I have the Honda eu3000is generator which is hands down the best generator out there on the market. I've owned the eu2000i generator although it was lightweight but was a little louder than my eu3000is under load. I'm done with LOUD ASS GENERATORS

@MrSCOOTEROCKET . You can make your own, just make sure it has enough space from heat, and is vented to the outside via a home made muffler.

I had been considering one for camping and for putting on the back of my boat. This demo showed none of these generators is quiet enough for that purpose. Even the inverter types would be exceedingly annoying to me and anyone around my campsite or anchorage. I'll use propane stoves for cooking/heating and batteries for light.

very informative. when buying a generator, it is important not only to consider the power output, but how loud it will be, specially for a generator that will be run in a camping situation, or in a backyard for emergency power, a quieter generator is more desirable in such scenarios.

Listen to the first and second generator running under load. The little 2000 really revs up the little engine. It's quiet but also sounds different.

I have heard the EU3000iS in person and it is great. This video really isn't like being there with it running under no load, light load, medium load and finally working hard. The smaller portables while quiet have high speed engines and make sound that is harder to take than the deeper roar. He should have run the big bad 10,000 Watt with 2 cylinder engine. That one does make lots more NOISE but it's for job site use and not at home running late at night.

Actually, they're not bad at all. They aren't playing any tricks to make them sound quieter than they are. You can still clearly hear the man speaking over the loudest generator without raising his voice. Compare them with other brands of generators, and you will quickly tell the difference.
