the sheep led moses to the burning bush? christians would say that sheep is jesus leading humanity to god. jesus said (if he even existed and the new testament is accurate): "i am the way, the truth and the life. no one comes to the father but by me." the lamb of god is a commonly used christian reference to jesus. ronen knew this and didn't want to mention his name. some jews are truly hostile to the name of jesus
that's a lie. animal sacrifice was a part of judaism b/c judaism comes from paganism, just like all religions. jews are trying to justify jewish animal sacrifice in the past without acknowledging their pagan origins. before the 3 abrahamic religions, everybody was a pagan.
I don't know if there's a hell being an Atheist i don't believe in one but if there is, be rest assured you jews, muslims and chiristians you will surely go the worst part of hell and burn there forever.
i am really confused! i have studied Judaism and (i am Jewish by birth)
one of the main reasons i do not practice the religion is due to the fact the animal sacrifice is still used in rituals today!! i think its called "kaparot" i asked a rabbi to explain it to me and his response was that the meat was given to charity. now that much is OK. but the ritual prayer is wrong "this is for my purification of sins , that the rooster will die and I'll go a long good life and peace."

torah says "thou shall not murder" There is a difference between killing a murdering. When one murders, it comes from bad intention. When you kill a spider or a fly that say on your cake, you had no intentions of making that indect suffer. No one kills by accident either. Murder is pre-meditated. Since there are laws of kashros that should tell you a msg about what g-d preferes. Also, He told jews that there are certain animals you cant eat from. Anymore question, just ask:)
@fabu10us I think he means, it is wrong to kill another living creature so that you are free of your sins, and I agree 100%. If you commit a sin, then you should bear the punishment, not another living creature. Considering almost every adult sins every day, that's a hell of a lot of lambs killed on our behalf.
In williamsburg Brooklyn Hassids cleanse themselves with chickens and then there's a rabbi who kills all the chickens in a booth or something.... I have the video favorited if you want me to share it.... I don't remember for what holiday it is
What sort of a creature is it that desires death and blood. What a disgusting thing it is you worship. This creature that demanded that Isaac murder his son but then just the last minute it was satiated with the blood of an animal. Foul and evil beyond belief. You are worshipping a devil.
In my understanding its clear that the animal sacrifice practice is traced to Abel (and thus it was not a "pagan"(pagan meaning a person that doesnt know and serve the true God) tradition and that Abel perhaps had gotten the idea from God killing an animal to cover adam and eve as a reminder that God loved people so much that he would rather other creatures die for teh sake of his favorite creation
I do not but I have started learning for it. The rabbi in Livingston said i should get it but I feel if he know that I like to talk about things that aren't always so mainstream, he might change his mind.
Also, I don't know if I have the calling to be a rabbi. But we'll see. One day at a time,
See killing is allowed only under very strict circumstances.
Generally speaking, it is forbidden. We are not supposed to be on the level of animals - we are supposed to use our intellect to get along with each other as the Torah says - and you loved your brother as yourself.
You would never kill a brother you loved as much as yourself and we are to see everyone as our brother. This is why Adam exists - so no one can say to another "My fahter was greater than yours."

Eh, the Torah is clear: Thou shall not kill. Orthodox Jews do not kill people. It goes against what we were taught at Sinai.
G-d demands of us that we use our intellect to works torwards peace and harmony with all of mankind.
ronennachman770 3 years ago
But doesn't that mean Thou shall not murder? Clearly killing is allowed in the Torah.
