  • Hi Anders,

Thanks for the comments. You have good ears. Actually, I did use the middle pickup on that section, but I recorded the soundtrack separately, which is why you don't see me switch pickups on the video.

    Best regards, James

  • Hi James, the difference is so small when you compare both recordings, but the end product is a lot fuller sounding guitar. T.U. for this alteration.

    Regards Brian

  • Hi Brian,

Thanks for watching/listening to both of my versions of The Stranger. I agree that tweaking the sound in this small way made a big difference in the end result.

    Regards, James

  • Hi james,

Another good rendition *****,am jealous at that great echo equipment you have.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Ciao Joop.

  • Hi Joop,

Thank you so much for watching version 2 of The Stranger and for your kind comments. I agree that the TVS3 is a great unit to reproduce those vintage echoes of The Shadows.

    Cheers, James

  • Wow James, that is really is really great now the sound is much better, 5 thumb's my friend

    Cheers Ric

  • Hi Ric,

I agree that my second version of The Stranger sounds a lot better than the first. The EQ settings made a big difference. I appreciate your kind remarks.

    Cheers, James

  • Nice sounds 5*

  • Thanks Shep!

  • Hey James!

So much the better. More open and fatter. Almost perfect!

I think you've won a lot of the new EQ setting.

If you want to take another step toward Hank sound so strongly recommend to change strings to 11-52 with wound g-string. Especially if you have more guitars. My experience is that I get much fatter sound and the Vox AC30 delivers a true vintage sound immediately. I do not know if you send the signal through the amplifier behind you?

    Best wishes from Stockholm, Sweden

    / / Rolf

  • Hi Rolf,

Thanks for your suggestions and encouragement. I agree this version sounds better, and heavier strings will help even more in future.

    Best Regards, James
