The "killer shrews" are some unfortunate dogs which have had costumes put on them, consisting mostly of long stringy hair. In close-up, there's a crude "shrew" head with crooked junky teeth that gets stuck through holes in the wall. You will feel no fear at any time while watching this film.

I saw this a few years ago on television. They did a little thing where they take commercial breaks and teach about real shrews and then go back to the film. It was hilarious! The welding scene especially. And I love how they did the teeth. But I can't help but wonder if the actors didn't think it was silly or if the costumes stayed on the dogs very well. It's funny. Watch it if you get a chance.
