I've played many visually stunning games in my life, but nothing quite compares to this game right here. Uncharted 2 and 3, Okami, Red Dead Redemption, Just Cause 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Crysis 1 and 2, Skyrim, Heavy Rain, Half-Life 2, Doom 3, Resident Evil 4, Zelda: Wind Waker.. but this game ultimately takes the cake and ends up being above all. Textures, shaders, animation, polygon count, artistic design.. WOW, this game has it all. THE most epic and visually stunning game of all time. Period.

@cadaverr Well I'll have to disagree with you too. Skyrim doesn't perform "acceptably" on the PS3 or 360 for that matter. There are major frame rate issues on PS3 and brutal texture problems on the 360. Skyrim isn't "fully rendered" either, you see pop-ins going on all over the place. People just go nuts over it because all other Elder Scrolls games have had downright awful graphics. This is really the first one to have half decent graphics, but they're not even that good.

@olgil By "fully rendered" I meant to say rendered featuring big draw distances whereas God Of War 3 focuses on what's happening near the screen. There can be a lot going on when it comes to Skyrim's world. I'm constantly pleased by the distant mountains, the combination of colored grass, nice water reflections and those clouded vistas. That's obviously not to say it's without its flaws though (eventual lag on ps3, texture problems, pop ups, etc), but the overall world still impresses me.

@olgil Hmmm, I'll have to disagree on that. How can someone not find Skyrim stunning as it is is beyond me. The way it is able to render huge landscapes and still perform acceptably on ancient hardware (360/ps3) is still quite commendable in my book. Skyrim is indeed a stunning game, just not GOW stunning (which one is anyway?). God Of War is obviously a juggernaut of a game, but most of its graphics are focused on what happens near the screen whereas Skyrim is huge and fully rendered.

God of war 3 feels a little obsolete in terms of gameplay. Graphically I see it as top of the line but after playing 1 and 2 there seems to be little originality in Stig Asmussen's head. I wish David Jaffe had been put on as director.

I totally agree with the score but they review has definitely pointed out the wrong flaw.God of war is all about uneven story and that is what makes it epic and god of war series have always been about unexpected storyline.In the end i would say that it is an excellent game but not perfect.
