We really have different views about Benefit. I love that brand and I don't find it gimmicky at all.
Yes, it is overprices, I agree, but they often have sales on their website (Like today I checked it and they have their lip pencils on sale for 9.99$).
I own quit a few of their product and I enjoy them a lot.
I respect your opinion tho, not everything that works for one person would work for another.
I agree 100%, finally found someone who thinks the same. Benefit are defiantly hit or miss. They don't have a big enough range of colours at times and SOME of there claims are ridiculous. They rely on the funky packaging and expensive price tags! xx
The product is the biggest joke, and the biggest rip off ever. It doesn't even work as a setting powder. It literrally does NOTHING. I was so irritated by it, but unfortanuately did not save my receipt to return it. I bought it because Make up by Tiffany D raved about it all the time. I should have known better because she also raved about FY...EYE which was another worthless product from Benefit. I like some Benefit stuff but they release some real clunkers.
I totally agree, Benefit is a hit and miss for me too! Brush for this product was awful and scratchy, powder didn't do much for me either lol, thanks for the review :)
Thanks for the review, I've been considering this since it gets so many raves but I was worried it would turn out exactly the way your review says. Right now I've been using an off-white ELF eyeshadow with a very slight shimmer. I think that and a small fluffy brush helps brighten without the ridiculous pricetag.
Omygosh I so regret buying this product!!!! I don't use it much...and when I do sometimes it works and sometimes it just enhances my dry patches under my eyes!!! And without the concealer I tried it...not only it didnt do anything but I felt that it made my dark circles even worst! They looked even more gray...anywaaaayyyssss.
Omg I don't know if mine came with the pitiful brush cuz I never saw it! But yeah, it doesn't appear 2 b very usable. Little brushes r just annoying 2 me. : )
You know I noticed that same thing about the brush that came with Hula. It was rough and straw-like and I felt picked up WAY too much product and kind of dug up too much too. Not that I tend to use the brushes that come with products, but when I first bought it I wanted (of course!!) to swatch some on my hand. Then I junked the brush. ;-D
i bought this and was going to return it, but could never find the receipt. I don't what it's supposed to do, because it doesn't do anything. I bought because Make Up by Tiffany D is always raving about it and I have had good luck with her recommendations. But I don't like it at all.
I love, love love this product ,you are correct it does not conceal but as a brightener it is awesome I am darker then you so maybe that's why it works great as a brightener for my skin color i love it and as for application i use my own fan brush that small one was crappy
If i may make a great suggestion... as i watched your video the only complant u had was that it didnt "conceal" your undereyes... and i DO see your point... benefit DID claim it to work as a concealer, but honestly it is a setting powder for your concealer to brighten up the dark shadows.. not conceal them. so if you see it THAT way.. (And i DO because EVERY SINGLE VIDEO using the powderflage IS for setting concealer while brightening the undereye area) than you will find this product useful :)
@lesliebaybehh That wasn't my only complaint. Yes, I dislike this because it doesn't do what Benefit claims to do which is to conceal and brighten effectively, which should be enough of a reason to justify why I dislike it. *lol* Sure, it adds a slight brightness beneath my eyes but so would any lightly shimmery powder. However, that on top of the exaggerated price is also why I dislike it.
that is the most tiny brush ive seen O_O I WANT IT! i collect mini stuffs i have from nail polish 2cm and lipgloss small ones also 1inch hand mirror, and other stuffs un related to makeup. im odd like that..im inlove with the fan brush >.>
I have dark skin and was sold this product. while I do use it I wish I had waited for something more suited to my skintone. It is VERY easy for me to go overboard with this product when I set my concealer. My biggest problem with benefit is their shade range in their foundations/concealers I mean really? just 3 shades? so irritating! I really like the texture and coverage of Erase Paste but #3 is still too light :( Next time I'll try Laura Mercier secret brightening powder in the darker shade.
@pinkiecharm Hmmm well I do happen to watch almost all of your videos. You do tell it like it is which I LOVE. However you are quite picky. To find something that you like and give good reviews doesn't come to often! :) But I still love you cause you give the best reviews out there!
@MrNicholasLiam If you watch most of my videos than you would know I don't "always hate everything." Out of the last ten reviews I uploaded, more than half of them were quite positive. And yes, I am picky but why is that a bad thing? *lol*
@pinkiecharm Yes.. Sometimes you do like somethings! But you just seem like very hard to empress. Maybe cause you have all the cosmetics every made? So you know your shit! But haha you just seem not amused by many things cause poor packaging and poor quality. Being picky is not a bad thing at all! I don't think you'd be the same if you "pretended" to like everything. At least your honest & real. I love you for that :D I'm not trying to be rude or hating on you! I just said sarcastically :)
@pinkiecharm Okay good. I want to hear how you'd pronouce my YT username. Unless I wasn't the first to request a review of the BareMinerals Well Rested.
I have this stuff too, and it seems to me to be simply a nice setting powder just like Irene said. When I run out, I'll probably just buy a high-end setting powder and use it in the same way and all over my face. There's no need for a second setting powder if you get a high-quality all-over setting powder.
In Germany we have a really great dupe for this powder just it's even better. Less shimmy/shiny. It's even a natural cosmetic company and since it's drugstore it's also a lot cheaper :)
This is one product I have tried and tried to get to work for me and finally gave up last week. I'll be 50 this year and have good skin for my age. It does settle into my fine lines and makes me look more wrinkly than I am. I totally detest this product. lol
Thanks for the review Irene! I've gone back and forth on whether or not to try this but now I've decided I won't bother. I may look into the well rested though, heard some good things about it!
@cailin000 I think it's okay as a setting powder but I've used other less expensive powders that work better. Bare Escentuals Well Rested sets my concealer and prevents it from creasing as well as actually conceals and is half the price of Powderflage. You can use any slightly shimmering eye shadow to brighten under the eyes. Keep in mind that just because I don't think it worked for me doesn't mean it might not work for you or for someone else.
I actually like this product! Yeah the brush sucks and it doesn't conceal, but I don't have under eye circles anyway. I love how it brightens up your face though, it makes me look awake and makes my eyes pop! :)
The SA at our Benefit counter insisted on trying this on me. She gently patted it on with a fan brush and smiled, saying how great it looked, then handed me a mirror. I don't know whether it's because I'm so near-sighted, but I held the mirror close and it just looked like she had dumped lots of little pale pink beads all under my eye. It looked awful, and I told her so. Maybe it's not so obvious at a distance, but if I know it looks like that I'm not going to be seen in public wearing it.
Soo glad you did this review I was going to get this because so many people raved about it. But I totally agree with you about benefit. I do graphic design at college and I do alot of packaging advertising etc and I just absolute hate thier tacky finishes and gimie names it's almost to false. There erase paste was like yellow gunk on my face. The only thin I have from them is one lipstick in my treat. Xxx
i refused to buy this tiny little thing for what, $28? in my opinion, any good (newer) formulas of loose powder containing silica should not settle into fine lines. however, we must apply the right formula/amount of concealer and use the powder sparingly. i agree with you irene about some of the products being schticky, however, i adore you and your salt of the earth no bones about it reviews! love from the east coast. : )
Powderflage is the bomb! LOL It is so much better than any other under eye setting powder I have every used. It doesn't necessarily conceal but it brightens my under eye area and gives it a flawless look without setting into my fine lines which is a BIG deal for me because I am much older. I love this stuff. By far my favorite product by Benefit. I have Bare Escentuals Well Rested and it does not do what Powderflage does for me. Oh, and I hate the brush that comes with it too...lol
Can u do a review on almay hydrating wakeup stuff plz. I always look at your reviews if I want to buy something I am iffy about, I really trust you opinion.
I use this everyday to set my concealer under my eyes. I use Bobbi Brown's corrector in Light Bisque, then my concealer... one of a few and then the Benefit Powderflage. I also dust it over my eyeshadow primer because I like to use matte shadows and this helps me with even application and blending. In other words, I dig it. It doesn't settle into fine lines, especially right at my lower lash line. Thanks for another great review!
it was always my understanding that this powder was to be used over concealer to stop it from settling into fine lines, etc. That's how I've always used it and it seems to work (for me).
@AroraLaurialis That is true but Benefit also claims it can conceal lightly. However, Bare Escentuals Well Rested doesn't settle into any fine lines, prevents my concealer from creasing AND conceals and costs half as much as Powderflage.
Ha! Yeah I bought this product and returned it! I bought it to help set my concealer and brighten. It only added a bit of cakiness and whiteness... a bit chalky looking. Not a good look. Back it went. And so overpriced! Some girls seem 2 like it, but I DID NOT. Great, fair & thorough review Darlin'! : D
I've never tried this item. I like (not love) benefit but I would rather spend money on a good concealer versus a good powder to set it, which is what I think this product is basically. But like I said, I've never tried it, so what do I know? =] Heidi
I agree with Benefit being really hit or miss. I love most of the boxed powders, their creaseless cream shadows, and that's it! Everything else I have tried has been a miss!
I do agree that it's pricey, but I like it for setting my undereye concealer. It's one of few products on the market that are meant for setting your undereye makeup.
Just wondering if you could do a make up collection video because I love all of these reviews but never really see how much you have collected from this an also how do you afford so much like all the time just constant collections and reviews ? Thanks :) have a great day !
This sucker is teeny teeny tiny. THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID. Sorry haha. I've never thought much of this product. I've always thought it's simply as good as a loose powder, which really doesn't cost much at all. But thanks for the review!
@mlambertiful It doesn't settle into fine lines, which I think I mentioned early on in the video. I'm pretty sure I did anyway. *lol* However, Bare Escentuals Well Rested doesn't settle into any fine lines, prevents my concealer from creasing AND conceals and costs half as much as Powderflage.
i have it too, doesn't conceal, but sets liquid concealers better than the l'oreal true match powder, or the revlon colorstay powder. just looks less cakey than those two. maybe 'cause the powder's finer?
@FaithersK It does, however for me so does just about every loose powder I've tried. And for $28, I'd rather spend it on a loose powder I can use all over my face. Ya know? :)
@pinkiecharm Yeah, but for me it doesn't cake or look dry like most "face powders" do (including well rested). Actually, any silica powder will do the same sort of job (cs silica spheres, elf hd powder, mufe hd powder, etc....) I just happen to like the pale pink color and the slight luminiosity of powderflage =)
@tinaluvsbunny YES. Crazy that it's so small, isn't it? *lol* It doesn't take a lot of product which may explain the size but it still seems like so little for so much money.
We really have different views about Benefit. I love that brand and I don't find it gimmicky at all.

The thing I love about this stuff is that it REALLY helps with not letting my concealer settle into the fine lines around my eyes :)
iheartmusic915 9 months ago
I agree with Benefit being hit or miss!!!

Thanks for this review... I was thinking about trying it but I already have Well Rested so I think I will just stick with that! xx :)
akaMissPunky 9 months ago
I agree with EVERYTHING that you said. I have always wondered if it was just me...
birdlove06 9 months ago
This sucker is teeny teeny tiny. THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID. Sorry haha. I've never thought much of this product. I've always thought it's simply as good as a loose powder, which really doesn't cost much at all. But thanks for the review!
aliceinvunderland 9 months ago
What about using it as a setting powder for concealer? Does it settle into fine lines or prevent the concealer from creasing?
mlambertiful 9 months ago
@mlambertiful It does not settle into fine lines for me and completely prevents my concealer from creasing :)
iheartmusic915 9 months ago
@mlambertiful It doesn't settle into fine lines, which I think I mentioned early on in the video. I'm pretty sure I did anyway. *lol* However, Bare Escentuals Well Rested doesn't settle into any fine lines, prevents my concealer from creasing AND conceals and costs half as much as Powderflage.

@LemonGecko1997 YES. :) I'm planning on one as soon as I can get to it.

GabriellaGlamour215 9 months ago
Thanks Irene!! Can u please do a review on essence products from ulta??
TheKajol1996 9 months ago
i have it too, doesn't conceal, but sets liquid concealers better than the l'oreal true match powder, or the revlon colorstay powder. just looks less cakey than those two. maybe 'cause the powder's finer?
aquachaoslemon 9 months ago
@aquachaoslemon Maybe, but Bare Escentuals' Well Rested works better for me and is half the price plus it conceals.
pinkiecharm 9 months ago 3
@pinkiecharm i have bare essential's summer bisque, love it more than the powderflage too.

****This works amazing at setting an under-eye concealer without causing cakiness****
FaithersK 9 months ago
@FaithersK It does, however for me so does just about every loose powder I've tried. And for $28, I'd rather spend it on a loose powder I can use all over my face. Ya know? :)
pinkiecharm 9 months ago 7
@pinkiecharm Yeah, but for me it doesn't cake or look dry like most "face powders" do (including well rested). Actually, any silica powder will do the same sort of job (cs silica spheres, elf hd powder, mufe hd powder, etc....) I just happen to like the pale pink color and the slight luminiosity of powderflage =)
FaithersK 9 months ago
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I trust your opinion cause you don't sugar coat and you give the best reviews. ^-^

@mizzothergal Yep. I posted an annotation to that effect. :)

the benefit powder doesn't cling to the lines under your eyes like reg powder
JustABitchyCancer 9 months ago
@JustABitchyCancer I don't have that problem with a lot of the loose powders I've tried, surprisingly.
pinkiecharm 9 months ago
Could you do a review of Shiro Cosmetics? Thanks. =)

thats the full size? :O
tinaluvsbunny 9 months ago
@tinaluvsbunny YES. Crazy that it's so small, isn't it? *lol* It doesn't take a lot of product which may explain the size but it still seems like so little for so much money.
