In the latest issue of National Geographic (June 2011) there is an article about child marriage. Stephanie Sinclair did the photographs for the spread as well. The article features a 5 year old girl named Rajani being married to her 10 year old suitor. It's disgusting. Regardless of your beliefs or traditions, how can anyone see any right in this? They are CHILDREN!

Even worse than the legal pedophile marriage of children to older men is that the huge age difference means their husbands die long before they do and they are kicked out of the house as useless. The land is full of begging women without homes or jobs and they just die off on the streets from neglect. How is it possible to consider women lower than farm animals.
