  • i'm sorry but this is creepy to me.

  • beyonce isn't the only one... look at lady gaga. Hop off. Anyways love this very, it's very creative.

  • great choreography and performance, thanks for sharing

  • no copy. to copy=to take something and air it like if it was yours, like if it would belong to you

    this is inspiration,not copy

  • There's no art that is 100% original. Saying Beyonce plagiarized this dance is like saying Keersmaeker plagiarized people sitting down and leaning over. Especially in a video with so many pop culture references as Countdown, where there's no need for giving credits, its just a look back at dance/pop culture of the past few decades so everyone hop off!

  • what is the name of the music

  • @TaylorTheDiva It sounds like Thierry de Mey, who has collaborated with Keersmaeker many times over the years. I don't know the name of this specific piece but I own three CDs of his work, two on the Sub Rosa label and another on the Accord label. All are well worth seeking out. There may be others as well.

  • sooo chya i came here thx to beyonce. heres my take on it. all dances can be inspired from other dances. i feel tht her video was merely inspired by this piece. its not like she took the EXACT choreography and put it in her video. all dances have some traces of inspiration from other dances. same concept goes to writing stories. theres no such things as completely 100% original. there will always be someone who says, "i used tht hand motion in my dance" :o. thts jus how i see it.

  • this is AMAZING ....but at the same time...a little boring :/

  • the synchronization is amazing

  • Maybe we should just, y'know, shut up and enjoy art.

  • beyonce also brought me here...and this "dance" is kinda freaking me out :o

  • Anyway! Beyonce brought me here! i didn't know this before

  • Omg I actually got scared watching this. It was like something was gonna pop from somewhere

  • Beyoncé brought me here and I´m glad for that because I discovered a great artist - Ms de Keersmaeker.

  • Thumbs up if you only came here to see the similarities of this video and Beyonce's !! And if you skipped ahead ..

  • Whitney Houston and MAdonna have both gotten inspired by these dances so hop off of beyonces dick just saying

  • strange yet inspiring

  • this dance looks painful.

  • this is amazing!

  • @braveisaac YES! And it should never had been cheapen down to Beyonce's video Countdown (especially when you listen to the simpleton lyrics/message of Beyonce's song). This dance has NOTHING to do with being excited about some freakin' guy to grind upon on! Beyonce and her choreographer owes Ms. Anne Teresa De Deersmaeker a deep and sincere public apology.

  • Everyone is taking stabs at Beyoncé, but it wasn't HER that directed the video, so it wasn't HER that "stole". She has a creative teams that presents ideas to her. Everybody wants to attack the artist when they sample work, or manipulate choreography, but half the time they don't know what it comes from...

  • @zacxhughes

If a set of directors came to me with ideas and choreography first of all I would ask Did you steal this? 2 Is it Original? 3 Did you steal this? Anything that has Beyonce's name attached to something is a major priority so saying it wasn't her fault is bull shit you can fire that whole team the bitch can buy a million more directors if her stealing ass wanted to!

  • @ciciabadbytch Really, the first thing you'd ask is, "Did you steal these?" Don't you think it would be kind of insulting to just assume right off the bat that the choreographer didn't choreograph his own dance?

  • For the people who keep saying that, "if it weren't for beyonce, people would not have come to this video." the fact of the matter is was beyonce never gave anne any credit, so if the "haters" would never have found this video and blasted bey, we would not have known she used this vid as inspiration. So bey didn't bring us here, "haters" did.

  • @diarraragland09 I agree. This video would not be watched if it weren't for Countdown. It watches more dynamic than this, because Keersmaeker's coreography itself seems so slow, senseless and zombistic.

  • viva beyoncé... le dio vida a anne teresa

  • WAAAAH THAT FREAKS ME OUT..o.o

  • they are freaking hot!!

  • que carajos es esto xd

  • No wonder why beyonce was so inspired this is a really good dance piece I love it beyonce did a good job of remaking this dance piece :) 10 10's across the board

  • i doubt she stole im sure beyonce asked for their permission first and they said it was fine :) its an amazing dance :D now everyones happy x

  • @MsBleurgh she didn't ask for permission. Anne Theresa released a statement about it, you can look it up.

  • weird.... i don't know what i just saw....

  • Beyonce went far copying this video: even the clothes and set.

  • Come on, you got to cut Beyonce some slack! If it wasn't for her, the younger generation would never have come to this video and they wouldn't have known who Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker is! I sure didn't until now!

  • @MissYoungMula1 contemporary or fine arts dance majors would know of this work

  • sa me fait peur cette dance hi pardon !

  • We actually had to study this is my first year of dance studies at the University of Auckland. Now in my final year, I still consider this piece to be one of the most memorable performances.

  • @fiqary this isnt the first time beyonce had done this, this is a repeated thing with her. and before someone does a video copying someone else, they ask for permission first. If they werent sued, then you know for a fact, that they had permission to move forward with there product/production. there is a reason why there are some many entertainment lawyers and etc. people should really do there research before they try to justify what she did..

  • Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker I respect you, but if you mounted a choreography like that you should not have to be sane! However..great dancers!

  • im also tired of people talking about originality. nobody is never that original even back in the day people talk about nicki minaj copying lil kim and foxy brown. anybody who wanna make that statement take your ass and do some research on a lady named milli jackson. oh and one more thing people that claim being die hard mj fans and say that he invented the moon walk take yo ass and do some research a R&B group shalamar and click on the name billy ocean.

  • im tired of complaining ass people that wanna complain about bey or any other artist for that matter this damn movie or video probably came out in the 80s and i was born in 91 if it wasnt for beyonce's countdown video i probably would not be rearching no damn anne teresa de keersmaeker that is why its called paying homage simple people. ive never even heard of this movie, but now beyonce just re introduced to me and my generation. exactly the same thing with bob fosse & josephine baker.

  • im tired of complaining ass people that wanna complain about any other artist for that matter this damn movie or video probably came out in the 80s and i was born in 91 if it wasnt for beyonce's countdown video i probably would not be rearching no damn anne teresa de keersmaeker that is why its called paying homage simple people. ive never even heard of this movie, but now beyonce just re introduced to me and my generation. exactly the same thing with bob fosse & josephine baker.

  • @redrd7 i feel EXACTLY the same way

  • This is beautiful I have seen this sometime agoI don't remember when I thought it was just great and as for Beyonce "Sampling" she did a good job and she would have been all over it if she was not pregnant. Now I think she should pay for sampling dance they have to pay for sampling music. She has done it many times Fosse and those Afrikan boys for run the world (she had to pay them her people could not get the dance right so they found them and flew them here to teach)

  • paying homage is respectfully you giving credit where credit is do/ and she DID NOT do that .

  • @lisabonnetful It was a source of inspiration. Do you think other music videos that have used other inspirations have credited all their inspirations at the end of the MVs? Example Madonna's Material Girl video, did they credit Gentlemen Prefer Blondes? No. Its up to the viewer wether they know the source of inspirations and wether they don't and when they don't, they normally don't care. But when its from an artist they hate, they say shit like the artist is copying.

  • @fiqary I don't think this is about hate. When you compare the 2 videos, it's obvious that Rosas is not just used as an inspiration. I really like Beyonce's music, but you can see that the videos are very similar, almost exact. Not only the dance, also the clothes and hair are the same. It's not the first time she's being accused for plagiarism. But I have to be honest, her version of Rosas is so cool :) if she only had asked for the use...

  • @xFLIPDOZEx But do you think Shania Twain asked Robert Palmer when she did Man! I Feel Like A Women video? I don't think so. Plus, Anne is not bothered by the video, here is what she have to say: ht tp :// w w w . stubru.be/programmas/zetmopsiska/beyoncevsanneteresadekeersmaeker.

and the director Adria Petty explains about the whole thing: ht tp :// ww w .gq.com/style/blogs/the-gq-eye/2011/10/video-deconstruction-director-adria-petty-on-beyoncs-countdown.html

  • That figures...I knew something was strange about Beyonce using a setting where she looked like she was in a psyche ward with a bunch of girls dancing. I must say though...this liked to have put me to SLEEP.

  • Only reason I'm here is because beyonce did it and I wanted to see why she chose this piece to pay homage to...now I see why. It's amazing!

  • 07:09 ok thats awesome!

  • * in their own way? I think this piece is phenomenal and I can see why Beyonce added it to another one of her video references. Cmon now ppl. We already know this has been Beyonce's nature for a while now lol

  • Ppl do covers of songs all the time. What's the difference if somebody was inspired by someone else's choreography and interpreted it I. Their own way

  • @enanejD I totally agree with you! This is so powerful and amazing. I would have never even seen this great piece if Beyonce didn't use her for a reference. Amazing...

  • WHY DOES QUEEN.B HAVE TO STEAL EVERYONE CHOREOGRAPHY AND MAKE IT MORE DOPE THAN THE ORIGINAL...(If it wasn't for the video count down I wouldn't know Anne Teresa)

  • @DaliltwinNunu That's why she steals because she knows her fans are not going to know who Anne Teresa is. Bustes once again. And Anne Teresa is very upset and sueing her fake belly ass!

  • like if you came here because of beyonce rumor! lol.

  • Wow this is AMAZING!!...hummm I guess I should thank Beyonce? *shrug* lol

  • Simply beautiful.

  • Did Beyonce steal this choreo for her new video countdown?

  • @juan4rmgrease her team brought her a lot of ideas. if you read the articles out on it, they mention Audrey Hepburn, the beatniks, etc. But they don't really mention de Keersmaeker. And for good reason. The Countdown choreography doesn't allude to de Keersmaeker, it out and out takes it and uses it in its entirety. She has flown in dancers to use them in her videos. I find it hard that she couldn't reach out to the Rosas dance company. Especially when this choreo isn't pertinent to her life.

  • @juan4rmgrease i´m shure she got authorized for it

if it were not for her i would not be here waching

  • @DionDJVJ I've heard that Mrs de Keersmaeker was willing to file a sue against Béyonce.

  • @juan4rmgrease looks like it.

  • @juan4rmgrease she most likely paid the person who created it for her music video but you know everyone is gonna say she stole it lol

  • @juan4rmgrease Beyonce sure did steal it. they are sueing her ass!

  • @juan4rmgrease CONGRATULATIONS! U JUST NOTICED!

  • @juan4rmgrease

Yes, Beyonce stole it without permission.

  • @juan4rmgrease they didn't ask Anne to be apart of the video, so yes she stole it. She stole some of Anne's stuff. I like Beyonce's music, but she has to pay.

  • @juan4rmgrease yes but she changed it already

  • this is one of their best ♥

  • @ImperialKingDevils YOU just don't know what art is -.- this had to be really hard, I don't understand you don't see that it's amazing..

  • what the @#$% is this?? u call that art?? i call that eye burnin

  • I've seen this vid already a few times..

It still fascinates me! I love it c:

  • Just love it!

  • absolutely great work!!! genius choreographer, very passionate dancers, nice cutting. i'm in love this this )

  • What amazing choreography!!

  • They sleep in a strange way!
