I think the whole whaling thing needs to be toned down a fair bit, for sure. I like whales. They're like the brontosauruses of the sea; big, calm, and gentle. But what Sea Shepherd is doing is illegal, and is pretty close to terrorism. Throwing bottles of acid at or using lasers to blind the crew of another ship is pretty illegal, I'm sure, as is ramming a ship.

The smaller vessel clearly accelerated (look at the prop wash behind it) into the path of the larger vessel that was already in a hard turn trying to avoid the collision.

I think the whole whaling thing needs to be toned down a fair bit, for sure. I like whales. They're like the brontosauruses of the sea; big, calm, and gentle. But what Sea Shepherd is doing is illegal, and is pretty close to terrorism. Throwing bottles of acid at or using lasers to blind the crew of another ship is pretty illegal, I'm sure, as is ramming a ship.
Also, being racist against the Japanese and suggesting they be nuked is not cool. Prove your point with reason, not violence.

The smaller vessel clearly accelerated (look at the prop wash behind it) into the path of the larger vessel that was already in a hard turn trying to avoid the collision.
All this is not to mention these terrorists were trying to deploy snag lines for the sake of disabling the larger ships propulsion... a very dangerous game at sea.

Obvous that the whaler was going to pass close to the Ady Gil, in a confrentation that the Ady Gil and its crew provoked and when the captain of the Ady Gil saw that they were NOT going to be rammed the he gunned the engines to force themselves into the whaler. @romanobritish now when was this video ever about the other activities SS does.....this is about one boat hitting another. and in that case, the aby gil was right. besides...throwing crap on the deck of the whaling boat hardly justifies altering course to run over a tiny boat which would crumble on contact. its lucky the aby gil didnt go completely under right away. the whaling boat put SS's crew in much more harm than anything that lil vessel could possibly do. im not trolling...just talkin

In a real story of David and Goliath the Sea Sheppard are the only ones with the bottle to take on the whaling indusrty. Where is the international community on this? SS should be supported until the governments of the world do what they are supposed to do and exert political pressure on any and all whaling nations to stop what they are doing. Failing that I would suggest an international coalition of warships that board, disembark crew and finally torpedo any ship caught in this delporable ind.

the shohan maru No2 steered into the ady gail, you can tell by the fact that the ady gail is stationary (because she had waterjets you would be able to tell if there running) The cpt of the shohan maru No2 also, regardless of who rammed who, broke the maritime code by failing to lend assistance to a vessel in distress, and can have his license revoked and charges pressed as a result,

Mate I am a skipper and have been a shipping Inspector so I too have enough knowledge to be dangerous.
In a situation such as this I would charge both masters, for failing to comply with the ruk
les regarding the prevention of collisions at sea.
I must disagree strongly tho with what you say about the Ady Mull. It was very clear that they powered up into the path of the Japs.
Weather by poor seamanship or as a deliberate act, both masters clearly should be charged.

neither master has been charged :( if you look at the footage at teh start you can see that the ady seems to be jogging at a slow speed, other footage DOES show the shonan turing into the ady though youtube .com/watch?v=Bbuq0YEIPNU&feature=related which leads me to belive the ady was trying to move out of the way when the shonan turned into the ady.
