Thanks for the tutorial info - downloaded the apps today and working on getting this going. Currently running it through the VM player. Just need this for testing some apps on my win 7 box at work (tired of hauling my macbook). Question I have (still loading it) have you put the current OS patch on it 10.6.7??
why do yo run windows 7 on a mac -.- i never would do that *_* bcuz mac is awesome btw but thanks for da video now i will do it u really helped me alot thanks dude :)
Question - does the VM open as a window on the PC, so that you could switch back and forth between the PC and the Mac (the way you do with a remote desktop connection)? Also, once using the mac in VM, can you access the same files and resources as the PC (ie., My Documents etc.)? Thanks for a great video.
@meatradio Yes, the VM opens up in a window (and there's also an option for full screen). No. Your files from Windows and Mac OS X are completely separate from each other. You'll have to setup file sharing in Windows and access them via the network in your VM.
I have a mac. 2 actually but i cant afford to buy a mac pro for programming and stuff. So my only option is to make a custom PC because im on a budget. I just found out about this program and im all excited cuz i can run mac os x on my Pc.
@gumballtech yea there is go on there site vmware player version 3 is it the same thing and also i heard there is a way to install vmtools to get graphics acceleration.
relax, i bought a snow leopard disc from microcenter for $29.99, and then i found out it doesnt work, so i extracted the disk, and copyed the disc to my computer, and i added a darwin bootloader in the osx os files.
and then i created an .iso off of it, and burned it as an image on to a DVD.

Can you use iTunes with your iPod as usual in OSX, or will windows pop-up and give trouble?
Can you adress a part of your HD specifically for Mac OSX?
Or will it just increase the folder with Leopard in it?
TheScythed 1 year ago
@TheScythed The actual files for Leopard/Snow Leopard will dynamically grow as you add more stuff to it and use it.
VMware has the option to "hook" your iPod/etc. to the virtual machine just as if you were plugging it into a real Mac.

@gumballtech yea there is go on there site vmware player version 3 is it the same thing and also i heard there is a way to install vmtools to get graphics acceleration.
Jamaica4Lyphe 2 years ago
Oh, that.
There's NO way to get proper graphics acceleration for Snow Leopard in a virtual machine (at the moment).
gumballtech 2 years ago
will this work in the normal vmware?
Jamaica4Lyphe 2 years ago
does this work on AMD PC's ?
ItzMeScottG 2 years ago
Nope. For AMD users, the only options you have is to install Mac OS X natively, or buy a Mac.
gumballtech 2 years ago
nevermind, i found an AMD Version of sn0w leopard iso, burned it as an image, and im running it in vmware workstation 7 :)
ItzMeScottG 2 years ago
Ah, you're running a hackintosh distro in the VM. Too bad that's illegal. You should buy a copy of Snow Leopard ($30) anyway.
