this song is beautiful, but in order for it to sound good, it must be sung with emotion, that how janis did it, janis tapped into this emotion when she sang, because she was in pain, she wanted love.emotional singing is what makes it real. annabanana1914, you are the best iv'e heard so far, keep it up!

Fred Foster asked Kris Kristofferson to write a song about a fictional character called Bobbi McKee, and in his original song Kristofferson sings about Bobbi McGee, a girl. Janis Joplin not only turned the character into a man, but put some life and soul into the person... and the words... and the music!!
