo Iranian was their most profitable company in the 40s.

The British Embassy report FO 371 16077 E2844 acknowledges that the British put Reza "on the throne". Not only do Field Marshall Ironside's diaries acknowledge it, but so do Anthony Eden's memoirs.
