This moment is cute, but it's a cute moment between FRIENDS not LOVERS or did you Harmony fans miss out Harry staring at GINNY'S BLOODY FOOTSTEPS ON THE MARUADERS MAP!!! Ginny/Harry forever.
@TheOneAndOnlyPotter lol. Of course it couldn't possibly be a moment between lovers. But that would also mean that we assume all relationships are simple and that a person can only give their heart to one person.
@gofyball me to. when i was waching this i was going though a break up with my bf and i wiched that my firend dustine was at my house when i was waching this
All I can say is...apart from the scene having meant to relieve the enormous tension among the three heroes, as a thought, it would have SUCKED for Ron had he come back to them at this point..he'd see them dancing and I wouldn't even be able to put into words how heartbroken and betrayed he'd feel..he would misconstrue it badly.
to be honest i didn;t like this scene because a lot of people misunderstood it, i think that harry and hermione were friends and loved each other the way a friend or a brother-sister would love and nothing more they were in love with twto other people and thats it,just my opinion
I haven't seen the movies or read the books, so my question is this: What was the point of that? Is it like Twilight where they're just teasing the die-hard fans? Is it important to the story?
@GoldenFlither15 I think it was put in cause Ron left Hermione & Harry on their hunt. Hermione was in love with Ron so she was devastated after he left (you see her sulking at the start of the video). Harry & Hermione have a really close friendship and I think Harry just wanted to forget about the whole hunt for a moment & try to cheer her up. I think that's why the director put it in the film, also to get away from the intense scenes for a bit. (The dance wasn't written in the book)
@StartheSpark Yes, it is that. However, David Yates said in an interview at the end when they pull apart it becomes complicated and there could of been something more that friendship. So there is hints of sexual tension in this scene.
I adore this scene. Emma said that Hermione could of easily kissed Harry that night, because they were looking for some sort of intimacy as they were both miserable. So people can interpret it in a romantic way. They have the best chemistry in the enitre series, hands down!
This here is what makes me love Hermione. She's hurting so much, but she doesn't do a 'Bella Swan' and just stay immobile emotionally for months on end. She tries her damnest to do the right thing and help her best friend no matter what, even though the one she loves is gone. I have mad respect for this girl :P
I remember the part in the book when Harry said to Ron, "I love her like a sister and I reckon she feels the same way about me."...That's kind of sweet. ;)
Everyone is saying this is not a romantic scene, i agree its just 2 friends dancing nothing more, It could of been though.... I mean, what if Ron walked in and seen them dancing, he'd still think there is something going on, the reason why he left in the first place, I watched This Harry potter thing ontv, emma spoke of this scene, she said, something more could of happened between harry and hermione when they stopped dancing and looked at each other, but she said hermione stayed faithful to ron
@TheLollypop655 no,no, Emma said that if Harry and Hermione kissed at the ending, Hermione wouldn't be true to herself, cause she knows she loves Ron. Not being faithful for Ron. Also, i agree, but at the same time, i disagree. This is a romantic scene. This is a friendship scene. Whats the difference? Getting into the next stage in freindship between a boy and a girl is natrually given. Harry just wanted Hermione to peer up some how..........
@SwirlTownGurl264 Hehe, thanks for adding on, I was going to get to the kiss but I wrote abit too much, Harry was also upset about Ron leaving so I don't think anything would of happened if they really wanted Ron to come back..... But I totally agree with what you said.
In all honesty this scene might have been shot to represent friendship, but the 2 of them as actors deffinitely have the most chemistry towards each other, the way they are looking at each other is intense, I havent seen this much chemistry not when Ron and Hermione kissed nor when Harry and Ginny<3 I love this scene, it represents so much friendship, love, trust, happiness<3 It's just a beautiful scene!
Dispite all the other opinions, I just think this scene is about romance. Hermione is just faithful to Ron, which is of course the right thing to do for her. But Harry and Hermione would've been a great couple. Harry shows much more affection towards Hermione in a very loving, thoughtful way. Ron and Hermione have "chemistry", which means that they're shouting at each other about nothing. If there would be a next HP, it would be "Harry Potter and the divorcing papers op Ron and Hermione."
They were both feeling down and missing Ron. Harry just wanted a moment for them both to have fun and forget the bad stuff. That's what makes this moment so sweet. Harry's hilarious, he let Hermione spin him. :P
This really is one of the best HPscenes EVER, a little light of happiness in their dark times... <3 But I think of it as a friendship scene, not a romantic scene.
i never thought of this as a romantic scene, i thought of it like your supposed to..2 bestfriends trying to have a lightened moment in all the darkness..and plus harry is trying to cheer her up cause she is hurt ron left... this is a true friendship ^ nothing more
in my opinion, this has nothing to do with sexual tension or any of that. they are just two best friends who have been through everything together, and they are hungry, lonely, confused, miserable, and scared, and its not weird for friends to have fun together when they have nothing better to do
For me, this dance isn't about a romantic love between Harry and Hermione, it's about the deep bond of friendship. They love each other like a brother and sister, not like a relationship. The two of them have an amazing devotion to one another as good friends. This dance is also a "healing" thing for them: both of their significant others (Ginny and Ron) are gone, there's a war going on, they're in the middle of nowhere, their lives are in danger. It makes sense to me and it's very, very sweet.
@archergrl1996 I totally agree with u and i loved what u had to say. You saved me from a long speech to all of those who seek romanticism in this scene. and it's one of my favorite scenes because they show that total devotion as friends.
@75LedZep -- Oh, good, I'm not alone! :D And yes, I love this scene so much. I smile from ear to ear every time I watch it. I absolutely love the smile on Harry's face at 1:15 ... he looks truly happy there, even after going through so much.
God I hated this scene. It ruined the movie for me. It was so contrary to what the actual characters from the book would have done. In the book, Harry spent the whole camping trip pining for Ginny. And Hermione cried for Ron. If H and H had kissed, Harry's friendship with Ron would have been destroyed. So would Harry's relationship with Ginny. Nice going Yates. Loser.
@DocOc61 Yates isn't a loser. This scene was meant to show the amazing friendship that Harry and Hermione have. He hated seeing her so upset so he wanted to take her away and enjoy herself just for a moment when they danced. Calm down.
@rachelx1129 Yates said in an interview, “There’s a moment in the film where Harry and Hermione dance for the first time. It’s full of proper sexual tension because they’re both teenagers and they’re at that stage where Ron’s left and there’s a sort of intimacy between them. So there are all sorts of corners that you turn because they’re young adults. And turning those corners is actually quite fun and interesting.”
So no, this is NOT just about amazing friendship, ACCORDING TO YATES.
@DocOc61 Oh well. Big deal. Ron and Hermione are meant to be together because that's what Jo created. I thought this scene was great, there's no need for people to get worked up over it. Hermione and Harry are alone, in a tent and upset. It would be surprising if there was no sexual tension. It doesn't have to mean anything that there was either. Hermione knows she loves Ron. It's different with Harry, hormones doesn't change what she and Ron have.
@DocOc61 I realize this. Seriously. It's a scene in the movie and no I didn't forget Ginny. Obviously the books are what truly matter and yeah, it pisses me off when it's not true to the book but they are two separate things. It's not like you can change the scene. I take it as two friends who deeply care for one another and share a moment of happiness when they're feeling down, even if Yates says differently. Done arguing.
@rachelx1129 I'm sorry. I didn't mean to aruge. I love the Harry Pottre series. Ginny is my favorite character and I love Harry and Ginny together. Despite how it seemed, my frustrations were not directed at you. They were directed at how Yates and Kloves minimized Ginny's character and her relationship with Harry. Your right, the scene will never be changed, and that's what frustrates me.
@rachelx1129 It would be surprising if there was no sexual tension? There was not the slightest suggestion of it in the book. Not one word. It's different with Harry? Really? You may recall a character named Ginny. You may have forgotten about her because that loser Yates and that loser Kloves can barely bring themselves to mention her or give her any lines or scenes in the movies. But Harry and Ginny WERE meant to be together because that's what Jo created.
@MKC1818 yeah but yates failed he made it seem like they had love tension when in fact harry and ginny truly loved each other curse yates for killing ginny's character
@TDFandHSlove YES That's all I saw too. He was just trying to cheer her up and help her forget about all the serious stuff happening, if only for a moment.
When I first saw the movie, when Harry reached for Hermione's hand, I was like WTF because it didn't happen in the book, and I was like " Oh no.. What if Ron walked in on them " xD
@yourtruenorth I dont thnk the results at the end was her cheered up, she wishes tht was ron dancing wth her, i know harry was just being a good friend, but wht if something happened between them, harry could never forgive himself if ginny found out bout tht
The song is called O'children by Nick Caves and The Bad Seeds and if I may add I found this scene incredibly emotional because it shows how fast both of them had to grow up and confront such things that made them lose their innocence. It was as if Harry was telling her that he was sorry for putting her through everything. Ahhh this made me cry...and the song was perfect for this scene.
I don't think this had anything to do with Harry crushing on Hermione. It was just simply Harry cheering up his friend.
Of course David yates wanted the Harry/Hermione fans to like think they were going to kiss or something. But that's just how I look at it. Just friends dancing around.
for some reason this reminds me of when they where like 11 and didnt have any worries.they where just little kids messing around and goofing off without any worrying.
hes in love with ginny though, right? even daniel described it as just an awkward dance between friends. i think that was the intention but of course yates wanted the hermione/harry friends at the edge of their seat.
when i see this scene, i always think that harry had a crush on her or something, just the way he looked at her at the end, and the way his smile fading to a frown when she walked away, cause he knows he would never be the same as ron.. :(
There is so much controversy that happened over this scene. Wouldnt this scene just reflect that he was trying to cheer her up since she misses ron and harry misses ginny?
At the end, when they stop dancing, you can see in Hemione eyes that she really wants Harry to be Ron... Poor Hermione, she makes me so sad, when I see her crying becouse of Ron...
I really really adored this scene. I think its just such a good way of showing that deep connection between Harry and Hermione. They're alike in so many ways yet so different and they really need each other. I love them :) I love their friendship
So many emotions running through this scene. I'm really glad they included in the movie, because it was an excellent way oh displaying all the running emotions
I love this scene it's so cute

i dont see romance i see friendship! i envy hermione and harry's friendship because they really do love each other!<3

@TDFandHSlove YES That's all I saw too. He was just trying to cheer her up and help her forget about all the serious stuff happening, if only for a moment.

@ginnyluna182 this scene is filler so it doesnt count yates the failure made it seem like they had love tension but ginny is the only one for harry

When I first saw the movie, when Harry reached for Hermione's hand, I was like WTF because it didn't happen in the book, and I was like " Oh no.. What if Ron walked in on them " xD

If I never ever seen the Harry Potter movies and just read the books I would have never guessed this was Harry Potter

its such a sweet scene. don't you think if it was ron and hermione dancing they would have kissed at this moment 1.49.
TVlover2011 7 months ago
One of the best moment of the series :)
At that time of the story, Harry and Hermione are the only person left to each other, they are everything to each other, they are best friends ! <3
tintin152 7 months ago
it is sweet Harry did that for Hermione to cheer her up. That is what a good friend does when he see his friend down. =)
yourtruenorth 7 months ago
@yourtruenorth I dont thnk the results at the end was her cheered up, she wishes tht was ron dancing wth her, i know harry was just being a good friend, but wht if something happened between them, harry could never forgive himself if ginny found out bout tht

i love how harrys proper going for it!<3

The song is called O'children by Nick Caves and The Bad Seeds and if I may add I found this scene incredibly emotional because it shows how fast both of them had to grow up and confront such things that made them lose their innocence. It was as if Harry was telling her that he was sorry for putting her through everything. Ahhh this made me cry...and the song was perfect for this scene.

Why can't I have a best guy friend like Harry?
That's really sweet of him to cheer her up like that. :)
AnimePRFury 7 months ago 6
This is cute, but it's just Harry cheering up his best friend. It's nice of him. Then she's still depressed and he frowns.
kynaax 7 months ago 6
I don't think this had anything to do with Harry crushing on Hermione. It was just simply Harry cheering up his friend.
Of course David yates wanted the Harry/Hermione fans to like think they were going to kiss or something. But that's just how I look at it. Just friends dancing around.
TheLovingLucy 7 months ago 2
for some reason this reminds me of when they where like 11 and didnt have any worries.they where just little kids messing around and goofing off without any worrying.
officialY1p 7 months ago
hes in love with ginny though, right? even daniel described it as just an awkward dance between friends. i think that was the intention but of course yates wanted the hermione/harry friends at the edge of their seat.
smurfette01 7 months ago
when i see this scene, i always think that harry had a crush on her or something, just the way he looked at her at the end, and the way his smile fading to a frown when she walked away, cause he knows he would never be the same as ron.. :(
DisneyGirl1313 7 months ago
The way they look at each other, sometimes I wonder if she was ginny, the chemistry would've been wayy better than ginny and harry!
glittercupcakez210 7 months ago
this is so random, but i lover hermione's shirt
NYCgirl1221 7 months ago 6
There is so much controversy that happened over this scene. Wouldnt this scene just reflect that he was trying to cheer her up since she misses ron and harry misses ginny?
smurfette01 7 months ago 4
At the end, when they stop dancing, you can see in Hemione eyes that she really wants Harry to be Ron... Poor Hermione, she makes me so sad, when I see her crying becouse of Ron...
