Apparently there is no 'check valve' in the master cylinder allowing you to simply push the piston back. I assume the brake fluid is forced back into the master cylinder. Should the brake fluid reservoir COVER be removed beforehand to allow air to escape???

Uhhhh...Antiseize is a grease that allows for easier removal and protection from heat. You mean "thread lock" prevents the bolt from loosening.
