  • i would love to see a video from a camera mounted on one to see there hunting habits

  • Wheres your harpoon gun at silly

  • LOL grab it!!

  • It looked like you was the Menacing ones lol but cool vid.

  • heyyy....fellow WNYers....nice vid

  • thanks for the tip i ll let u know how i do and ill make sure your not down there when i start throwing those big musky baits around

  • what part of the river are you on niagara right im familiar from black creek up to about central ave only get to fish the muskiies once in a while thier what time of year thanks for the tip if you can

  • We usually hit the water off Harry's Harbor place, and drift down a mile or so from there. I think we filmed this in June or July. It's been a couple years, and a lot of dives since. Good luck out there!

  • wtf this guy is talking about. YES a rock can cut a 24lb test line and there is no doubt that the teeth of a musky or even a pike can cut a 24lb test line, When fishing musly you need a 100lb fluocarbone leader, Musky innovation got some good one.

  • 100 lb wtf? I find 30 good enough on most lakes. dont you know how to play a fish in?

  • @andrewh4 i use 12 haah

  • first i was talking about the 100 lb leader flurocarbone and when fising musky you have to release really fast.

I do know a to fish buddy! i'm no sayong that you cant catch a musky on 30 pound line, but the best is to real the fish on with big line

  • Woo! fish rock n roll. The best part is when the song slows with the fish swimming during the base & drums... OOOh I wanna squeeze that fukn. fish!!!

  • musky r some crazy ass fish

  • i hooked on to a musky a little bigger than that and it broke my 24 lb test line

  • your line probably got cut from it's sharp gill plate during the fight

  • well when it started to jump it swam under a rock and i think it might of cut on the rock or something

  • Rocks just don't "cut" 24lb test line. Were you using a leader? well even then teeth really wouldn't cut that strong of line.

  • when the muskie swam under the rock it also swam out the other side and the edge of the rocks around that one were cutting little slices in the bottom of my shoe so im guessing that rock was just as sharp

  • work the drag buddy

  • i was disappointed it got away but just like 2 days ago a hooked a northern about the size of the musky in the video

  • I will remember this next time i fight a big fish. The musky was the hardest fight i ever had. The second was a seven pound catfish.

  • Lol i guess everybody has a musky story.I fought that damn fish the best i could. He jumped out the water to show me how beutiful of a fish I was going to let get away then broke the line.

  • I had one on that bit through a steel leader!

  • OMG nice vid where was this i want to go fishing there!!

  • Oh my gosh that was awsome

  • Sabbath's "Zero the Hero" has been replaced via audio swap by "110 years" done fittingly enough, by "Underbiz"

  • I got scared watching this video, lol!

  • Your videos are awsome. Can you take me fishing someday?

  • Not really, some are agressive, some scoot, some are curious, and others indifferent. You learn to read their body language, like you would a dog or cat.

  • are they attracted to your lens?

  • Zero The Hero. I don't think Black Sabbath ever thought their material would be used in a muskie video. Great stuff!

  • u guys are so lucky i wish i was u man

  • Great footage!

    LOL@Zerothehero!!!

  • Thanks guys- This was filmed in the Niagara prior to The system being hit by the VHS virus. A pack of muskies, like the one shown, is a rare treat to stumble on. Pairs are fairly common.

Aggressive, or defensive fish will arch their back, and the peck and anal fins will be turned at a 45 deg. angle. Some were at ease with us, and some were uncomfortable.

Approaching Walleye and musky is a learning game.

  • Amazing video. I'm surprised that the diver could get so close. I have seen muskie and pike spook pretty easily from baits thrown too close to them and shadows from birds. Nicely done and good music for a muskie at the end.

  • Probably has to do with the depth they're at. At shallow depths fish become nervous because of predators outside the water. At deep depths they know they don't have to be afraid.

  • good job, great fishing spot huh?

  • nice vid

  • they didnt look very aggressive to me. Just curious more than anything. Gotta remember that theyre the alpha predator so they really arent scared of anything. Pretty cool vid.

  • what lake was that where there are musky after musky!

  • very nice film, a muskies predator nature makes them brave against just about anything

  • Stick out your hand, see what happens?

  • Love the Black Sabbath song....From the CD Born Again!!!

  • I expected them to attack. Now that would have been craxyy

  • Someone need to get a animal face-off between a baracuda and a musky!

  • baracuda handsdown

  • those muskies were so menacing

  • Great video quality compared to the Aqua-Vu I'm using. What kind of camera did you use?

  • It's a sony digital handicam in an Ikelite housing.

  • This is probably one of the coolest underwater vids I've ever seen.

  • Sweet Black Sabbath born again

  • Thanks MM- The pack fish are 30-36. The fish that comes into the camera too. The Reef fish is probably mid 40's.

The fish that gets in my friends face is a nice clean four footer. Good luck this season

  • small muskies. but awesome video

  • That last one wasn't so small. Bet they look a lot bigger when they're staring at you 3 feet away from your mask too lol.

  • Small muskies lol you need better Glasses...they weren't records but they def weren't "small"...the one at the end is 2 /3 of a humans length which is a better than 40 in which is a nice muskie.

  • thanks

  • that video is awesome!

  • It's the Niagara Triangle. I was channel surfing one day when I came across a fishing show. I said to the wife "I think they are on lake Erie, it looks like lake Erie chop" They were, she just looked at me and shook her head. Thanks Mike.

  • Hey, that's the Triangle! I recognize those rocks! Nice Niagara musky video, thanks.

  • Cool video Jim!
