I don't understand why is all this hate? Noone denies that the original is the greatest...the fact that people do covers of it is like a compliment. Plus, Glee is not all that bad...it opens up the kids to music they might not have looked for in the first place. They will hear 'Blackbird' on Glee and want to hear the original and then BAM! realize how awesome the Beatles are, which will only do them good...so just be happy ^^ and enjoy the music :)

this song is a reminder of the most painfull moment in my life...

we played it at my fathers funeral. he died of a massive heartattack. it just hit us completly by surprise. he was a huge beatles fan and so we all kept looking for the perfect song for him. one of his oldest friends came up with blackbird. his last few years were very sad and miserable and his "wings" were long broken. so yes, that day he finally learned to fly again...but i´m still not over it...

It doesn't take away from the fact that the Beatles sang it and wrote it and that their will always be THE Best. So stop being so down on glee, it recognises the genius in amazing music like this.
