i believe that was actually the keeper jin, invented by the 3s player keeper. very damaging as you saw, but also requires very strict execution, which is probably why you dont see it used more by yun players. but obviously yakkun has been practicing

I'm simply saying that compared to some of the other players on show here, Vanao really isn't very impressive. The rounds he manages to take are mostly fuelled by landing his Denjin and hoping that it doesn't get parried.

theres a lot of misconceptions in using denjin.
but when you use denjin, youre obviously playing to throw out a denjin setup that would stun your opponent (if not close as possible), etc, etc. thats basically a denjin game for anybody.
when you choose aegis, your game relies on trapping your opponents in unblockables, etc.
its a style of play chosen by the players.
from the 3 games vanao played here, i can say he managed to use denjin very well except for that full screen 5 hits.
I was simply saying that Vanao seemed to be relying on the Denjin for most of his damage, without really getting much out of anything else. Perhaps I'm skeptical because in comparison to the technical difficulty of, say, a Keeper Jin, or a successful link into Dudley SA3, it's relatively easy to perform.
I don't think so. If you watch a lot of Alex fights you might notice that SA1 and SA3 are not used very often, and even when they are used they don't do much. SA1 has 3 frames startup so if you try to use it as a Gigas the opponent can always jump out on reaction, it's only guaranteed after a HP chop. SA3 can be jabbed out of. SA2 ... it's only used for EX, which are good, but otherwise it's a poor super to cancel into due to its low range and huge recovery when the throw whiff.
True, SA3 trash, but you -can- combo into it (from MP flash chop). In case of big mistake its an amazing punish. Its still trash though.
SA1 is amazing on parry, really.. Its very easy and quick to input. SA2 brings a much safer gameplay... but SA1 is very scarry in the hand of a skilled player.
Its just that no Alex player bother with it competitively, but I'm sure they could do relatively well with it.
I really wish it had a 1 frame startup, though. Now that would be interesting to use..
SA1 is absolute garbage. Even if you do it on wake-up and your opponent is in the middle of a normal (other than FP/RH), they still have to time to jab you out of SGH. Anyone who's played 3S for more than a day can get out of SGH traps easily. It rarely works. Considering Alex needs all the help he can get, SA1 is not a good idea.

Yakkun was Kara-ing the standing MP to either itself or some other move like jab or short. I don't find it too safe but it looks awsome.

25:12 - Rare footage of Yun actually getting the Keeper Jin wrong.
Great matches, but someone has to tell Vanao that a Denjin setup does not make you a top-tier player.
