I argee with that. I have a microkorg and the biggest difference between the microkorg and the moog is sound quality. they are both very complicated. synthisis is not an easy thing and i think if someone offered me a moog for a really good price, i wouldn't buy it because i"m not experianced enough. get the microkorg and attain the skills so that when you get a moog, you can use it to it's full potential.
Microkorg. i got mine for 300 used. although its not gonna sound anywhere near as good as a moog. you still have almost all the same features to tweek.
this is not the stage 2. The stage 2 has black paint in the back. Jordan rudess wouldn't have shown the On the Run thing if there was a Arpeggiator built in. The stage 1 does not have a Arpeggiator. Thats why he showed the On the run dark side of the moon thing, cause it is a Stage 1. the 8th video is a preset built in to the Stage 1. It is not a factory preset in the stage 2.
@tlamotte Nope you won't find any piano sounds on any synth. My synth the blofeld does but that is cause it has a sampling facility and the quaility is pretty bad for that. i.e. I wouldn't use it as a piano. Organs are a bit easier to emulate on a synth. To get a good quality of all these sounds you need a rompler like the juno. However that isn't really a synth though it has synth like sounds.
I really want to buy a synthesizer, I know how to play piano enough. I was looking into getting a Micro Korg but I want a synth that has normal sized keys. Do you know of any good synthesiser for around that price that has big enough keys?
You might want to check out the Alesis Micron. It's similar to the MicroKorg but with regular-sized keys for the same price. The vocoder isn't as good, but I believe it has a sequencer.
The MicroKorg and MicroKorg XL are both great synths, especially for the beginner.
Perhaps you could purchase a MicroKorg or MicroKorg XL now, and, if you enjoying playing with synths, in a year sell that synth to contribute towards a Little Phatty?
I agree with gear4music1. I use myself an r3, and i think its a great synth. But the difference between the korg and moog is the korg is digital and moog analog. In my opinion, start with a microkorg or r3, and if u still badly want a moog: U can either sell the old synth OR save a longer while for a moog to make a korg+moog setup.
Beware: You will notice that when u get into synths, one synth is not enough. There is always something that might improve your setup
@MisfioPeton I'd get it even though the Korg Microkorg was my first Synth,I'm like a "self-obsessed Synth Addict" I'm addicted to the noise of a Synthesizer,I dont care if the Moog Little Phatty is a non-Techno Synth but I sure as hell would use it for lead solos along with guitar

i wanna start to play the synthezisers
i have money to buy the korg r3 or the microkorg but i want the little phaty what do u recomend to me?
- buy the microkorg, because a little phaty is not for a beginner.
- buy the korg R3, because is better than the microkorg and the little phaty is not for a beginner.
- save money to buy the little phaty, u wont be regret of this synth.
if a have to save money it take me 1 year to have the cash (to buy the little phatty u know)
