  • freaks and geeks brought me here <3, greatest show ever

  • great song and a message that more people should heed if he does not want you--don't let him use you for sex and throw you to the curb only to do it to the next gal!!!

  • Mac Davis was one sexy hunk. I always used to get hooked on the wrong guy. No more -- found my Mr. Right and been married to him for 18 years.

  • i love the old sh*t

  • Muppets season 5 episode 14 mac devis AWESOME:)

  • The line about "I'll just use you and set you free.." ACK. That should be a warning to the gal to get the heck out of there!

  • @choosing2lookeast or just shut up bitch and do what i tell u to do

  • Cant believe this is the same guy who played the tough QB in the classic movie North Dallas Forty.

  • @billsgwn Why not?

  • This mega hit by Mac Davis put him into superstardom!

  • Early to mid-70's (just up the road in Idaho Falls, shanynay123), the ultimate bad-boy seduction song. It worked! :-)

  • love the video

  • This song brings back memories of growing up in the 70s in Blackfoot Idaho. I am still hooked on the 70s.

  • @nasyril89 I say l'chaim to that geeky bastard

  • he sounds just like him

  • Playa..

  • Classic Mac...

  • Matt Davis must have been on incredibly good terms with himself, this and 'It's hard to be humble', egotist much?

  • @hirdy6 a bit of a comedian.

  • @hirdy6 Matt davis might have been I wouldn't know but Mac Davis is only singing a song.

  • @ac45green I noticed I'd made that typo after I'd posted it, but it didn't seem that important, these things matter to you do they? How sad. My point, which obviously went screaming over your head due to your incredible, side splitting, comedic efforts, was that he actually wrote both songs and that there were similarities in the style of them. So you see? He wasn't 'only singing', obviously way too cerebral for a flog like you.

  • Man, I heard this song for the first time while working at KMart in 96, no lie. LMAO!

  • yep I hear ya on falling for the wrong one....

  • Why can i picture Cleveland from FG singing this

  • This is one of those songs that takes me back to my childhood (of the 70's), listening from the next room as my older sisters played their lps..

  • EVERYBODY AND THERE BROTHER CAN INTERUPT LYRICS AND LISTEN TO THE QUOTE/UNQUOTE STORY BEHIND WHY THE SONG WAS WRITTEN. I FEEL I HAVE AN EASIER PHILOSPHY IF YOU FEEL SOMETHING WHEN YOU LISTEN TO THE SONG (GOOD OR BAD) THEN PUT IT IN YOUR HEART AND APPRECIATE WHAT IT TOOK TO GET IT FROM AN IDEA TO YOUR EAR. OR I JUST MAY BE SOME BITCH THAT UNDERSTANDS DREAMS AND WORK ETHICS YOU BE THE JUDGE.

  • I like your thinking roseanne :)

  • I like your thinking roseanne :)

  • One of the most offensive songs of the 1970s, promoting the Playboy philosophy of promiscuous men and abandoned women. Ptui!

Good voice, good tune, ghastly idea. I read that Mac Davis wrote this when his record company demanded a song with a "hook" in it. Hah!

Nice video, ANippyGirl, thanks, even if the lyrics give me hives. :)

  • oh yeah the days when a tranny was something you held to your ear LOL

  • Girl, you're a hot blooded woman child, and it's warm where you're touching me. . . That's one line that I'll never forget and it's probably the poignant line Mac Davis ever wrote. This is one hell of a song!

  • roseanne: use me ill set you on fire ya bastard

  • His only good song. And it is absolutely fantastic.

  • @jerseystitch

INT HE GHETTO ...hE WROTE MANY BLOCKBUSTER HITS.

  • I sang this song to my 1st wife and she never took any notice of the words. Sadly we parted 3 kids and 12 years later. We're still friends though.

  • Wow this brings back memories...of 45s and youth! LOL

  • I listen to this song and it gets me thinking of this guy Bob that I wanted to spend time with, but he went elsewhere...but it still kinda makes me smile with sadness though when I hear this song.

  • i love this song it brings out the true heart in people today.

  • I was born in 71 & I can remember my mother playing this song ova & ova on her little 45lp record & I swore 2 myself that I would never ever listen 2 it again....but now I love it because it reminds me so much of her..MY MUM....

  • Brilliant song and tune. Got to say Mac was a hell of a singer and songwriter. Hell, he had "In The Ghetto" and Elvis had a massive hit with that. Anyone who can let the King sing his song has to be a great guy. Of course "In The Ghetto" was a superb song and Elvis chose it in 1969. One of the best records Elvis recorded. Elvis 'got' what the song was about and conveyed it in his amazing style.

  • @normalnorman1 Damn! You said beyond a true mouthful there. Yes , "In The Ghetto" was/is a superb song and I agree with you about it being one of Elvis's greatest records.

  • TYZWAIN that's soo funny!!! LMAO! LOVE THAT SHOW!

  • This song fits my friend and I so well...

  • I've made love to many lucky women while listening to this song. And I never caught the clap or gono.

  • @Kelspeed1972 you probably never caught anything because you're lying...lucky women my foot...you should check out mac's song "Oh Lord it's hard to be humble"

  • @greenpilgrim50 what the lucky women having a sexual session with me has to do with your foot is anyone's guess. i could probably so you a thing or two in the bedroom as well.

  • i remebered going out with this girl alice..back in '72 and i kept telling her that i loved her very much...and whenever this song would come on the radio...she would tell me to listen to the words to this song back then i didn't listen to the words too much i would just enjoy the song when it was on when she finally told me she didn't love me..for once in my life..i should of listen to her when she said...listen to this song perhaps the hurts would not of been as much..when your 24 it hurts..

  • Im 50 single and met a 27 year old girl who digs my fibe, this song and Gary Puckett "Young Girl" keep ringing in my ears, what to do?

Whatever happens, happens, but i won't lie to anyone about anything..............

  • @blackforest270 Please.. Don't Do It ! This will end up making a FOOL out of you Trust me on this one..

  • @blackforest270 Im half your age fucknuts, you cant keep up with pussy that young so go home and jerk off and leave the Clitoral stilizing to me the master of G spots and hairy twats.

  • @blackforest270 Im 50 with a ten inch dick and a twelve inch tougue so send those two slutpuppys over here for some anal and clitoral stimulation.

  • @ShamWasBetter Then you need to have large notes wrapped around your 10 inch dick, and a wad of

    thousands stapled to your tongue.

  • @blackforest270 Dating a lady half your age works for male celebrities, but they usually have plenty of money to compensate for their lack of youth. That does not mean that attractive young ladies with men twice their age are golddiggers, but the young ladies seldom hook up with men who are twice their age and are just getting by financially or have average incomes. I wish you luck but unless you have a lot of money, be prepared for disappointment.

  • Reminds me of the summer of "72" Crusin with my older brother in his Falcon Sprint

  • Classic Mac Davis!

  • Big Bang Theory:

Howard: Turn left on Lake Street and head up to Colorado. I know a wonderful little sushi bar that has karaoke.

    Penny: That sounds like fun.

Howard (sings): Baby, baby don’t get hooked on me. Uh, baby, baby don’t get hooked on me.

  • @tyzwain exactly why I am here ^_^

  • @tyzwain i'm here because i listened Howard sings to Penny

  • Anybody have a video segment from the old Mac Davis show with Raymond Burr and Mac Davis as hobos around a fire with Mac singing "Good friends and fireplaces"? Probably aired in the early 1970's.

  • I always Loved This song for the Music and the Rhythm, .....

but just the opposite on the lyrics. The one true love of My Life,... I wanted so much for Her to get Hooked on Me as I was Hooked on Her for Life, but it never happened. So I'll go to my Grave always Loving her and wondering WHY things turned out the way they did ! ?

  • My dad played a little guitar and loved this song back in the dad. I remember him singing this song to me and my sister with his acoustic guitar. What memories it brings back, especially now that he is gone is gone. Thanks for posting it.

  • We all love this !

    @RuthieAppleby

  • Another lost classic...Number one in Australia, he also wrote 'In The Ghetto' for Elvis which also went number one around the world...i don't think he needs to check his bank balance...

  • If I ever win a Lotto or Sweepstakes I will definitely be donating at least 10% of it to the creators of YOU TUBE, The memories and feelings that these songs provide just simply cannot be paid for.

  • @DrPhilsucksdicks Your sick. You are really one damn sick puppy.

According to Wikipedia Mac Davis is alive and well.
