*Eight* Greyhounds? *Four* Stuarts? Plus more motorcycles, jeeps, and halftracks than you can shake a stick at? And all apparently in pristine condition.
that's a pretty good point actually about the panels, we came off the bluffs where we had stayed the night before, drove down to omaha and then went 35 miles inland into the bocage from the beach, they'd have been on inland, but probably not coming off an LST so I tend to agree on that one Jon
It was not uncommon for the Germans to string painowire across roads at head/neck height as a sort of boobytrap. Allied soldiers passing in open-top jeeps, motorcyclists, e.a could get seriously wounded or even decapitated. So to prevent this from happening they installed wirecutters on their Jeeps: a vertical bar with a sharp frontal edge, that cuts the wire when driving through it.
Yes, but it is the 88mm PAK43 anti-tank version: the cannon is mounted on a two-wheel split-trail carriage from a conventional howitzer. So not the more well-known cruciform mount, which offered a full 360 degree traverse and a much lower profile than the anti-aircraft version of the 88 mm. @CoolDog202
air recognition panels, fantasy ?!! I don't think so, every ww2 us vehicle had 2 a red and a yellow one and they were used constantly, check your WW2 photos !!
i know air rec panels were used..but if these vehicles were coming off the beach at that actual spot in the video in 1944,they were not used in that area..hence my "in this case a reenactor fantasy" quote.
aerial recognition ID flag...so the US aircraft moving over the area will not attack friendly troops moving inland....in this case, a re enactors fantasy, not historically accurate.
Dammit fucking lucky bastards :(

Yes. Those vehicles and many more will hit my town. Just as they did 65 years ago. Liberating it, as town with townhall in Holland.
