LCD's have motion blur sometimes and plasma's have the burn in effect some times when playing video games, Depending if you want blur or burn in is up to you, Though I prefer burn in because the newer plasma's have better protection and who leaves there tv on all day anyway?
This is a poor vid that describes the issue but doesn't clearly show it. It is a more extreme than this. Since this video though, there has been a firmware fix released by samsung which sorts this out. Just pop it on a USB stick, and put it into the wiselink slot on the side of the tv.
i am thinking of buying this tv. will the current tvs in shops still need the update or will the update have been done during manufacture of newer tvs? i dont want to be trying to update a tv that has already been updated at the factory. i have been trying to decide between this tv, the sony kdl40v4000 and the panasonic 37lzd85. all three seem to have a major problem when i read reviews of them. they have got to be better than our current lg 32lx2r.
I have the exact same problem - like white waves on lighter areas - rolling down the screen. Though only when watching blu-ray through my PS3. Nothing on the XMB screen or watching HD television.
