Bless her baby heart. She is missed by people who never even had the pleasure of meeting her. May the Lord allow her to run and dance in the greenest pasture ever known! Res wellt girl, you showed them all and you will be remembered forever.
Rest in peace, my angel :o) I will never forget all the good times with you! All your little quirks and your loving personality... You were truly an amazing horse and will be missed every day!
Matiné was retired due to an injury caused by a fall on the way to the stables at the World Cup in Las Vegas in 2007. After 2 years of fighting to get her back in the ring, they retired her and in january 2010 she broke her leg when turned out in the paddock - just months before she were to be breed.
Blue Hors Matine was retired from competition in 2009 but had not competed since the 2007 World Cup final, where she was injured in a paddock accident before the event.
Her stud said the she had to be put to sleep after breaking her offside foreleg at the knee.
My favorite of all dressage horses and Andreas Helgstrand is my favorite rider I adore him. I was shocked to find out she is gone. So young...my horse died at 32 she would of had all those dancing years ahead of her. Wonderful video I adore this. RIP dancing angel
I must agree... since i live in denmark...she was really amazing, and beautyful, this song and this video, its stunning, i was about to cry. RIP Blue Hors Matine
I thank you for this. I only found out now that she is gone and my heart mourns her as if she was my child..... Go With God our magnificent Blue Hors... there will never be another like you.
This was such a powerful video. Amazing!! You brought tears to my eyes. I will NEVER forget these two. They were the best Dressage pair ever. I personally think they should have won over Anky and Salinero's performance at WEG 2006.
I can't believe she is gone my heart goes out to the family and to Andreas Helgstrand my heart is broken I watched this video over and over I loved her so much. God Bless her :(
I love his horse and the rider is so still on the horse i like better than the women and my hart gos out to the rider a bond that will be in your mind for ever.
It seems the greatest things in life get taken away from us. Although we should be thankful for what Matine gave to us. She and Moorlands Totilas are my most favorite Dressage horses.
amazing true love u can see ...a bond so rare it doesn't happen often and im sure the rider knows what he had and im so sorry for his loss of such an amazing animal...
This is absolutely the most beautiful Memorial Videos i've seen it brought me to tears i just learned of them i saw their competition video than i saw this and i was like NOOOO
it's so sad that she went so soon. i fill like i'v lost one of the most importent things in my life. i want to be in the fei dressage, it's my dreem but i'll nether know whats it's like to have a dressage horse like her and i'll nether be as good as her. i'll miss you matine. i hope you had a good life' and im sorry that you had to go

@94gunsmoke Here's a girl who LOVES what she's doing. But you can tell immediately at the end of her performance that her rider loves her, Blue just totally relaxes, and she can just be a horse! When a horse can do the weird things people ask them to do, and love what they do, and STILL respect their people, that's respect and trust from both sides!!!! It's an earned relationship, and humans should be humbled that a horse can give SO much, and ask so little in return.
@94gunsmoke I don't think she was just pleasing her rider. I can see she was totally enjoying herself, showing off, her energy is totally her own! It must be such a pleasure, such a treat, to ride a horse of this calibre! A horse that can teach you so much more than you ever intended to teach the horse! THAT IS A HUMBLING RELATIONSHIP!!!!! Kudos to horses!!!!
@TheBrendadale You're so right! Matiné wasn't a horse you could force into doing anything! She had her own "opinions" and was both very sensitive and eksplosive... But once you really got to know her, and work WITH her - she'd do anything if you asked nicely. She LOVED working and she LOVED attention! I have no doubt that Matiné was dancing each time she stepped out in front of the audience :o)
@94gunsmoke I just want to add one more thing. Many of the dessage movements are things horses can and do use in their play time as wilder critters. We used to breed quarter horses, but the young'uns were never touched by human hands until they were at least 2 yrs old. The herd, small as it was, was allowed to be wild and interactive. The babes were allowed to be horses, totally themselves. It makes for a much better horse in the long run.
@TheBrendadale What I wanted to say was that horses have all these natural moves, naturally. It takes the trusting bond between horse and rider for the horse to do them, when asked, under saddle! And, yes, some moves are a little unnatural to a horse, but as horse and rider move through the stages, the horse gives more, learns more, trusts more. The rider also gives more, learns more, trusts more. Horse and human, as equals, you can't beat that!
this horse is the most correct passionate dancer i have ever seen can't wait to meet you in heaven rip sweet girl you danced your heart out
