@Basti6814 Sweden originally ordered the 18 NH90 in the 90's and were promised to have them all delivered by 2001. Today, 10 years after the deadline, one of them were delivered to the Air Force. All of them are said to be fully operational by 2020 and maybe even later. The older helicopters which the NH90 were to replace got so old that they had to be retired without any helicopter to replace it. That's why Sweden decided to buy 15 UH-60M's. To fill the gap between the retired and the NH90
@Basti6814 The worst part about the NH90 is that it can't land on uneven surfaces. It's a great helicopter, no doubt, but it just sort of lacks that competence which we so desperately need. Sweden were stupid enough, not to get any legal parachutes. So we won't get any money in return because they're late and if we cancel we get sued. Most large Joint-developments turn for the worst. The A400M also seems like a great plane, but it is constantly delayed and it costs heaps of money to operate.
@Basti6814 We have purchased 14 NH 90 = HKP14 , we are making our country ready for NATO in the future as we now 2011 isn't a neutral country any more :P.
@JukkAMoviE No, Sweden has ordered 18 NH90's. Not 14. And no, we're not getting any more ready for NATO than what we did 40 years ago. A membership in NATO is not possible unless the majority of the people in Sweden vote yes. With the growing anti-americanism here in Sweden, a NATO-membership within the next 20 years is close to impossible. Libya and Afghanistan are far from the only armed conflicts Sweden has participated in. "Tunnan"-jets participated in Kongo during the 70's for an instance
@wellerocks By the 70's almost all "Tunnan" aircrafts were retired and replaced by Draken and soon with Viggen aircrafts.
Tunnan was used mainly during the last half of the 50's to mid 70's. Some still stayed in service for practice and more.
The Kongo crisis lasted from 1960 to 1964, then all UN troops left the country. Of the 15 killed Swedes in action, 7 of them, If I remember correctly was friendly fire of other nation, someone really doesn't likes Swedes out in the world.
@wellerocks The Swedish palament dosent need an election to say yes to NATO, they are elected by the people once every 4th year and can do more or less anything they want, the election 1955 about driving on the right side of the road didnt the Swedish parlament lisen to the people and did it anyway, common electon are to get the peoples mind in the issue but arent a law making dession, its a hedder for the parlament what the people wants...

Mis-spelled Augusta.
Personally, i would like to see the EH-101 Merlin in operation.
But, i guess, it's pretty much the same as the NH-90.
