daryl morey is by far the most talented GM's out there, aaron brooks is a major steal in his draft class, this guy can put 20 ppg, and he's still got alot left to go!
True. I, like nearly everyone else in town, thought at the time that that was a poor trade and that Lowry would never see the court. That's what gives me faith that they won't botch the McGrady trade.
Damn that Houston crowd, they're f-ing crazy. I went to Houston to watch a game against my team (with my team jersey on), we won, but I walked out feeling like we lost! LOL. Houston, and LA and Portland is crazy.
i was behind tha homie every since we drafted him with the 24th pick in the draft when every1 was killin him now every1 on tha bandwagon haha thats funny
you rocket fans can't imagine how much it hurt Oregonians to see Brooks tear apart our Blazers. Love that guy, he's nice as hell too. He gave me an autograph in Corvalis.
He's underated and one of the best pg on the team..& i honstly think he was the bets pg in point guard and i think he's going to be a allstar/best pg in leauge
Brooks is the one guy I go to when shooting 3's, moreso than Battier and Ron.
Plus, he's a lot faster than Alston. And seems to be better on the inside.
Even at the beginning of the season, I used Brooks as my starter and Alston as the backup.
Lowry as a backup is awesome on 2K9, but I feel like they could give them better stats, as well as Scola Landry. I can't seem to do anything with them with the new updates
I haven't updated anything, but I can make Landry pretty useful on offensive boards/inside scoring, and Scola sucks at passing and sucks at scoring if guarded so I have to drag defenders away from him to score with him, otherwise I leave everything up to McGrady, Yao, Alston, and Luther Head (haven't fixed the rosters since I want to finish my season first)
Hmm... Yea, Landry is REALLY good on the game, even if his overall is worse than Scola's. Every franchise I start with the Rockets, he usually ends up being the only Rocket I keep on my team from the current roster. Scoring and rebounding is so easy with him.
See what I do is EVERY YEAR I make a few big trades because I like playing with a different personnel every year. But I usually keep one or two from the original roster.
Aaron Brooks and Lowry's game are similar to Calvin Murphy's game. Specially Brooks he is really going to be a huge player for the Rockets he is probably going to be our Franchise point guard.
That's the best fucking line up you could get instead of 7 plus years of sucking cocks with fake star niggers who's not at all athletically optimum or EVEN bodily optimum!
Example is the Atlanta Hawks. They are the only team who make Boston to game 7 and look at their line ups! They have all these unknown bench and I don't even know them! Also Smith. This one dunker who jumps high!
4. Joey Dorsey (I wanna see the rookies fuck tmac!)
5. Donte green - ( I wanna see him hes on hoop mix tape really needs exposure tremendous bounty of all american high flyers and rebounders has TFB and flying 101 exposure/relations for street DUNK spirit)
So now we have All athletes now who can dunk and run the jump shot athletically and always I would want Rafer as the and1 spirit of their game as a team but hes traded!
you are on crack...why is everyone so damn foofy over von wafer? yes, he has done alot of good things as a rocket....but just because he is a good shooter doesnt always means he plays well. he is still a chucker and a liability on defense. also, he gets in the tendency to try and do too much, and it costs the team at times. there is a reason why he has not stuck with a team for much longer than a year. he is a nice role player....and thats about it.
You don't know shit about defense! These are monsters.
Joey Dorsey and Von Wafer. The difference of them to other "good" defensive player is that they jump high specially Joey Dorsey is heavier than Dwight and hes just six eight could windmill dunk. Also they don't use to block the ball quickly right before the release. They used to block the ball way above after!!!!!!
jumping high doesnt mean you are a good defensive player. If you're dumb as a rock or your awareness sucks, then jumping high and being physically gifted doesnt get you anywhere. I know the game of basketball. hopefully u werent being serious about that starting lineup. if the rockets ran that out in the postseason, they would get swept.
oh yeah, and donte green was traded before the season started. you obviously dont know basketball like I do.
I know hes traded to kings and doing this holly wood so he'll not end like MJ selling weak shoes to the people and renting Charlotte Bobcats with players having salary of 90, 000$ a year!
Shit that's what I'm saying! Jumping high for higher blocks requires greater speed and timing. Performing it is more spectacular than just ordinary blocks. Example is Dwight Howard(the best blocker in the league so far)!
The ROckets are dangerous i promise. . QUESTION. What makes up a team, superstars or a TEAM. The Boston Celtics won last year because they were a TEAM. They were united and none were playing selfish. TMAC is soooo selfish. He has no HEART that really pisses me off. HOuston has moved on now and they are winning with 5 straight they have not done this all season. You dont need superstars you need a TEAM. We will make it past the second round!!!!!!!! and with God help the FInals
We will be sniffing the finals if we play consistant and play smart. No one believes in us. We do not need superstars to win it all. We need a TEAM. THe Rockets have that now. They get not be united as they need it. TMAC was a disturbance i promise you that. We have a championship caliber team.
this team is kind of reminding me of ricks old sacremento teams...they had one star and played around him with heart and as a team...i think the rockets can seriuouly beat ANY TEAM
Agree. All the Stephen AHole Smith types believe in McGrady which leads me to believe even more that he is a fraud of a player. Have you noticed how well they've played since he's been out of the lineup?
I don't wish for any player to get hurt, but seriously Wack being out for the rest of the year was the best thing that could have ever happened to the Houston Rockets. When that news came I was like, "Whew. He's gone, now let's start a streak." and I think you'll see this one continue.
Im gonna miss Rafer Skip to my lou alston in Houston I just will. But to be truthful it was a good trade he getting old and doesnt have much left in the Tank just like T-mac.T-mac is my favorite player and will always be but ever since he got to houston is carrer is poop.2010 will be the one of the biggest years without a doubt. I wouldnt be surprised to see Lebron, Wade, Melo or anyone else end up there. The rockets were smart to make that trade to free up some salary space but damn gl Rafer
That couldn't be! Tmac can't do shit in the chopa/ gym no more. You know when I'm on roids I will still be able to dunk on 11ft rim when I'm 50 yrs! There's no reason for Tmac to act like a fag bag at his age also Rafer's street abilities is ideal and I put my money on him as a clown but he must have that chopa!
they need to run that last play much more often. i see it in utah with deron williams ALL THE TIME. Where they set the pick, and usually the defender goes behind Aaron will hit that shot 9 times out of 10.
I have to admit, I didn't like the trade, even though I like Brooks as a player. My concern is that Brooks is not a true point. I think we should use a five of
Yao
Scola
Battier
Artest
Brooks
With Wafer, Landry, and Lowry as the first guys off the bench.
I took a road trip throughout Texas, came from Dallas straight to Houston just to see this game, let's just say it was worth the f-ing horrible drive! I like the Rockets as well as Mavericks, one of the best defensive games I have been to in a while. "Little man" made the stadium roar!
I liked the trade.. Alston was aging, he was always inconsistent, while Brooks is just rising and waiting for his chance... He got it... 2 game winners...
I wanted to see T-mac get traded for Carter though...
I think pretty much every single Rockets fan wanted Wack to get traded. Myself included. When he was out, we were beating good teams (Boston, Denver, Utah, played L.A. tough until Kobe did what he does). With Wack we were losing to teams like New York, Philadelphia, Memphis, Milwaukee.
We at least have a chance now and I think you'll see a good streak. I also think Wack's days in Houston are numbered. He's alienated me with his act this year.
Whoever is a Rockets fan and misses Rafer is an absolute moron. Trading him was the best move EVER. Rafer went to Orlando to do just the same that he was doing with the Rockets, he was 1-9 and eight assists. Eight assists was decent, but there was times where he wouldnt even get assists and he would just turnover the ball and launch up shot after shot and miss time and time again. Rafer is the definition of inconsistent. Brooks is so young and so full of potential. Look at the guy, hes amazing
Not to mention that with him and Lowry, the Rockets get significantly better at the point, they're younger and they're more athletic. Comparing Rafer to Aaron Brooks is like comparing a lumbering horse and buggy with a Ferrari.
Yeah it was, Rafer makes 5 million and the Rockets are looking at 2010 with all the free agents. This season is still good for the young players, some of which will still be here in 2010. Besides this team still has a chance to make some noise in the playoffs.
No this trade was for the summer in 2009, because Daryl morey is going to trade mcgrady this summer and he traded rafer to free salary cap, and i'm 100% sure that mcgrady will get traded this summer, that's wat ESPN is saying...
No bc you won't get much for Tmac buddy, 2010 is when there are some all star free agents. Your a fool if you think we can get an all star for Tmac in a trade, no offence dude.
I gotta admit, I never saw Lowry play before tonight. If you take away his 4 TOs, he looked pretty decent. Brooks handled the starting PG job well tonight. Maybe I was too quick to label Morey an idiot. It's still too early to tell, but so far so good.
Yeah, for trading Rafer Alston when the team was 13-6 WITHOUT T-Mac. I thought they still had more than a decent shot to get homecourt in the first round, and get out of the first round, but if Brooks keeps playing like this, I guess they still do.
Except Rafer makes 5 million and now was the best time to get rid of him. Without Tracy they are looking at 2010, besides Morey has wanted Lowry for a while.
Oh sure, FINANCIALLY it was a smart trade, but in terms of WINNING, that remains to be seen. They're 1-0 so far. We'll see what happens the rest of the way.
2010 is gonna be a big year. Hopefully they can lure Bosh away from Toronto. I wont even kid myself into thinking that LeBron or Wade would come here, but I think Bosh is a possibility.
Brooks
Wafer
Battier
Bosh
Yao
Could be the Rockets' opening day lineup for the 2010-2011 season.
It's not the best case scenario, it's a scenario that I would like. They could sign another player as well.
Richard Jefferson or Mikey Redd is probably the best bet, but I'd prefer Jefferson. Idk if they'll be able to afford to offer Bosh a max contract though, in addition to bringing Jefferson over.
as a Rockets fan I appreciate all Rafer did for us (especially during the 22 game streak) and the guy has a big heart but now was the time to hand the keys to Brooks. He's a definite upgrade over Rafer and can definitely help us in the playoffs.
were a turnover team now but we are also an efficient offensive team now but were definitely definitely gonna miss rafers leadership are downfall in the playoffs is gonna be yao mings inability to guard pick and roll
pg ain't never, EVER been the problem. BALANCE is the problem. t-mac's in consistency is the problem. ming's lack of aggressiveness is the problem. your competitive division & conference is the problem. i've loved the rockets since the buck johnson days but it's been a rough decade since akeem retired

We at least have a chance now and I think you'll see a good streak. I also think Wack's days in Houston are numbered. He's alienated me with his act this year.

Brooks and Lowry played very well, consistency is the key. That was always Rafer's problem.

I feel bad for Kyle Lowry a little there rofl
He was so ready for Aaron rofl
Rockleerenge 2 years ago
Brooks was overcome with emotion, probably didn't see him :D.

One would hope.

lol aaron is still new with him prolly didnt even see him haha
MrJeckel 2 years ago
Fuck Rafer, Brooks just needs to improve his defense and Patience and he can be a very good PG.
BTW, Brooks has made big plays before, against Boston and now this.
Great job, Aaron.
NafeesLACC 2 years ago
Whoever is a Rockets fan and misses Rafer is an absolute moron. Trading him was the best move EVER. Rafer went to Orlando to do just the same that he was doing with the Rockets, he was 1-9 and eight assists. Eight assists was decent, but there was times where he wouldnt even get assists and he would just turnover the ball and launch up shot after shot and miss time and time again. Rafer is the definition of inconsistent. Brooks is so young and so full of potential. Look at the guy, hes amazing
abelandjackie 2 years ago
Not to mention that with him and Lowry, the Rockets get significantly better at the point, they're younger and they're more athletic. Comparing Rafer to Aaron Brooks is like comparing a lumbering horse and buggy with a Ferrari.

Rafer who?
biologyprodigy 2 years ago
Great game for Brooks! Man how about JJ Barea for Dallas too, he was launching 3's from Galveston

A.B. had really great game but going down the stretch you gotta ask yourself was it good trade? well you gonna have to wait and see..
rayosha 2 years ago 2
Yeah it was, Rafer makes 5 million and the Rockets are looking at 2010 with all the free agents. This season is still good for the young players, some of which will still be here in 2010. Besides this team still has a chance to make some noise in the playoffs.
Grady01 2 years ago
No this trade was for the summer in 2009, because Daryl morey is going to trade mcgrady this summer and he traded rafer to free salary cap, and i'm 100% sure that mcgrady will get traded this summer, that's wat ESPN is saying...
rayosha 2 years ago
No bc you won't get much for Tmac buddy, 2010 is when there are some all star free agents. Your a fool if you think we can get an all star for Tmac in a trade, no offence dude.
Grady01 2 years ago
I gotta admit, I never saw Lowry play before tonight. If you take away his 4 TOs, he looked pretty decent. Brooks handled the starting PG job well tonight. Maybe I was too quick to label Morey an idiot. It's still too early to tell, but so far so good.
coldman0727 2 years ago
lol
you said morey was an idiot?
ROFL
morey was NEVER an idiot. sir

Yeah, for trading Rafer Alston when the team was 13-6 WITHOUT T-Mac. I thought they still had more than a decent shot to get homecourt in the first round, and get out of the first round, but if Brooks keeps playing like this, I guess they still do.
coldman0727 2 years ago
Except Rafer makes 5 million and now was the best time to get rid of him. Without Tracy they are looking at 2010, besides Morey has wanted Lowry for a while.
Grady01 2 years ago
Oh sure, FINANCIALLY it was a smart trade, but in terms of WINNING, that remains to be seen. They're 1-0 so far. We'll see what happens the rest of the way.
2010 is gonna be a big year. Hopefully they can lure Bosh away from Toronto. I wont even kid myself into thinking that LeBron or Wade would come here, but I think Bosh is a possibility.
Brooks
Wafer
Battier
Bosh
Yao
Could be the Rockets' opening day lineup for the 2010-2011 season.
coldman0727 2 years ago
and scola would be first off the bench right?
radioman521 2 years ago
You are just like me. I want Bosh too but after watching this game I want Scola he played great defense he suprised me.
Deadshot089 2 years ago
Bosh is dissapointing on Defense despite his amazing athleticism.
NafeesLACC 2 years ago
bosh sucks on defense he puts no effort there... i dont know why people say amare cant play d when bosh cant either
MrJeckel 2 years ago
that's not even championship caliber line up.. so our best case scenario isn't even good enough to sniff the Finals?
accordblaze 2 years ago
It's not the best case scenario, it's a scenario that I would like. They could sign another player as well.
Richard Jefferson or Mikey Redd is probably the best bet, but I'd prefer Jefferson. Idk if they'll be able to afford to offer Bosh a max contract though, in addition to bringing Jefferson over.

finally i see rox beating dallas at home. I can still remember the heart-crushing defeats, twice, in the game 7! Go Rox!

where's tmac, does he play like only 8 games a year or something????
TheFlex21 2 years ago
Aaron Brooks is better than Alston, he will need to learn more, and he can become a star if he works at it.
NafeesLACC 2 years ago
as a Rockets fan I appreciate all Rafer did for us (especially during the 22 game streak) and the guy has a big heart but now was the time to hand the keys to Brooks. He's a definite upgrade over Rafer and can definitely help us in the playoffs.
HuskerFanatic 2 years ago 2
Rafer alston magic debut 1-9 3points 8 assists. What a mess. Everybody is going to hop on the Lowry/ab wagon.

were a turnover team now but we are also an efficient offensive team now but were definitely definitely gonna miss rafers leadership are downfall in the playoffs is gonna be yao mings inability to guard pick and roll

I think we finally got our PG.
sooner423 2 years ago
pg ain't never, EVER been the problem. BALANCE is the problem. t-mac's in consistency is the problem. ming's lack of aggressiveness is the problem. your competitive division & conference is the problem. i've loved the rockets since the buck johnson days but it's been a rough decade since akeem retired
