  • 5*. Happy fishing dear !!

  • @RamonaFromPomona Raksin was under quite a bit of pressure from Zanuck to have the Laure title on time and Mercers Lyric made Laura a timeless movie

  • @HAPPYTHELEAF They should make a movie about Gene.

  • @HAPPYTHELEAF .........but who could play Gene Tierney

  • @erikkihss Difficult to say, however, if the story was well written for the screen, beauty though important would not be paramount what would be is the ability to play a convincing portrail there in lies the problem. It is easy to cast a beauty and we could name many. Consideration would have to be given to Genes unique screen presence, aspects of Genes life.Take Drew Barrymore's role in Gray Gardens very much a documentary role yet convincing, mimicking accent, dress and gesture. Kate Winslet ?

  • @HAPPYTHELEAF I like Kate :)

  • @erikkihss There are very many competent actresses out there Kate came to mind, there is I suppose the more obvious choices, Jolie, who would your choice be...

  • @HAPPYTHELEAF I'm afraid I haven't been keeping up with the movies lately. Except for

the fact that she is now 60 years old.......I like the way Jane Seymour

played Natalie Jastrow in War and Remembrance.

  • @erikkihss I'm not a huge movie buff, in fact I'm not into modern cinema I feel it's all been done, I read somewhere once and I quote, 'All Things Are Improving Except The Art Of Poetry And Stone Masonry'. and dare I say even Music as it's almost a mathematical certainty i's all been done there too...

  • @HAPPYTHELEAF I like the old movies myself. As for music......there is only so much that can be done with 12 tones, however, I look at it like sunsets..........each one is different.

  • @erikkihss What about the lost chord ? or is music just math the same throughout the Universe or have we tones inaudible to the human ear just like the silent dog whistle something to ponder.......on

  • @HAPPYTHELEAF I don't even know what that is, unless you mean the 1876 Arthur Sullivan song. There are tones lower and higher than we humans can hear. I've experienced bass tones, produced electronically that you could not hear, but you could feel.

To me there is a magic that happens, esp. in jazz, when a group of musicians are "on" and interacting with each other in real time that doesn't happen anywhere else. We don't need any new notes.

  • @erikkihss What I'm trying to say, as you rightly point out. is that we not only hear music audibly we also feel it physically apart from emotionally and when we add the visual sense we share this gift of music, as we call it with other life forms, for instance Birds and Whales they also hear feel and visualize sound tone.

  • @HAPPYTHELEAF Yes! Speaking of whales, I hate to think of what the sonar from nuclear submarines must do to them

  • @erikkihss I can well imagine and it is not good, akin to white noise painful.

  • @erikkihss Have you seen Drew Barrymore in the movie 50 first dates, well I have a few times and I believe Drew has what it takes to play Gene.Drew can draw on life experience, she has a inner beauty beyond the obvious and the acting heritage to carry it off.

  • @HAPPYTHELEAF I've liked Drew ever since "ET" and that wonderful scream. I didn't see 50 first dates, but saw an interview with her and some clips of the film she did on the hidden Kennedy woman. Great actress.

  • @erikkihss I have just been to your channel and must say I enjoyed the fishing clips and music they had a look of sea Bass what type of fish where they fantastic fillets I love to fish myself around our shores, rivers and lakes.

  • @HAPPYTHELEAF Glad you liked it. In "Rollers" the fish were cod and bluefish. We were off the south shore or Long Island, NY. I love being out on the ocean and just got back from a good day of blackfishing in 6 ft seas.

  • @erikkihss Excuse my ignorance but what kind of fishing is blackfishing is it a species of fish, and there few things to compare to the exhilaration of the high seas, the heaviest sea fish I ever caught was a Cod off Minehead south west coast of Ireland drifting over rough ground 23.5lbs, we had cod pie, cod fillet, and cod steaks for a week.

  • @HAPPYTHELEAF Blackfish or tautog are bottom feeders that live in rocks or structure like wrecks. We use green, white or hermit crabs to catch them. They have strong teeth that crush the crabs and that's when you set the hook. Tricky to catch. They'll dive into the rocks and you lose a rig. Delicious. They are not a good farm fish as they only gain a lb every 3 yrs or so. They have to be at least 14 inches in NY. 7 or 8 lbs is a nice tog.

  • @erikkihss I have often had the very thought I have studied Genes Life and career as much as possible, and it has it all,The Golden Ere Of Hollywood, A United States President, An Eastern Prince, Billionaire Howard Hughes, The Silver Screens Leading Men,Two Marriages,Family Tragedy, Estranged Parents,Mental Illness and it's Triumph, Personal Courage and finally a happy end and it's all true.
