You must also consider that dating and elaborate courtship doesn't exist in a vast many nations. Males and Females are separate until marriage. In these types of societies there is established gender roles and therefore male female interaction is for the purpose of marriage. Because of established gender roles culturally men and women know what their role is in the family and know what is expected of them. This is another case where interracial and mating is not a consideration.
Interracial dating is about how you see yourself and what you value. Typically in Westernized nations there is more emphasis placed on nationality rather than ancestry. Therefore interracial dating will be more prevalent. This is especial true when culture associated with nationality is a common factor between different races of people. For those who value heritage, ancestry, traditions, customs and culture of the people whom they are from interracial and inter-ethnic dating is not an option.

I actually agree with you on the class dynamic... because I believe that is more of an issue today than interracial dating/ or marriage. I still feel funny sometimes when I see a black man or woman date outside their race. However, it really doesn't matter what I think, if you are happy with your mate that's all that matters. If love and respect are the foundation of the relationship that's what is important.

I'm trying to get away from using the word race, interracial, bi-racial, tri-racial, etc. Since all humanity originated from Africa - people have been mixing for all of human history - to me everyone is mixed.

I'm Hispanic and I have a black boyfriend. I don't see him by the color of his skin. I love him for who he is and he feels the same. It's sometimes hard to hear things that are offending; but I just brush it off. But i agree! it's 2010 so what can people expect??

I just saw a white boy on here mmmm mmmm they need to get a few more as cute a that in the dc area. IR is alright, people are people regardless of color or race or ethnicity it's all good. I don't of shutting someone down because of their race first. Even your reasons for even ONLY wanting to date IR you shouldn't hurt or put down your own (usually being the opposite sex of your race and your issues with them) as your fuel for doing so.

I am more concerned w/ the interracial couples that come together, make babies & their children automatically think that because they r bi-racial, that they are some how superior, more beautiful/attractive & just over all special. This is not something I've talked about in any videos but a subject VERY close to my heart, that I've dealt with almost my whole life. I probably need to make a video to get it all out, but I'm in an interracial relationship myself and it's been that way. The reason is mostly because of the people I grew up around and the music I listened to, as well as how people approached and treated me. On top of that, I am much older than my fiance. People should do what makes them happy is how I feel.

I actually agree with you on the class dynamic... because I believe that is more of an issue today than interracial dating/ or marriage. I still feel funny sometimes when I see a black man or woman date outside their race. However, it really doesn't matter what I think, if you are happy with your mate that's all that matters. If love and respect are the foundation of the relationship that's what is important.

@radiofreakkk I know that it's not just African americans that make a huge deal out of interracial relationships. I am African and I know its even a problem for some people coming from the same COUNTRY to marry outside their tribe. I feel that interracial relationships are given flack for the obvious reason of the dilution of culture and language. Personally I don't want to date outside my race because I want my kids to preserve their identity as africans and keep the language and culture

Even though i know its wrong i still look at interracial couples with the side eye sometimes. I dont know why exactly, but sometimes it seems like the more successful, goal oriented brothers end up with women from another race. It doesnt necessarily bother me but i do take a second glance.

Interracial dating shouldn't even be an issue. It's sad that there are still people who are against dating "outside one's race" when we all evolved from the same place. I used to get mad when I saw black men with women who weren't black because it made me feel like they saw black women as ugly and not worthy of being with. Definitely don't think that anymore..people can't help who they are attracted to. I have dated men of all races because we're all human and that's all that matters
