  • @dcfcpagedcfc

Hi, if I was you i would first take it back apart and double check all of the connection plugs to the motherboard, maybe one is not fully connected, i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • @Johnxee88 yes it would be great if you could give me a more detailed tutorial also instead of screws i have a blue thing there instead will i still be able to change my housing :)

  • Is your screwdriver t5??

  • can't find a screwdriver that small!!

  • i didnt get that big blue tool thing, instead i got snet 2 screwdrivers and a green triangle thing, can you tell me what to do with this? please answer ASAP

  • @Caraagh

Hi, the triangle pry toll can also lift up the front screen but it is a little harder to use, if you have difficulties using it, then you could try a blunt knife or your finger nail, also use a hair dryer to heat the screen up before you attempt to remove it, this will soften the glue and make it easier to remove, also be careful as the screens have two layers, do not separate them as the screen will become unusable,

    i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • Can U Change The Rubber Bit?

  • i had a problem where the actual clear plastic of the old cover was stuck tight to the lcd screen. I would recommend heating it lightly first with a hairdrier :) worked for me anyway.

  • @ColinLadd

Hi, spot on, in the tutorial videos i did a few months ago on how to change the LCD and middle frame i used a heat gun, made it so much easier, anyway thanks for commenting,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • I jus did it!! It all worked fine but the screen :( u didn't mention we had to put a sticky thingy jus so it doesn't happen to any one else ..nom my screen is a lil wrong :( but nice vid it showed me how to do everything else

Lol just seen this comment, glad you got it done, this was only a demo video, have made some really helpful step by step guides, if ever you need to change the middle frame or LCD let me know and i will send you the videos, thanks for your comments,

  • @momolalaha

Hi, i will send you a couple of step by step tutorials that may help, then you can make up your own mind, to be honest it's not that hard to do, and the risks are minimal,

    kind regards,

  • very helpful thank you! but does the case not break whilst taking it off? can you re-use it after?

  • @XpanteaX

Hi, with the 8520 it is a little tricky to take apart without cracking the housing, but can be done, but normally you can still reuse it, It normally cracks at the bottom, anyway i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • how do you get that new screen? 3:40

Hi, go to sw-box.com and search Blackberry replacement parts for 8520, you will find all the spares you need, I hope this helps,

    Neill.

  • k thanks I will try

  • Nice tutorial but i ordered this white one from my supplier and the top part won't snap on properly. How do I fix it?

  • @Meshy16

Hi, you must start by snapping on the top first, put on the top and then pull it down that should clip it into place, then snap the rest of the housing on, i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • @sashastarrock

Hi, i will send you a Pm with some tutorials that will help you,

  • PLEASE REPLY TO THIS QUESTION!! One you put your neew front on do you have to screw the screws back in?

  • @LPStelly

Hi, thanks for your great comments, and yes please put your screws back in, this is a demo video not a tutorial, i have a very good tutorial that i talk you through it step by step, please let me know if you want me to send it to you, if not then good luck,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • Oh god My mum orderd one of ebay and i was soo scared incase it would brak but this actuall heplted me and looks quite easy thanks so much :]! xxx

  • I having loads of trouble getting one of the screws out, I've tried both screw drivers but it's really wedged in, is there anything else i can do to fix that?

  • @SpankkMyToaster

Hi, it's a common problem with the blackberrys, now in most cases you have to put much more force down on the screw head and unscrew at the same time, also make sure the screw driver is in the screw head fully so it bites correctly as you may find your torx screw driver is just spinning, now if none of this helps, please come back to me,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • I just finished doing mine, and my screen is raised higher and my track pad in the center is now lower so it is harder to get at.. just wondering if there is a way to fix that? Let me know :)

    Thanks for the video!

  • @asmokeet I just noticed that at the bottom of the screen yours as small slits/openings but mine does not.

  • @asmokeet

Hi, make sure you have'nt got anything stuck under the screen like some dirt, alse make sure the adhesive is sitting flat on the screen as when you took the screen off you may have moved some of it, that should allow you to sit the screen down better and put the trackpad back into place, i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • OK. I got one today, but I have one screw out, but a problem with the other? (Its either in too tight, but the screwdriver isn't helping, either.) Any help? x

  • @MissxRosiex

Hi, okay you can try the next size screw driver up, so if your using a T5 torx screw driver then try a T6, also you may need to push the screw driver harder down so push down and unscrew at the same time, they are in there pretty tight so it may help if you use more force, if this does not help, then please come back to me,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • @Johnxee88 Thanks, that worked! x

  • Will this work for 8530?

  • @tkooper23

Hi, yes it will, i can send you a better step by step tutorial if it will help you, just let me no,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • @Johnxee88 ok thanks ! That will be lovely . Also, is sw-box still reliable?

  • I was just wondering of you can use the screen that you took off first again?!

    Thanks

  • @XxsydnixponiesxX

Hi, yes you can but don't leave the screen off for more than 30mins as the adhesive will dry up and it will not stick down, also if it's black and not white you may not like the look, but yes you can reuse it,

    i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • i have tried doing this and when i wanted to unscrew the screws on the back i accidently unscrew them too hard so now the screws wont have any grip and i dont know what to do please REPLY ASAP i beg you i am really upset and if you have any ideas of what i could do please tell me

    Neill.

  • hi, i have just changed my housing but for some reason the top of the housing wont click on. Why????? REPLY ASAP Please

  • @TheKyleCallear

Hi Kyle, when you install the housing you have to start at the top first, pull it over the top of the middle plate and then pull it down, then click the rest of the housing into place, i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • good 4 cutter?

  • @ThePinkpantherbaby1 sorry i have no idea what you mean?

    Neill.

  • Thanks Neil ,Just wanted to make sure that the screws did go back .Great tutorial mate .

  • @trsuk1

Hay thanks Terry, if you need anything else just ask,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • why didn't you put the screws back in?

  • @mycodenameiskatie

Hi, its just a demo video, if you would like a full tutorial then i will be happy to send you one, also we did'nt put the screws back in because we use the phone for testing, our QC team check our housing kits out everyday, so we just don't put the screws back in, if you change your housing please put all the screws back in,

    i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • Can I ask why you never replaced the two little screws you took out the back

  • @trsuk1

Hi, its just a demo video, if you would like a full tutorial then i will be happy to send you one, also we did'nt put the screws back in because we use the phone for testing, our QC team check our housing kits out everyday, so we just don't put the screws back in, if you change your housing please put all the screws back in,

No your tutorial was good! I just wouldnt recommend anyone to do this,

It isnt worth the risk! I wasnt careful enough, but i have a replacemeant now!

    Neill.

  • You should have took your time mate it went fine for me a great tutorial thanks to Neil

  • what is that sticker above were the battery is, the one with the numbers on it ?

  • @TheJscr96

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • If I buy a faceplate set for 8520 will it work with 9300? Because I can't find any sets for 9300.

  • @CeyhunFirat1

Hi, i will send a personal message to you in your youtube channel, with a link to help you,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • my screen sticks up a bit and the buttons on the screen, like the ring, hang up and back button keep flapping up? idk what to do? i took it off, and there is sticky stuff under it, not glue? something else, idk how to take the sticky stuff off?

  • @RandomizerVandilizer

Hi, Blackberry uses like a double sided tape to stick down there screens, if you left the screen off for a while then sticky tape will dry up and will not stick down properly, so you have two choices, first you can remove all the old tape and then find a good double sided tape to stick it back down or you can buy a new screen, the screens are not expensive so don't worry, if you would like i can send you a link for a new screen, just let me know,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • wow, you make this look easy :S do you know if you can get them done professionally? because i will probably break mine ?

  • @horses2202

Hi, i will send you a personal message to your youtube channel,

  • My mum just bought me this phone for my birthday , she saved up for 2 years and i got it today and i broke it open with the screw on the back and the screen cracked and i wont open up what should i do

  • @RealistKilla16

Hi, that's not the best thing to do, i bet your mum is angry hehehe, anyway its not the end of the world, your screen is only plastic and costs very little, now I will send you a personal message to your youtube account with the help you need,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • i change my housing to orange, everything is fine except screen- when i pulled the black one off, there was sticky stuff under it, can i still put my new screen over it, or do i remove the sticky stuff?

  • @megaolives

Hi, yes just stick you new screen down, the other glue on you phone will help your new screen stick better,

    i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • i can see only 1 screw is the other one covered with this blue thing because i can see silver were i ripped it

  • @Romy4908

Hi, thats just a warranty stick, it lets Blackberry know that someone has opened your phone other than them, if you ever have to take it to a Blackberry repair centre, so don't worry to much and just take it off and then dismantle your phone, if you want to replace your housing, i hope this helps, and if you need anything else just ask,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • Do you put the screws back in at the end? And the blue tool you used to remove the pieces, can anything else be used instead?

  • @gallaoah

Hi, yes please put your screws back in, that was just a demo video, if you would like a full tutorial then let me know and i will send it to you, also a blunt knife can work but be gentle, and take you time, i hope this helps, and if you need anything else just ask,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • If you take out the black housing and then decide to put it back is it possible?

  • @susanna1012

Hi, yes that is fine, if you want a better tutorial then just let me no and i will send you it, i made a step by step guide to help everyone, so just let me no,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • er, you know the buttons to turn the vol up and down, well mine have ripped, so it is hard to turn it up and down, anywhere i get a new bit if you know what i mean..

  • @Faabray

Hi, we do sell the new buttons, but i think you mean the rubber covers but we don't sell replacements for them, go to sw-box.com and find Blackberry box at the top, then go to replacement parts, and find 8520, we sell most spares so just have a look, i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • can i ask you 1 question please u know the screw what is it called pleaseeee help me and i really need to get that answer

  • @habbohackers171

Hi, sorry i have been on holiday for a week, now the screw driver u need is a torx size is T5 and T6,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • Do I put the screws back in ? i bought the housing kit yesterday

  • @NanaBOSSINx

Hi, yes please put all the screws back in, i have a better tutorial if you need it, just ask,

    i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • what did the screws do?

and at which point do you screw them back in? i am thinking of getting housing, and i would like to know

  • @oxoxjodieoxox

Hi, i will send you a personal message with a better tutorial, this one is just a demo,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • Hi, just wondered if you had to glue the new screen back on or if there was enough glue there already to just stick it straight back on. also the screen is two layers of plastic do you have to remove both of them before putting the new screen back on??

    Cheers, nice video!!

  • @kevine1995

Hi yes there should be enough glue to just stick it back down, now you must not separate the two layers, keep them in one piece, i will send you a personal message with a better video,

    i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • how do you close the top of the blackberry !?!

  • @1995jhonjhon

Hi, when you begin you must start at the top, pull it down, then clip the rest of the housing into place,

    i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • i got it thanks! my phone looks great !

  • @janndick12

Hi, cool really glad you got it done and your happy with it, good for you,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • do you not have to put the back screws back in after you put the new housing on?

  • @jessicaward1515

Hi, yes you do need to refit all of the screws in your personal hand set, now we did not do this as it is only a demo video, and because we gave the phone to our QC department to test new products, i hope this helps, and thanks for your comments,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • well trying to get them out im completely stripped the screws now they wont come out at alll! what do i do i tried everything!

  • @janndick12

Hi, if only Blackberry used Philips screws that would be much easier, ok there's not many options left, 1 is to take it to a professional store or 2 you could ask someone you no is very good at engineering or just highly skilled with his hands to gently drill the heads off the screws, then when the housing is off use pliers to unscrew the remaining parts of the screws, unfortunately with the screw heads stripped there's not many options left,

    i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • i can not get the screews out !

  • @janndick12

Hi, in most cases its very hard to take them out the first time, try a T6 not a T5 screw driver as the heads get worn out very easily, also try to apply more downward force on the screw driver as some time the screw driver does not engage the head of the screw very well, push harder into the head as you unscrew it, if this does not work please come back to me and i will give you more suggestions,

    i hope this helps,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • WTF Is Up With This Music?? :S

  • @19SDO97

    Hi, thanks for your comments,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • @19SDO97

    Hi, thanks for your comments,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • is this hard to do? i dont want to buy one incase i break to phone:/?

  • @beckyboo2978

Hi, actually its really easy, i would say you could do it in under 30mins, why not try to take it apart first, see how easy it is, then decide if you want to make the change, i hope this helps,

    Kind regards,

    Neill.

  • how come you put the battery in before you attached everything else?

  • @MCWavey49

Hi, because the phone takes a long time to boot up, thats the only reason, hehehe,

i hope this helps, and thanks for your comments,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • so help ful! thanks so much!

  • @BlushingBeautyxxo

Hi, thanks for your comments, and really glad it helped you, if you need anything else just ask,

    kind regards,

    Neill.

  • my right screw has a blue stciker on it is it a screw im not even sure :/

  • @JackSwaggerUniverse

Hi, yes there is a screw under that blue sticker, the sticker is a warrantee, when you remove it, its gone, then if ever you take the phone to a BB shop they will no you opened it, that's all,

    anyway i hope this helps,

    Kind regards,

    Neill.

  • I am very disappointed with the product you sent me, light bleeds through the faceplate everywhere, the CALL/BB/RETURN/END CALL buttons look like utter shit when light goes through, the housing and the faceplate don't match in size and the housing doesn't hit the keys properly.

I could buy the same thing in Chinatown for 5 bucks, except I paid you guys 25.

    Just disappointed.

  • @Sejox13 and trust me I installed it over and over and over again to make sure I didn't make a mistake. I expected better quality for something that was "OEM"

Oh and the trackpad is almost hidden by the lens screen, very uncomfortable.

  • @Sejox13

Hi, really sorry to here that, if you can give me your email address and order number then i can pass it on to customer services, i have already spoke to them, they will contact you via email, so please send it to me,

we would like to solve this problem straight away, and again really sorry for your Inconvenience,

Hi, sorry for the late reply, you need to change the button thats all, the buttons are push into the middle frame, just pull it out using your fingers, i will send you a personal message to your channel with the link for the replacement buttons, and a video on how to do it,

    i hope this helps,

  • i did this to my phone about 2 weeks ago and put both screws back in my phone now my signal is not working because the left hand side screw has been stripped and can not remove it what do i do ?? plz help

  • @dudge1111

Hi ok sounds like a sim card problem, and yes put the screws in, its what hold the phone together,

now as for signal, thry your sim card in another phone and make sure it works, at least you will know if the sim is a problem or your phone is a problem, if that dont work come back to me, hehehe,

    kind regards,

    Neill.
