  • AHA! But it wasn't called "The Sequel" after all...

  • The sequel....lol

  • so is Augustus a manic pixie dream boy? I approve

  • @besttheeverhappy I was thinking that, too. I approve, too. :) I love Augustus <3

  • First video I've seen with zero dislikes! DFTBA

  • I can relate to john and how he always thinks about death. For me its gotten so bad that I have panic attacks; the way I deal with it: I write.

  • The sequel? OMG is that what ended up turning into TFIOS?

  • @hobbi31t Yes, yes, it is.

  • @dynorawrgirl I think that they were referring to what Stephen King said about Twilight, which was that it was a load of crap.

  • Does anyone know what Stephen King said about Looking for Alaska?

  • It's interesting that John is so against a Looking For Alaska movie here. Didn't he say that the screenplay that was written made him cry?

  • stop worshipping him and go fight for awesome

  • it's not called the sequel ;)

  • "Maybe if you had a child" and then a month and 9 months later he has a child.

  • Zero dislikes.

    Nerdfighter power!

  • <3 to John

  • @vlogbrothers The thing about Paper Towns is that the book takes place almost entirely in Q's head. That the whole point of the book is that Margo, in her presence and in her abscence, changes him from the inside out. It's so hard to portray that in a movie, especially the profundity in which the change is displayed. And whatever happened to 'The Sequel'? That is a very interesting prospect for a book.

  • is 'The Sequel' 'The Fault in Our Stars'? because if not i would like John to make 'The Sequel'

  • @CaitysRAWR No, he changed the tittle because he though it would be too confusing.

  • @CaitysRAWR No it's not a sequel to paper towns

  • @azerskater never thought it was.... :p

  • NERDFIGHTERS FTW

  • French The Llama this is great nerd

  • No dislikes FTW. :)

  • "The Sequel"= THE FAULT IN OUR STARS :)

  • @JackShafferProject Is "The Sequel" really the same story as The Fault in Our Stars????

  • @PadfootLivesFree No, he basically scrapped "The Sequel" and then wrote "The Fault in Our Stars"...or so he has implied throughout the last year or so in his videos.

  • @dirksdame Oh, okay. Thanks!

  • Looking for Alaska (10/10) was emotionally a serious book with life is funny snipets thrown into it.

An Abundance of Katherines (8/10) was a funny book with life is serious snipets thrown into it.

Paper Towns (2,000,000/10) was hilarious and serious with snipets of life is both serious and hilarious thrown into it.

Will Grayson, Will Grayson (9/10) was a funny book with boldness and seriousness in the back ground.

  • edward is a mpd guy.

  • John deserves to be more famous than Stephanie Meyer simply because he actually writes very well on serious topics, and things that actually happen and he writes about them so gracefully you're changed forever when you finish the book.

Thank you John, on behalf of all nerdfighters everywhere.

  • ok i love Juno and i love that John is continously bringing up Juno!! one of my all time fave movies!!

  • hilariously not confident....LOL

  • I'm really torn by the fact that John thinks movies should be drastically different than the books on which they're based. I love all of his books, so I would hate to see a movie of the same title with a different plot. However, it also means a new John Green story.

  • haha i love when people mention abour him being a dad before Henry is born.. it always makes me realize how the enternet has allowed us to alter some of your time percepetion.

  • God. I've BEEN the manic pixie dream girl, like, eight times. Unintentionally. Bleh.

  • :( no, it's not coming out in 2010

  • The interviewer is kind of annoying..he keeps imposing on John's awesomeness..

  • @HeartComedyDoll Totally, he screws up the whole thing for me. Or, at least makes it so much less interesting.

  • Hah it's funny when he mentions the kid thing, cause wasn't his wife pregnant with Henry at this time?

  • @madasrabbits06 No, she wasn't. Henry was born in January of 2010. Unless she was pregnant for 11 months, it wasn't until later.

  • @untitledmusicproject ahhh my fault for not actually counting the months... i just kinda guestimated it. haha :P

  • I love John Green the vlogger, but it's really refreshing to see him as John Green the writer and as simply John Green the guy. He ties for my favorite author :)

  • Sometimes it is really nice to see John Green when he isn't so well edited. He has a great personality that doesn't need to be edited and its nice to notice how he can stutter and say stumble over his words sometimes, like an everyday person, and yet still be able to get his ideas across

  • Wowowowowowowowowowowow, The Seeeequeeel? I hadn't heard about this. I am excited. Is this real life? =]

  • OMG NEW BOOK HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS?????

  • @MercuryIcePrincess This was a year ago lol

  • John Green is amazing. :D

  • what happened to the sound 2/3 through?

  • Oh my God. This is adorable.

  • Why does John cross himself while talking about the movie?

  • OMG, new books!! THE SEQUEL!, can't wait!

  • I dont really think they should make a movie....

  • John Green could you be any more awesome?

  • He could have wings or something, i guess. but other than that......

  • @loto159 No.

  • @loto159 you reminded me of chandler of friends.

  • This dude is so refreshing. It's hard to find a YA book nowadays that isn't completely recycled, cliched, The CW/WB crap *cough*StephanieMeyer*cough*. He should really be bigger than he actually is as far as fame goes. But I guess if your character isn't an abusive glittering pedo or a hair psuedo Native American pedo or the very definition of Mary Sue in it's truest form, you don't matter today.

  • Damn....there's no greater truth about fame nowadays.

And I laughed for like 20 minutes after I read your comment.

  • same here! i'm reading the book and its amazing

  • I love when he talks about Stephenie Meyer! He's so right!

  • Wow, I'm glad I found this :)

    (From his wikipedia page)

    Good stuff, very funny.

I'm seeing him in 10 days!

  • wh00t! John Green is the best. And I never get sick of listening to his brilliant insights.

  • lols he i love him

  • haha "The Sequel", that sounds so cool!!!

  • Really good interview, can't wait for this book next year.

  • Great interview. =)

  • Ahaha dang, I was very excited to see where the death thing was going.

"I...don't think it's a disaster if they don't make that movie..." "...why?" HAH!

  • and thank you so so much for posting this one as well.
