  • Dammit fucking lucky bastards :(

  • first jeep has polish flag :D

  • if any re-enactors / living historians / military vehicle enthusiasts are interested in another such event, we are planning a 6tha rmored trip to Normany and Brittany in September 2010 email is jonnylozzy@yahoo.co.uk

  • *Eight* Greyhounds? *Four* Stuarts? Plus more motorcycles, jeeps, and halftracks than you can shake a stick at? And all apparently in pristine condition.

I'm about to explode from the awesomeness.

  • you can buy 1 in england for 50 pence with a free cup of coffee

  • man they shrue have alot of those M8 Greyhounds how much you think those are ?

  • where on earth do u buy these things? ahow much?

  • u can buy willies jeeps in crates ready to assemble, but i dunno how much they cost

  • they're called VS-17 Panels

  • And right around the corner were four King tigers...

  • that's a pretty good point actually about the panels, we came off the bluffs where we had stayed the night before, drove down to omaha and then went 35 miles inland into the bocage from the beach, they'd have been on inland, but probably not coming off an LST so I tend to agree on that one Jon

  • What are the crowbar like things on some of the jeeps?

  • It was not uncommon for the Germans to string painowire across roads at head/neck height as a sort of boobytrap. Allied soldiers passing in open-top jeeps, motorcyclists, e.a could get seriously wounded or even decapitated. So to prevent this from happening they installed wirecutters on their Jeeps: a vertical bar with a sharp frontal edge, that cuts the wire when driving through it.

  • thanks

  • Is that an 88 in the background?

  • yeah it is

  • Yes, but it is the 88mm PAK43 anti-tank version: the cannon is mounted on a two-wheel split-trail carriage from a conventional howitzer. So not the more well-known cruciform mount, which offered a full 360 degree traverse and a much lower profile than the anti-aircraft version of the 88 mm. @CoolDog202

  • @Madnessrule24 Chek out the grerman panser tank. it looke cool on the millitary chanl.

  • Great video

  • air recognition panels, fantasy ?!! I don't think so, every ww2 us vehicle had 2 a red and a yellow one and they were used constantly, check your WW2 photos !!

  • i know air rec panels were used..but if these vehicles were coming off the beach at that actual spot in the video in 1944,they were not used in that area..hence my "in this case a reenactor fantasy" quote.

  • What do the pink blankets mean?

  • aerial recognition ID flag...so the US aircraft moving over the area will not attack friendly troops moving inland....in this case, a re enactors fantasy, not historically accurate.

  • they're M5 halftracks, good video

  • God DAMMIT!

That was the most superb convoy of WW2 vehicles I have seen for a long long time.

  • We invaded France...again?

  • so cool, i wish i could see this somewhere

  • You can.. in September we are doing it again in Holland......

  • Yes. Those vehicles and many more will hit my town. Just as they did 65 years ago. Liberating it, as town with townhall in Holland.

  • Great video. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for putting it up!

  • Damn Americans! Always invading somewhere ;-)
