The editing was great, the scenes were nicely chosen - and even though I actually liked John's first girlfriend very much (I thought she was actually pretty badass), there's no denying John and Sherlock were pretty much just joined at the hip :D

Yes, I've heard the same regarding the Conan-Doyle estate nixing any Sherlock/Watson relationship. It's ashame the family will not change their mind, even with all the fans of the pairing. I've heard the estate almost revoked the rights to Guy Ritchie movie after RDJ said the the sequel would be more "gay". I guess we have to be happy with what has slipped though. Here's hoping the family will have a change of heart someday.

They need each other, and regardless of what they say, they do indeed like and love each other. Especially in this incarnation of them. Their relationship is solid and exclusive, whether they know it or not. So I guess it's more of an "unlove" story. But it is still so very important, in my opinion.

Oh, I wish you were mistaken! ;-) Unfortunately, yes, the implied scene at the end is a combination of "Queer As Folk" and "The Last Enemy" which did star Benedict Cumberbatch, mixed in with a little "Sherlock" @NEWSdoitsuGALS. Everything else leading up to that scene and the very end are from "Sherlock"

Then, Sherlock realise its John, who shot the cab driver, he can't help fall even harder in love with him, not only Sherlock loves John not only as a man, but now also as a hero, too. And he realise also the unfairness of it all, that John will never feel the same way about him. That's where he feels the shame, at the same time, as well.
Even though Sherlock getting high, there still a tint of sadness, knowing even though he have a rest bite from the heartache of not having John has his lover, the lows are going kill him, more than ever, when he reach rock-bottom. and that's a hell, he can't live with.
That is a really beautiful, if not tragic, analogy of this video @rubyslipperz1974. Thank you for sharing your insight, it means a lot to me to have people think beyond the video itself.

I think that this was extremely well done, especially Sherlock's contemplation of suicide and John's reactions. The music was perfect too. All in all a lovely video that I will be favorite.

Speaks of a person who would do anything make someone they love, happy, and safe. And the reality check he has after his arugement with Sherlock, it dawns on him that feels the same way too. Sherlock is good for John and the same can said for Sherlock. They good together not apart.
I have to agree with you on all counts @rubyslipperz1974! One could argue that John would do the same for a close friend, but when two of the most observant men on Earth, Sherlock and Mycroft, suspect that you are gay, I'd say you probably are. ;-)

The scene you are referring to actually came from the original unaired pilot for "Sherlock." The producers were unhappy with the pilot, so they filmed a new one which was the first episode the general public saw. The unaired pilot was included in the Series 1 box set for "Sherlock" released last year.
I really have to say, the editing is fantastic. It's so rare to find a music video of any show that actually tells a narrative rather than just displaying a sequence of shots from the show. The story comes across wonderfully clearly. Well done! :)

Sorry, misunderstood @AngelsHandPrint. I do not know of any other TV/movies with Benedict Cumberbatch doing the deed, unfortunately. I used clips from QaF, etc., I tried to use shots of people with similar body types and did not show faces, then I mixed in shots of Benedict C. or Martin F.
There are a few shots of Benedict Cumberbatch in "To the End of the Earth" naked, but his hair is lighter and many times he's in 1800 type clothes. Sorry I'm not more help.

On this video I used Premiere Pro CS3 @TheLittlePartDane, but most people use Sony Vegas 8 or 9. I've since upgraded to CS5, but for most people Sony Vegas is much easier to use for beginners.

You really do have this unfathomable knack for working with some really limited footage. Ive seen probably hundreds of Sherlock videos recycle the same scenes over and over again but not you, you seem to seek out the less used stuff and breathe a whole new life into it. I also like that you managed to make a subtle homage to the original film this song was written for whether that was intentional or not. I seriously felt my heart strings pulled while watching this. No, there were only 3 aired episodes @beegirlmia, but there was an unaired pilot that can be found on the DVD boxset. The ending was a compilation of a movie Benedict Cumberbatch was in, an episode of Queer as Folk, and a devious slash mind. There will be 3 new episodes of "Sherlock" this Fall.

Sherlock would never loose John's friendship. They mean so much each other. Sherlock brings out the best out John, and Sherlock is at ease with John, when John at his side. Just because they become lovers, they wouldn't stop being friends.
I agree @rubyslipperz1974. John already made it clear in the first episode that it didn't matter who Sherlock was involved with. I think it's always frightening to take a chance to step beyond friendship into an actual romantic relationship, especially if the other person may only feel friendship love. If things do not work out you may risk losing everything that you had before because the relationship becomes awkward or painful.
i had to pause the video to tell you that i love you...this video is amazing!!! especially the part where john looks up then runs when sherlock is about to jump. i read the description and wondered how you were going to put this together but i never exected it to be this great! The scene you are referring to actually came from the original unaired pilot for "Sherlock." The producers were unhappy with the pilot, so they filmed a new one which was the first episode the general public saw. The unaired pilot was included in the Series 1 box set for "Sherlock" released last year.

I really have to say, the editing is fantastic. It's so rare to find a music video of any show that actually tells a narrative rather than just displaying a sequence of shots from the show. The story comes across wonderfully clearly. Well done! :)

The scenes at the end with Benedict Cumberbatch in bed is from a movie he was in called "Last Enemy" @birchdryadgirl. I also edited in a couple clips from a TV show "Queer as Folk" as well. Everything else is from "Sherlock".

OMFG. You're my god. When I saw the title of the video AND the thumbnail with Sherlock there, I just couldn't resist it and when I read the story and then had to wait for the video to load, I was practically thrumming with anticipation. This is just perfect.
I LOVE it when the lyrics went "I just want you to know who I am" with Sherlock's face.

Pretty much all the other sex scenes come from Queer as Folk, US version, between Justin and Brian. Just check YT for QaF, Brian & Justin sex and take your pick! Most people write the season & episodes. Let me know when you finish your video, I'd love to see it!

Sorry, misunderstood @AngelsHandPrint. I do not know of any other TV/movies with Benedict Cumberbatch doing the deed, unfortunately. I used clips from QaF, etc., I tried to use shots of people with similar body types and did not show faces, then I mixed in shots of Benedict C. or Martin F.
There are a few shots of Benedict Cumberbatch in "To the End of the Earth" naked, but his hair is lighter and many times he's in 1800 type clothes. Sorry I'm not more help.

I loved this vid; it gave Sherlock some humanity (and a nice big helping of possible heartbreak) and... well, alright so I put it on my playlist cause it shows me Sherlock and John getting it on, but I swear that´s not the only reason. :P ...We need more SH-&-JW-get horisontal-vids.

On this video I used Premiere Pro CS3 @TheLittlePartDane, but most people use Sony Vegas 8 or 9. I've since upgraded to CS5, but for most people Sony Vegas is much easier to use for beginners.

You really do have this unfathomable knack for working with some really limited footage. Ive seen probably hundreds of Sherlock videos recycle the same scenes over and over again but not you, you seem to seek out the less used stuff and breathe a whole new life into it. I also like that you managed to make a subtle homage to the original film this song was written for whether that was intentional or not. I seriously felt my heart strings pulled while watching this. It was beautiful.

Since I'm still learning the program, I've been working on a few easier videos under a different YT account, 51KMG. No, there were only 3 aired episodes @beegirlmia, but there was an unaired pilot that can be found on the DVD boxset. The ending was a compilation of a movie Benedict Cumberbatch was in, an episode of Queer as Folk, and a devious slash mind. There will be 3 new episodes of "Sherlock" this Fall.

And yes, that is John Simm. Good eye! Although, I shamefully I admit that John Simm has a sexier body than Martin Freeman, they are both adorable in their own ways. I agree, at times they do resemble each other, even in certain facial expression.

Sherlock would never loose John's friendship. They mean so much each other. Sherlock brings out the best out John, and Sherlock is at ease with John, when John at his side. Just because they become lovers, they wouldn't stop being friends.

I agree @rubyslipperz1974. John already made it clear in the first episode that it didn't matter who Sherlock was involved with. I think it's always frightening to take a chance to step beyond friendship into an actual romantic relationship, especially if the other person may only feel friendship love. If things do not work out you may risk losing everything that you had before because the relationship becomes awkward or painful.

I love this - the story is brilliant and the whole thing is so well put together - 0:48 really seems to imply Sherlock's jealousy at Sarah being with John, Sherlock taking drugs and considering suicide is really well done, and also of course so is the last scene :) Really beautiful (Sherlock and John are so cute!) - thank you so much!

@GallifreyanLovers It was positive. If you want honest criticism, though, while you did it quite well, it could have been better. You could have made better choices of scenes, cuts, organization, and also technical skill. But hey, that's what improvement's for! Still, this is a solid piece and I like it a lot!
