He wants some action. One thug was just brushed with the back end of the billard stick yet he fell as if someone clobbered him with a sledge hammer. His character shouldn't be on the police force. He's sadistic. Going around battering people when he has perfectly good caps. avoiding foreign body fluids is the norm, but he like to bath in them. Rather than avoiding encountering blood he plays the STD lotto. Norris is the Legend, because his fake fights appear less fake.

The badge isn't just flare it's a badge of honor, it represents an officer's commitment to peace. You can take the tin badge away but you can't take the spiritual badge. As long as there's honor the badge remains. Many cops simply have the tin badge. Without the creed they're just an imposter, a rogue and a mercenary.
