This song should become his signature piece and recorded on his first album ~ the song that his fans will beg him to sing in concert. It is not often that we get to witness moments like these and I doubt anyone will ever forget that audition!

Whilst staying true to the original, he brought in a little of the Joe Cocker version, seasoned the mix with his own interpretation, gave it the full-on Blues/Gospel/Soul treatment & TOOK THE SONG TO A NEW PLACE. Try to avoid this programme and it's staged cheesiness...but was forced to watch this by pals who said i'd i'd be blown away...was reticent and ready to mock, then i heard his voice, saw hs performance and was BLOWN AWAY!!!! so proud an English chap (with such a seemingly decent disposition) could be up there with some of the greats...cos he will be...u won't be needing the X Factor to make ur fortune in the music business...I'm sure that every label will be interested after tonights performance
