  • it's important that people know that you knew about how eating pizza was cool before everybody else saw the pizza ad. -Original Ray's

  • Ndubz all the way niggaz!

  • Eff t mobil. One of his best eva

  • Are people arriving at this music through lame advertising? How depressing.

  • The Velvet Fog!

  • My dad always listens to this song, so I just kinda inherited his good taste.

  • wowww, this is so interesting for me! my grandma went to high school with him! hahah she said she was in the "dummy math class" with him!

  • This kat knows what's up, this is soul-tastic!!

  • cool as fuck.

  • Thumbs up if you imagine dancing Dominic Cooper when you listen to this song:D

  • Icy, it was on briefly in the movie Two Weeks Notice.

  • <3 This song is so great. The lovely film An Education introduced me to it about a year ago. Been in love with it since. The film had a fantastic soundtrack.

  • Chuck S03E15 brought me here. Love some of the music they put in each episode!

  • Looooove this version! I thihnk if was used on a' Sex & In The City' Episode. Good Fit!!!

  • now thats what I'm talkin' bout...!!!

  • episode 15 from the 3rd series' of chuck brought me here :P

  • This song copied off of Megaman2! Capcom should SUE!

  • @kmvoss Actually, this song was written in 1962, while Megaman 2 was released first in Japan in 1988. So it's the other way around. :)

  • @vidgamescool I saw Mel Torme play this at Disneyland in 1955

  • @kmvoss lol, Mel should sue....and so should metallica for that matter XD

  • The Velvet Fog.

  • sweet song!;) x

  • Sweet Music.Very cool.

  • 13 people can't find their way home

  • Did you know this was a big influence on the Beatles' "I Want You" on Abbey Road. Listen to that minor chord's first, third and fifth note...they're the same.

  • heard it on tom pettys buried treasure sirius satelite deep tracks if you havent listened to tp's buried treasure show your missin out

  • The Skatalites made an instrumental version of this great song in1964: "Christine Keeler".

  • @eracism09 Same here! As soon as I heard this in that movie, I had to find it :P

  • Actually came here because I'm listening to "The Mel Torme Collection"

  • Heard this song in a cute movie called "Born to be Wild"

  • The King used this instrumental to introduce hos TCB band from 1969 till 1974. Cool!

  • Thumbs up if you heard this at the end of the BBC's coverage of Formula One qualifying for German Grand Prix 2011.

  • This is too cool.

  • im prob the only person that remembers they used to reference him all the time on 'night court'

  • hearing for the first time... real classic man nice

  • Thanks for posting the original version. Mr Torme re-recorded the song for various albums, but the original 45 had a wonderfully earthy timbre, and those husky-voiced backing babes added some sensuous undercurrents that were lacking in the re-recorded versions. Brings back happy memories of '62.

  • Oh jeez - this fella was cool:)

  • Perfect

  • One of the most effortlessly sexy songs I have ever heard! Loved it in An Education and have been loving it ever since!

  • Thumbs up if you knew this song before the T-mobile ad!

  • @kronikil I came here via Google search for this song after hearing it on the Imax movie "Born to Be Wild." Original music for the film was scored by Mark Mothersbaugh, ex Devo, and go-to composer to Wes Anderson (Rushmore, Royal Tennenbaums etc). I wonder if Mothersbaugh picked the rest of the soundtrack music. Andersons' films have great chestnuts in them, rivaling Quentin Tarrantino's flair for finding forgotten cool.

  • @kronikil I remember this from my teenage years, I'm 64, and I've always rated it highly. The Baron knights made a real crap job of covering it in 1964. No one comes close to this version. Did you know Thora Hird was his mother-in -law? The most unlikely of candidtates, but her daughter was quite a girl. Anyway, I wish you peace.

  • @kronikil

    There's a T-Mobile ad with this?

  • @kronikil What T-mobile ad?

  • He's a Russian jew.

  • anyone here because of the film ''an education''??? don't think so ey!

  • @canard1du1bain i miiiight just be.

  • @canard1du1bain i always think of An Education when I hear this :)

  • @canard1du1bain the movie the iron giant made me

  • @iamcooldk I thought I was the only one who got this song from the Iron Giant Soundtrack

  • @canard1du1bain Even though I watched "An Education", I'm here after watching "Two weeks notice" with Sandra Bullock.

  • The T-Mobile commercial is Michael Buble, not Mel Torme.

  • Id love to see the geezer sing it. Epitome of cool jazz/soul/RnB

  • 11 people where born deaf, hatin they can`t listen to awesomeness

  • How cool is this??? The great Mel so cool this guy I admired all my life he was there when as a young man when I discovered jazz and thus Mr. Mel Torme, Thanks Mel for this great performance as usual you put heart and soul into your craft and life’s work - RIP – Mr. Mel Torme----Thanks for the memories and all the great music part of the soundtrack of my life ---- Thanks for this upload

  • @nietsdoen78 I love that movie!! I just watched it the other day. I don't remember when that scene occured. Was it their first "date" at the jazz club?

  • @ilovepesto19 No, it's in the horse race scene! She dances with Danny to this song, as David and Helen watch on somewhat jealously. =)

  • can u imagine how much tail that voice got him

  • t mobile sent me here

  • What does this song talk about actually? (I mean what's the story behind it)

  • The Cookies are doing the wonderful backing vocals

  • I've loved this since 'Two Weeks notice' ;D

  • how can anyone dislike this classic- one for fans of all types of music

  • Mel hated rock and roll, however this song rose to number 36 on the billboard charts in 1962, making him, for a very short time, an involuntary pop star in the eyes of some young fans. He was not happy with this form of attention!

  • sooooo soooo good!

i'm so addicted to this song.

  • not bad

  • How Ironic was it that Elvis used the music from this to introduce his band on his live stage shows..He corded comin home unfortunately it was a totally different song!!

  • Chuck brought me here

  • Mel Torme in his autobiography, expressed a dislike for this song

and regretted doing it. It certainly is not up to his usual standard

of material. I agree with Mel.

  • @dancebandleader

disagree....it's sublime. Sad to know Mel didnt like it. And yes, I am fully aware of his other work.

Please don't tell me he didn't like 'At The Crossroads' as well....

Great song, Mel Torme has a killer voice

  • @MelissaTicky That is very cool that they did that. My folks and I used to play old records when I was a child and the thre of us would just dance in our living room, those were the good old days :)

  • @MelissaTicky such a cute little vivid memory, i actually pictured them :)

  • Many thanks for posting this classic ! - an instrumental version of which was also chosen by Booker T. and the MG's for inclusion on their debut album.
