  • YES VERY GOOD SONG CHAIN REACTION ENERGIC AND SENSATIONS THANKS AND WELCOME ON YOUTYBE FB ZIRGLE AND THE WAVES

  • OMG! I'm toats jealbots 2000 at her. She looks like an anorexic skinny corpse. I want her body!

  • the part in black and white..was that in the 70s or what?

  • @yosraz1 No it wasnt. This song is from 1986 and so is the music video. The 60's theme was all apart of the storyline which was of her being transported back to the days as a young and rising star in the 1960's. She looks very youthful here, considering she 42 years old by this time!

  • @sweetsoulfulmelody93 ..Thanks a lot for your reply..Wow .she looks really young in the black and white scenes,,she doesn't seem 42 at all at those parts..

  • @yosraz1 I agree with you there! LOL She truly looks stunning and still thin by this time. If you take a look at footage of her in the 70's, like in the film Mahagany (1975) she looks so beautiful, and although this music video is from the mid 80's, her looks only changed slightly. She also made the big hair part of her normal look and it became her trademark. LOL Im only 19, but I know so much about her. She is such an inspiration.

  • Still a hot mama after all these years. Love you, girl! :)

  • in her prime diana ross was the biggest female star on the planet and that is as it should be,she is the original pop queen.

  • Diana Ross is so talented across so many decades...if you don't understand how talented she is, maybe it is time to crawl back to Big6 and take your racist comment against black people with you cos the rest of the thinking, intelligent, literate world just understand this thing called "talent".I am talking to the racist down below who "thinks" he is chinese...lol. Diana Ross is amazing. Respect for that brilliant lady!

  • i love all the chord changes in this.

  • This song rocks! For thise of you who hate it, screw you!

  • I Don't like it and i am serious! She looks like a skanky crack head!

  • @MrChinesecrested No, you're confusing her with Whitney Houston!

  • Why does she always sound like she has a clothes pin on her nose!? One word Hun = EWwwwwwwwww

  • @MrChinesecrested fk you you have no money no life troll shes prettyer than and sing better than you will ever, that why shes famopus and your not

  • @MrChinesecrested Give it a rest Troll Bitch, You're not fit to drink from her toilet

  • Diane ross was my fav motown artist. I have great memories of chain-reaction in paphos cyprus as I danced to this great song on the podeium at the starsky & hutch night-club it was a great night and fin around six in the morning.

  • great video

  • Isn't she beautiful.

  • @TheJanetsvids that she is.

  • Im so glad that people in the U.K brought this song to number 1.

I can't figure out why it flopped in America! Another song that the U.K brought to number 1 was "I'm Still Waiting" in 1971. That SHOULD have been a number 1 in the U.S too!! Anyway, I love this song, and Miss Ross is certainly the Queen of pop!

  • SO LOVELY! BRILLIANT!

  • This woman could eat both Lady Gaga and Amy Whorehouse in the same sandwich. She had OODLES of it.

  • Really Quite raunchy lyrics in this song. Probably wouldn't get made today because all the DO-GOOD police would flip out. Beyonce wont be doing a make-over with those lyrics. Her 11-15 year old fans wouldn't understand it.

  • Les Grossman?

  • What a beauty!!

  • Lady gaga OWNS!

  • I love it black guys dancing like white guys!

  • danced to this many a time pissed up at a disco!

  • wow she was thin!

  • THE SONG IS WRITTEN BY THE GREAT BARRY GIBB

  • I am addicted to this tune!

  • Amazing song. Guaranteed to cheer you up :)

  • love this song because the Bee Gees are in the background :)

  • @bullseyeify1 they've written the song for diana ross.

  • @krimane I know the Bee Gees are just amazing :) :)

  • damn she sexy

  • I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • DIana Ross with Bee Gees as back up!! Too, too good.

  • I've always loved Diana Ross but in this case you have to give some credit to the Bee Gees for writing such a perfect song for her and doing outstanding back up vocals.

  • Diana i love u !!!

  • I hate her!!!!!

  • @12pinky1 You need to be shot.

  • @mousey451 I was just kiiding I like her some of her songs are sad.

  • no better background vocals then bee gees

  • @bartjebakker It's where they should stay too!

  • Hi there - great sound quality. There is a slight blipslip in the song at 1:19 - any chance of re recording this as its such a fab tune and video? What do you think?

  • Yes, I would like to know what was asked earlier by "thedecpticons" where is the b&w footage from? This is a great video, thank you.

  • Where is the B&W footage from cos there is no way it is her at 41 she looks so much thinner than when they flash to her now version??

  • @THEDECEPTIC0NS to answer your question: this video was shot in London around January 1986 - including the B&W footage! This B&W footage has been the topic of so much discussion over the years. Diana can put together so many guises - just for one video!

  • @windwardjammer Thanks! I thought it probably was from the same time but its hard to believe. She looks 21 not 41!

  • @THEDECEPTIC0NS I agree with you....Diana looks sensational in this video. It was a stroke of pure genuis!

  • diana does it best

  • one simple word: diva

  • Fantastic.

  • damn these fucking adverts :/

  • @rachel15821 i agree

  • for the person who wrote that steps version was better than miss ross, what planet are you from, miss ross is an icon and a legend with one of the all time ever greatest voices, while steps were a manufactured two second wonder of talentless people, your comment is so ridiculous i am embaressing myself by responding to such garbage, viva miss diana ross, the greatest female artist ever, period.

  • FANTASTIC

  • Diana Ross......THE BOSS OF R&B!!!

  • Great way to start the day! :)

  • one of my all time favs

  • steps version is 100000% better!

  • Sounds like the Bee Gees as the back vocals...

  • @olahjoci : it's the bee gees. this song was written by the bee gees...

  • @ynossi65 Never late to learn... :-D Thanks!!!

  • steps version is miles better

  • @MrJamesmusic WHAT?! That's blasphemy;-)

  • she looks like naomi campbell here...hot

  • i loved this song the good old days

  • Oh fuck off 30 second ads!!!

  • Where has this fabulous woman gone?! This is one of the best songs and videos of the 1980s. No wonder it was #1 for so long.

  • I love the way this song presents Diana from humble beginnings to Queen Diva !!!

absolutely love the song too...Diana is a legend and Queen Diva !!!

  • We used to play this in science class when we did experiment demonstrations

  • Need a version that doesnt look like it was videoed on a cheap mobile phone.........

  • This song was written by the Bee Gees.

  • Elle est trop belle !

  • Wonderful song...this made my day! :)

  • I can't believe Diana was 41 when she did this video...... she's stunning and still is today!

  • In my eyes Barry Gibb is the greatest song writer. He writes mysterious, sexy, classy, meaningful songs...and this one's no exception!!

  • Diana rocks!

  • Shes so good...so hot! Saw her in Las Vegas, and then she made me sing a long. Super talent!

  • Sexy song!

  • Just discovering her now. Music back then seemed so pretty, and I'm happy I can in a way experience it with artist's like Diana

  • @mikeparez you will definitely enjoy the discovery of diana. there is plenty to see and to find out. that she can pull so many views and yet hasn't had a hit in USA for over 20 years really says something i think.

  • Why are some people always obliged to compare? Can't you just enjoy? Each artist has it good and bad sides. Listen, criticize, but DON'T COMPARE.

Or what? Maybe everybody should do the same thing, for you to be happy?

  • Chills... Diana Ross, always so elegant.

  • OH MY GAWD! I'LL TAKE TINA TURNER OVER MISS ROSS ANYDAY! I NEED ENERGY NOT BOREDOM!

  • csupremes, What a FOOL you are, trying to find ANY little Tid Bit of Bull Shit to Minimize Diana Ross, Who the Hell cares?, Just for your information, Cindy or Mary NEVER recorded a Word on Love Child or Someday We'll be Together & Flo didn't show up to record "My World is Empty Without You", No One cares who the Background Singers were, There were more Psuedo Supremes than Real Ones!, ONE VOICE was Lead on ALL those 18 Number 1's DIANA ROSS, Wash Down that Bitter Pill with some Sour Grapes

  • Gosh this video reminds me of the scene in Dream Girls! Love that move!

  • this couldn't be better as it rekindles all that old school excitement but with modern production values.......Diana always had to talent, she had the voice AND the look and she even does the 'mashed potatoes' here......love her backup guys, they do her justice

  • LOVE THIS SONG

  • Albums like Diana Ross's "Eaten Alive", Dionne Warwick's "Heartbreaker", Kenny Rogers "Eyes That See In The Dark" and a few others were made possible when the Bee Gees were forced to put their own studio work on ice because of the Disco Backlash.

  • And that's why Ladies and Gents.....Miss Ross is still the Boss....she is one class act!

  • This must be 25 years old now.... O M G

  • FAV DIANA ROSS SONG!!!!<3

  • dio quanto adoro sta canzone, e lei è stupenda con tutti i look ma col caschetto è fantastica. Che pena al confronto le attuali "regine del pop".

  • thank to the BEE GEES

  • …is that James Lipton as the producer?

  • @cschack76

wow..good catch!! That is him. When he interviewed her a few years ago, they showed pictures of them together from around the 70's. So, they are friends from way back.

  • the bee gees did very good backing the vocals anyone who dissagrees can kiss my arse

  • One of the best hits ever!

Love the way she moves ( and looks ) in the b&w cuts.

  • Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!

  • "Chain Reaction" in 1986 was # 1 in UK (500.000copies sold and golden record), in Australia ( 300.000 copies sold, triple platinum record and single of the year ),in New Zeland and Ireland and a top 10 in various european chats. With this song, Diana got back to the "Motown Sound ",the sound of the Supremes.

  • I've just checked the Steps version against this. Nope, this wins. Steps vocals are ok but there's no variation of the automated percussion and keyboards.

If you make a cover version, there should be a reason to cover it, there should be something changed.

  • @Christorix I don't think it's smart trying to cover a song like this one. The main problem would be to match (or even come close to) the astonishing Bee Gees backvocals, their voices naturally harmonize in such a unique way that it's like a trademark that shouldn't be broken.

  • luv uuu babe xoxo

  • MY FAVORITE SONG !!!!

  • steps version is way better

  • @StepsFan4Life steps version was good and updated for the time. it is just a classic song and i am glad it was written for diana by the bee gees.

  • great toon

  • Can anyone be sitting listening to it..??..

  • thumbs up if ur here from mw2

  • @WastenTimeAllTheTime Do you mean the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2? Also, how was this song used?

  • @Koach127 yea.. and backround music

  • @WastenTimeAllTheTime Is there a clip of this?

  • @Koach127 no

  • *A Dymamic Woman*

  • love this song!!!

  • this song always reminds of fitzroy f.c 1986,great memories

  • Wow, those black dudes sound exactly like the Bee Gees!

  • @siasti

cos it's actually the Bee Gees doing the back vocals :)

  • The incomparable Diana Ross

  • Question: is the video made to look like it was originally filmed in the 60's or something and it was really made in the 80's?

If so they fooled me alright!

The producer guy cracks me up by the way!

  • spot on great tune.xx

  • This song was # 1 in UK ( 500.000 copies sold, gold record ), in Australia ( 300.000 copies sold, 3 platinum records and single of the year ), in Ireland and in New Zeland . Furthermore, was a top 10 in the charts around the World ! Go Miss Ross !

  • @FRANCO45063 the only country it did not do really well in was USA and we know why that is.

  • @wonderboyjoy Ciao. Can you tell me why ? It' s interesting .

  • @FRANCO45063 because this is the timew when diana started to receive lots of negative publicity about her life. mary's book was about to come out and that started an avalanche of hatred towards diana that really is only just beginning to ease now. the rest of the world did not buy the negative stuff about diana. also at this time madonna and whitney were just getting into full stride. normally this would not have mattered but combined with negative publicity diana had a tough time.

  • I think a more Motown feel to the song would have been better. And REAL (black) backup male singers in addition to the Bee Gees...! not just superimposing beegees onto the black backup singers!

  • @digenovafilm the bee gees wrote this as a motown style song. they have said so in many interviews. not literally a motown tune but a reminder of motown. this song was huge in australia.

  • Miss Ross - why is there a stick up your back (1:05) Berry would NEVER have allowed that!

  • I noticed that Youtube added a reaction option. I thought it was funny, considering this is Chain Reaction and all.

  • The best record of 1986, equal with Living Doll.

  • brilliant song very catchy

  • You can really tell this is Barry Gibb song!

  • WOW Miss Ross - nuff said.

  • She only got better with age.

  • how can music like this only have 2.8 million views when that bieber boy hass 500 million?? noone knows what good music is any more

this will still b playin long after he is gone

  • @archyjnr bieber who?

  • Che classe!!!

  • black people are so superior and far ahead in so many ways. a pleasure for them to enrich our lives with their astonishing abilities and qualities.

  • chemi bavshvobis yvelaze magari simgera

  • wow she was quite the thing

  • I have alwayeds like the song Chain Reaction, and I was suprized when mother told me that the Bee gees wrote this song and give credit to these guys at the time because they manged to get Diana Ross to sing this song because she as a wonderful voice when singing this popular song.

  • @tonyrichard1974 They sing in the backround

  • Such a great song! Bee Gees are legends!

  • @PatrickLMT not in the usa...but just about everywhere else.

  • incredible

  • how is it possible for her to look this hot. superb.

  • I'll never forget the time when Justin Timberlake got her minge out during the half time entertainment at the 1987 Rumbelows Cup Final.

  • Except for that key change.

  • This sound a bit like the Jim'll Fix It theme tune.

  • @bpace You could have just said "Charlie sent me here!" like everyone else does.

  • @happeninholly Yeah, a bit trite though isn't it? I guess this is YouTube...

I was half-heartedly trying to induce humour by specifically not referencing him...I'll get my coat.

  • She is Ageless! : )

  • I heard Diana Ross is one of British singers Amy WInehouse inspirations. Looking at this video I can see why. I can imagine Amy Winehouse singing in this video or being part of it. This music video is so Amy Winehouse. Sad to see her passing. RIP Amy Winehouse. A music talent who left this world too soon.
