  • Your Awesome... 5 star for the video... awesomeness...

  • @awesomeguy171991 Thanks ...!

    Rich

  • Thanks a lot!

  • Great tutorial even after all this time! I like how you are clear, concise and straight to the point and keep things simple. Keep up the good work!

  • @TheWorldMovesWithYou The video is getting old, isn't it? It just proves that good techniques last for a long time ...

    Rich

  • I know it's been long you made this tutorial.. but why do you need the black shape on top of the background?

  • @lordcimek You are right - need to go through the video to figure it out.

First black is the gradient - black is simply for contrast.

Second black is the reflection surface and could be any color - that is the one made with the rectangular selection tool.

Third black is the linear gradient to soften the reflection.

If you still have a question let me know where (time) on the video.

    Rich

  • chuck norris?

  • @lolme123456789 Huh? Not sure why you typed that into the comments. Help me out here ,,,

    Rich

  • thank you I was looking for this

    great job .

  • @m3d2 Thanks ...

    Rich

  • Try to breathe away from the mic, it's really not pleasant to listen to you panting. Otherwise, good tutorial, thanks.

  • @WebsterScapeSauke It was the first video I made so it is not perfect and I'm leraning ...

    Rich

  • @riberg

It's alright, nobody's perfect, and I do realize this is an old video. Just a little constructive criticism.

  • @WebsterScapeSauke Ya - I realize that. Thanks for taking the time to contact me - I do appreciate it ...!

    Rich

  • im a beginner in photoshop, and having trouble getting my image (with bkgrnd) to a white backgound, and then getting the reflection, could you how you removed the image from the background, other videos show how but their strategies dont work once the reflection aspects come into play...?

    Thank you!!

  • It's floating...

  • @JTKstudios1 Not sure about the comment ...

    Rich

  • @riberg what r u unsure about

  • @riberg Not really sure where you are having problems - however I'll guess - the part that needs to be done up front is to remove the object to be reflected (in this case the banana) from whatever background it is on os the reflection can be done. Removing the banana (or whatever) is a function of making a good selection and probably the best way is with the Quick Mask.

    Hoping that helps out ...

    Rich

  • if we choose round shape tin pack and apply this method there is a problem with the base curve. reflection curve should reverse than original . how can draw a round tin back reflection please help me regarding this thank you!

  • Great job I liked the lesson.

  • @QnKentessaNBA Great ...!

    Rich

  • But ... WHY BANANA ? :))

  • @RichardDubstepRomani Because it creates a great reflection ...

    Rich

  • very nice, do you have a video on how to make someone hold an object?

  • @gimmjoww No I don't but it won't be too difficult. Give it a try and if you get stuck let me know ...

    Rich

  • @riberg oh I have many times, I just can't the image to be on the inside of the hand.

  • @gimmjoww So you want it to look like there is something being held in a hand, right?

    Photoshop? Elements? Paint Shop?

    R

  • @riberg correct and I have photoshop

  • @gimmjoww when you put the object in the hand erase the object where the hand is, for instance go to the hand layer make a selection around the hand then go to the object layer and click delete

  • @gimmjoww learn puppet warp tool in photoshop. i have cs5, dont know if its avail in earlier versions, but you can fold fingers and bend arms at the elbow with this transform tool.check it out on youtube. =D i just learned today. tool is located by the other transform tools.

  • @itzlegit1 Chuckle ...

    Rich

  • Nice video... Another option is to change the opacity of the image to 50 or 60 % thereby creating a shadow...

  • Great video. Helped me a lot. Thank you for taking the time to make this.

  • @rolle3rboi93 I'm glad you found it useful - thanks ...!

    Rich

  • Any particular reason you chose a banana...???

  • @RiddlesInHell Ya - it reflected really well and banana's are good ...

    Rich

  • Note you should have blurred the edges of the banana(s) a bit... they look too sharp.

  • @RShelpaa You are absolutley right! When the video was created I didn't know as much about those finer little points as I do now.

Hey everyone - blur the edges of the banana a bit - RShelpaa is right!

    Rich

  • @riberg Hehehe ;)

  • hehehe i cant take you seriously when you say banana :3

  • @wannabejapanesechica Gee - that's the only way I know to say Banana.

Do you have any suggestions for me ...?

Thanks for the comment and really - use the information and forget the way I talk.

    Rich

  • @joeinparis I did that when I was a rookie video maker. I think they are better now with full screen and zooming in and out.

    Sorry for the annoyance ...

    Rich

  • Would you suggest lowering the opacity of the reflection?

  • @GabrielW90 I'm glad you found something useful in the tutorial. As for the "awkward" background I guess each person has their own likes, right?

  • Nice and simple video thanks i have been in the photoshop trenches all day fighting a losing battle. It was good to get a moral booster.

  • OK - so what does it mean to be in the photoshop trenches all day?

I want to know and I expect others will as well.

At least I am glad to help your morale.

    Thanks for commenting ...

    Rich

  • My metaphor refers to the 1st world war and relates the size and difficulty of the task of total mastery of photoshop, a nearly impossible task, with the fruitless efforts of soldiers in the trenches of the 1st world war fighting a seemingly endless battle.
