I recently browsed a cool project that someone has done to raise awareness. Nice way to experience the disease. Just thought I'd share it with you all. Take a look sortmeout.sg
My mother is where he is at right now. I am a 56 year old man and I feel like a baby but show strength while visiting. I feel for you so much. Its like we lose them twice. Keep saying you love him.
my heart goes out to you and your family. i was my grandmothers care giver through out her last stages of this terrible disease and it was hard on the whole family. watching someone you love in pain, mentally and physically is hell on earth. i pray your family stays strong.
what is the point of being alive in that situation? he looks so miserable, i feel sorry for him. He seems to be in more emotional pain than physical. I would kill myself before i get to that point. he seems to want to express his pain with sound, maybe he should be in a rock band? it would probably be therapeutic. he is probably miserable because he is tied down to a bed, apparently so he wont hurt others"maybe they should put alzheimers patients on an island and let them do whatever they want
This is very typical of Alzheimer's type dementia in the mid-stage. I have certainly seen it in my family and in nursing homes when I visit. Many of these patients also end of in the psychiatric units of hospitals when their behavior becomes more and more bizarre. Nothing works though. It is truly sad.
It is painful for an adult child to no longer have a meaningful relationship with a parent. We are going through this in our family and that is probably the worst part. "Dad, do you know who I am". "Dad, please don't hit me, I won't hurt you".
Jaime=thanks for sharing--and letting people know about your dad! Alzhemiers-
is not just loosing your car keys--or memory (it is about confusion, being scared and unable to care for yourself)--please e-mail about what is going on-and we can chat-this is so scary--I am so glad that you are there for your dad (some family members would run away from this)
My wife's mother is suffering from Early Onset Alzheimer's (PCA) and her behavior symptoms are nearly identical to this gentleman's. This behavior IS consistent with the Early/Visual variants of Alz
Her family has decided to take care of her at home and it is the most difficult endeavor I have ever been a part of.
The only redemption from this situation is that we do everything we can possibly do to make sure she is taken care of.
Our wishes go to everyone experiencing this painful disease.

only knowing one Alz patient as there are NO typical Alzheimer patients other than geriatric related Alzheimer's. The disease and related treatment meds have created a terrible and
torturous scenario for not only my dad but his
family. Your critic of the cameras is typical of the complacent medical community...if we don't study what's happening there's no chance at all
Thank u all for your thoughts. WIKEY you obviously have limited access to geriatric dementia as THIS IS ALZHEIMER'S and this is posted to shed light on how the disease attacks the brain randomly.
He is saying cut cut cut cut....in other words stop the video! This is not alzheimers it is someone so frustrated by what is happening to them. This is not typical at all of the condition it is typical of someone upset and unhappy and possibly in pain.Alzheimers does not have to be like this .Put your cameras down and get on and LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN to your dad.....Nurse Specialising in Dementia Care and also with a dad who has the condition.
My heart goes out to you. You're an Angel for being so patient. This is a disease, which I hope a cure if found. My Father developed a form of Alzheimer's which was caused from alcohol withdrawal. The medical term is referred to as, Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome.
Good on you for take care of your Father. How old is your Father?

I would off myself if the symptoms of alzheimers started to show, probably after a bout of hedonism and a nice trip somewhere.

Any mental disorder is hard to deal with
my mum has bipolar disorder controlled by quetiapine (seroquel) and Valproate semisodium (depakote) and when on these meds she is generally fine
this is heart breaking to watch and you and your family must go through a lot each and every day
i know you love him but if any of my family ended up like this i would consider euphonasia, look at your father hes in turmoil
more needs to be done to establish the cause of Alzheimer's and a cure
god bless you

Sometimes doctors need to kill. And sometimes it's the only right decision. It is wrong to torment a man and his family. It's awful.

It might be Schizophrenie too ! Try Seroquel and Abilify.
patrick25w 7 months ago
@patrick25w it isn't schizophrenia it is the brain shutting down slowly. antipsychotics are used to calm them down sometimes.

If you don't have the will to donate money to this man after watching this video, they're not human and they're heartless.
