  • what does chopin have to do with shanghai...

  • The great thing is that Lang Lang plays as if he were the composer himself. He feels the music. Creativity. Liszt played this way so. A touch of a genius. !

  • Super!

  • I was expecting the usual Lang Lang garbage but I was pleasantly surprised. This is actually very good although a bit rushed/sloppy in the middle section.

  • Lang Lang and the piano are ONE - this is awesome I love his playing; could watch and listen to him for hours

  • **sigh**. I have the same impression as I do with all of this stuff. It's pretty cool, and I hope someone viciously parodies it.

  • i love the part when he opens the piano without stopping the music at the same time

  • Beautiful!

  • i ever play this song, but not as great as him!

  • lol

  • Lang Lang and the piano are One - he is part of it and the piano is part of him

I just love watching him play

  • at 0:08 did some one noticed in down right corner "E FLAT ETUDES" ?!!!! this is E Major

  • @BassicStorm e flat major and e flat are the same thing

    :)

    not trying to be critical

    Merry Christmas

  • @2pacAmazesSuperman -.- yes but this ETUDE is in E Major not E FLAT Major! It's not the same ;), merry christmas

  • so messy =.="

  • @GingiYume Yes, it is. But the name was not given by Chopin himself. The melody in the slow portion is the probably the most well-known. But that's not the entire piece. Chopin wrote a highly contrasting middle section also.

  • THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • That seawater can't be good for those piano strings

  • i dont understand these highly produced piano ''music videos''. i get that theyre trying to make it modern and popular but theres gotta be another way

  • Love that blue screen magic!

  • Lang Lang awesome - this is one of my favourite Etudes but think is played a little too fast for me

  • @bechtiful dude wtf r u talking about

  • Encore!!!

  • maybe he can play piano but he has just one eyebrow!

  • one of the pieces LangLang plays well, ussually far too fast but this is good.

  • so romantic i love chopin...

  • i <3 lang lang, he's gr8. but valentina lisitsa is my favourite pianist :D

  • very wonderfull

  • I used to hate him, and then I realized I was just being on a bandwagon, and now I figured out already that he's really interesting and committed to the music, and worth my admiration. True story.

  • @sshuck cool story bro

  • @kuspadarnalat neat comment bro.

  • Very nice.... I wish I could play well and move my whichever piano I want to play on Where I want to play on it and make a beautiful video. Jealous.

  • damn.. I wanna do that at the beach on the weekends too..

  • why do many people hate on him? The way he plays it amazing!

  • @SOADm8 Perhaps just jealous, cos they haven't got his career?

  • This must be by far the most pathetic version I've ever heard. This grotesque clown is NOT a pianist.

  • Now if he could drink a Dos Equis and play at the same time, then he'd be good!

  • he wont fall into the sea, the sea will fall onto him xD

  • shouldn't the ocean sounds be part of chopin's "ocean" etude?

  • @randomdude1020 Then he should be here in Hawaii. It's difficult to get away from the Ocean.

  • i really begin to like how he plays. srsly. i always hated him because of his overacting and over the top interpretations. he seems to be on the right way now =)

  • I like his house.

  • God get rid of the fucking ocean sounds.

  • Believe it or not, I encountered this wonderful musician for the first time a few minutes ago, and went looking for an example of him playing one of my favourite pieces on YT. The sound quality isn't as good here as the original example I heard - but it'll do!!

    Marvelous stuff!!

  • @Tobytrim no way! Where at?

  • @dmanschaumbizzie It was on one of the arts channels on TV - I'm sorry I can't be any more informative than that.

  • the fact he is an idol for chinese youngsters does bring a lot of them to study the piano. you cannot imagine how many people in china study piano today !!! its a mass effect.... And its good to have a country like this making music and european classical one !!!! this will break communism there.... its a new cultural revolution in a better sense then the one of Mao....

  • Wonderful

  • How beautiful, Chopin was made to be played by Lang Lang.

  • Then he would get wet.

  • looks like the end of the day after tomorrow

  • awesome technique !

  • what if he fall into the sea

  • Comment removed

  • @arlongan He is very close to the water there!

  • @arlongan he is wet ;)

  • @arlongan I wish

  • @arlongan throw in a 3 hour-long aqua lung and a waterproof piano so the whole ocean of fishes and other sealife can share the joy of his play!

  • @arlongan Then it will be the legend of 1900 with lang lang

  • Awesome video, Great piano performance. I really love it,thanks for posted.

  • I am a big fan of lang lang.

  • I wonder why he played the piano at the place like here.....

This reminds me of a Korean Drama...

    Is he a prince....?

Any way, he plays so beautifully. Thank you for up load.

  • man, this does Lang Lang no justice. It's so heavily edited it almost doesn't sound like him playing. Listen to the one he plays at the Berlin Philharmonic, THAT one is absolutely delightful to listen to because it's him pure and simple at a concert hall.

  • Like the video... too bad the maker couldn't distinguish E Major from E Flat...

  • @JC08HP perfect pitch ftw!

  • @voncoolio Nooo lol wish I had one.. It's just falsely translated because sadly, some Chinese don't REALLY know English....

  • @TheSublima

    Marie K

  • Why does it sound like there's a cinderblock sitting on the sustain pedal?

  • Wow - this is really edited.

  • terribile.... stucchevole direi. tutto fumo e niente arrosto.

  • what's name of this song??

  • @grandpiano2007 chanson de l'adieu

  • He definitely botched the middle/climax section!

  • where the hell is he playing!?!?!? O_O

  • @newFranzFerencLiszt

"The Bund in Shanghai" : )

  • @newFranzFerencLiszt

    sea side of Shanghai。

  • I love it how he stars playing with the lid closed and it magicaly opens by it self

  • @Martel211996 Yeah, he totally uses his psychic power at 0:38

  • @Martel211996 It's almost as magical as the morphing piano Argerich played that changed from a Steinway to a Bechstein in different shots. LOL

  • Just like Lang Lang to botch another masterpiece.

  • i am totally blown away with this performance

  • a few little "kitsch", maybe ?

  • Merveilleux, sublime, enchanteur !

  • Very nice! I like it!

    Thank you for sharing!

  • What are you talking about? Lol

  • it must be very dangerous to play inmids of the harbour. and when the breaks of the pianorolls open. what happens?

    did you think about that?

    have you been anxious?

  • What a beautiful video! Thanks for posting!
