It amazes me how such a scathing glimpse into the current events is usually written off as an outdated TV movie. We should constantly ask ourselves how the writers could've seen so far ahead and why we didn't heed their warnings.

Well, to be honestly, the Internet doesn't help gluttony very much, at least not directly.
And it's kind of weak on pride, although everyone having their own blog helps.
But wrath.... yup. Flame wars.
Envy... yup. Celebrity gossip.
Avarice... yup. Day trading, online catalogs for luxury goods, etc.
Sloth? Hell yeah. Never before could you get so much for so little effort.
